I can load and play an mp3 file using windows media player COM component, but I can't find a way to work with embedded mp3 files. I want to put mp3 files into resource, and then play them. (The file are well-named) how to work with embedded sound type?

To start with, what I need to do is get the button values from the control into a text box on the first form. But I don't want to have a method calling the textbox directly from within the control, because then it won't be reusable in my other forms. View 2 RepliesWith VB6 and VB9, I continue to have problems displaying images on a form while playing wav files (either by API call or by My.Computer.Audio.Play method).I set up a loop to display pictureboxes on a form (card images), with a wav sound file that is supposed to be played each time a picturebox is displayed. However the pictureboxes won't display until after the loop finishes and the sounds have been played several times in series:Example

Does this mean if I read the docx file (like i would any other file) I can somehow put this in a rich text box and it will have all of the formatting in it? Because I am not seeing how that happens. I'm using a date/time picker control and sending the db value to it. I know that the value is null, but I don't understand why the Picker can't be blank. Is there a way to let it be blank? Or should I set up a way to check for nulls and assign today's date or something just in case?

View 9 RepliesI am embedding an xsd file into my console program so I can use it to parse XML files into a datatable which I then will parse and process into a text file and into a database. I have embedded the file and can access it by going to My.Resources.LinerTester. This will return a string, but in order to use it on the Dataset.ReadXmlSchema method I have to convert it to an XSD, otherwise I get an error saying invalid characters. How can I take the embedded resource and convert it to an XSD file? I know the XSD file works fine, if I read it from a location on the hard drive it will process the XML files into a dataset just fine, so the file itself is valid.

As I said it's very basic at the moment. But I discovered by going to [URL] and look at the source that if I remove the flashvar tag I get the same result as i'm getting in my program. So I thought, hey I need to add flashvars to my script. I first tried it in the property window but that didn't work. The field stayed blank when I clicked away. Then i tried it by using code to set the flash var, still no luck.The goal is to embed this service into a program i'm developing so clients can send and, most importantly, receive text messages with a valid phone number.

View 1 RepliesI'm creating an application that will have 3 streams of audio. I can get 2 streams playing easy enough using DirectX AudioVideoPlayback and setting the balance for each Audio Instance. However, I need a 3rd Audio instance to play out of another output such as the Rear or Centre. An alternative would be to be able to select a different sound device in the machine to play the 3rd audio stream.

e.g.> There is a FORM with a PLAY button on which is coded to play a WAV file. But how does VB detect when the WAV file has finished playing?

In Visual Studio 2008 I tried to add xml file as embedded resource. During compilation the embedded resource item was simply ignored and the resource I expected to find in resulting dll was not there. I tried several times with no positive effect. Finally I decided to rename the file, so it does not have xml extension. As soon as I changed the extension to (it was .en in this case) Visual Studio started picking the file up and embedding it as part of the assembly. I could not find any any documentation on that odd behavior. Does anyone know if that is expected, and, if so, why ?
