Mar 23, 2010I cant seem to get VB to focus on a textbox correctly at the moment I did
TextBox.focus()
in the load event but still a button keeps grabbing focus anyway.

My problem the following the new ServiceMenu (szt form) show in the right position but cannot get focus. My user have to click on it to the form gets the focus however if the user click the File-ServiceMenu this forms works well and get the focus.I think the main menu get back the focus (If i press the ALT the File menu dropdown .... )

but nothing happens. The cursor is not blinking in the combo text and if i type something it is not written in the combobox...

Mar 21, 2012I have a textbox on a form that when it loses focus it updates other text boxes on the form. But before it updates the other textboxes I check the input value in the textbox lostfocus event if it is undesired I return focus to the the textbox and alert the the user with a msgbox. However where my problem is, is that when the cancel button is clicked I don't care what the input in the textbox is because the changes are being canceled but if the value is undesired the it keeps returning focus to the textbox instead of canceling the changes. Is there a way to see what control was clicked on before or in the lost focus event? Can't seem to figure it out tried enter and leave events but no luck!

Picturebox Paint Doesn't Display Correctly When Load From A Catalog
Jul 9, 2010I am building a form that will load individual items(from individual files) or a catalog of items(from a list of items). I then click the item I want to use to select it. Everything works correctly, when I click an item it selects the correct stitch. The only problem is, it doesn't display correctly when I load from a catalog. I can open individual items and it works fine. When I load a catalog it doesn't display the images correctly.

I'm having some doubts about if I've done it as it should be done, and if there are no better approaches. One of the things that make me frown the most is how I'm currently handling all the cross thread events. This class contains a decent amount of events, about 20. What I've done is created a dictionary in which I have a list of callbacks, one for each event. The keys are a value of an enum containing all keys I created. In the underneath line, eventDelegates is the dictionary, and delegates is the enum.

Focus On A Text Box On Form Load?
Mar 4, 2009On my Form_Load event, I simply have a code which is simply Text1.Focus and Text1.SelectAll. Neither of these actually works. I've also tried this on the Visible_Changed event and checked if the form is visible.
I can create a button with this code in and it works fine. Is this something to do with the text box not actually being visible at the time when the code is executed? It's driving me mad!
