i am making an RPG game with visual basic...The character is a picture box.The problem is when i move the charactor with the arrow keys it flashes black for a milisecond. I think added animated walking where it slowely moves 32 pixels but not it goes black the whole time... what can i do sto stop it going black everytime it moves?

That code moves the player slowely but causes a big black line to merge then just ends up teleporting the player..How can i get rid of the black flash during movement?

I'm currently making an application that involves time tables / scheduling. I'm required to generate a timetable for school teaching activities. in this application, I want to display the time slots using labels and I want to enable users to drag them around to place the subject cards in the available slots. I'm even confused with the control to use for the time slots. Right now I'm thinking of using datagridview for the time slot. So I'm trying to drag the labels around and placing them in the datagridview cells.

I am trying to create a macro to enter data in a label printing application for hundreds of labels- I use an external third party software that's not very user friendly. It has several fields that accept text. The problem is, manually entering the data and clicking "print" each time is very time consuming. Can anyone suggest a way to put a line of text in the field, printing, and repeating the process?

I'm struggling to figure this out on my own. First of all I'm not sure if my calculations are right for the BusinessCustomer part. Its supposed to be:
Processing fee:$16.50
Basic service fee: $80 for first 10 connections; $4 for each additional connection
Premium channels: $50 per channel for any number of connections
anyways, what Im mainly concerned about is clearing the label when the radio buttons are changed. I have tried adding "Call Clear()" in certain event procedures with no luck. Does anyone have any advice or tips? Help is much appreciated. Thanks!

With VB, but I've got the few basics down, file naming, adding objects, naming objetcs, etc. But the reason I'm on here is because I cannot complete even the first step. Our form is 640 X 480, and we need to have two labels, both have vertical scrolls. I know how to add and resize the labels to meet my needs, but I do not know how to create scrolling labels. Or are they text boxes? On our bubble chart (Do you know what that means?) it says lblInformation. We are going to have clickable radio buttons which will update the lblInformation with info about each of the radio buttons.
View 7 RepliesFor those who have programs such as Skype, you may already be familiar with this action. Basically Skype and some other programs have a feature where when you move the form near the screen boundaries it jumps and "locks" into position into the corner of
the screen. To my understanding, Windows 7 seems to have this feature, but it is not as jumpy as Skype is. It seems you have to be within 20 pixels or so for it to work with Windows whereas Skype seems to work if you are near the corner.How would I go about moving the form near the corner and automatically relocating the form to that corner? For example, if I placed my program near the top left corner, how would I relocate the form to (0, 0)?
user control, I'm dynamically creating an arrary of several labels within a groupbox on the controls form. This is done in the load event.The user control is then placed on the form of mainapplication and then run. My problem being that the labels are invisiblen I launch the app. The visible property for the labels is set to true during the creation of the controls.

View 3 Repliesi am using an unbound datagridview so i can dynamiclly add rows. all that is working fine. but the grid is not is the location i have coded.. i am using the defualt form as a base then coding the unbound stuff in.. should i just create a blank class file and do everything? the only problem i am having is the grid must bees in the correct location according to the pixel point that i have given it. Right now it is placing the grid at point (0,0) no matter what point is entered on the line for location. so what am i missing??????
View 3 RepliesI have a number of textboxes and labels in a panel which has to scroll in order to view them all. The user is then able to scroll down and click on one of the labels which has a textbox that appears so the user can change the corresponding value in the label. For some reason, if the user has to scroll down at all to any of the labels that are initially out of view, when they click on the label the textbox appears far below as if it was at its initial position and not directly where the label currently is.

The number of questions, choices, and answers is all variable. Thus I am attempting to create labels dynamically to show the information on the screen and create textboxes to leave comments. My problem is not knowing how to then access these lables, since I can't code in to use "label_comments" & (i) as it doesn't exist (at least, I can't get it to work).

I'm creating a series of labels at run time based on an array of strings made earlier in the program, but when i run, the labels aren't showing. The program is form based and the co-ordinates for the new labels are well within the bounds of the formHere's the code I'm using:

This may be simple, but im having a tough go at it. I'm trying to make a "review" section in a step through form, where the user can see everything that has been entered and if they choose go back and "edit" that information again. One section only has to show the information that has been added by the user, basically if they don't select a certain checkbox there is no reason to display the info for that box.I want to to dynamically create labels in a Panel (Panel7) on a TabPage (TabPage3), only for the checkbox information that was selected. This is what I have right now, and I am unable to see anything on the page, I have also tried without the panel and straight onto the tabpage itself to no avail.

View 4 RepliesI am creating an electronic display board using Visual Studio 2005, this will be an application using VB and not web based.What I am trying to do is use labels dynamicly and populate them from a dataset, Now there is a lot of labels on this board and to be honest the perfect solution would be to use a Data Grid View, unfortuantly I have to fit the information into a Custom Graphic that was created, hence the reason for labels.So obliviously I dont want to have to name each label and specify its information, for example:

I have a form that has an array of dynamically created labels of varying size based on a search from a database. The problem I'm having is that when the user searches for a different term, it looks like some of the labels don't get new values. Here's my code for adding the labels:

I've tried for loop over the controls in panel1 to dispose of any still on there in both the page_load and page_init subs, but neither had an effect. I don't know if it might have something to do with controls having the same IDs after the postback.
In webbrowser, I am visiting a website that lists 10 items per page, I select "20 items per page". The webpage dynamically updates to display a list of 20 items.However when I view the webpage code it still shows 10 items. If I refresh the webbrowser, the code will show 20 items.

When I change the radio button, the label clears but continues to add on the last price from before, therefore giving the wrong "subtotal" as such.
I have tried Subtotal.Text = "" and Subtotal.Text = String.Empty but these only clear the label, not the number behind it.
I have made a program wherein you the labels are dynamically created with a press of a button. if you press on the label, the label would then change color from white to blue. my problem is that how will you make the backcolor of the label change when the button3 is pressed.

in my program I have a section that is outlined as listed below - in the page load, the label's visibility is set to false.

It takes about a minute or 2 to run updatedata as it is doing multiple things to a database - when I execute this code, it stalls and loads the data, then when done I do get my label that says loading complete, but I never see the label before it is done loading to tell the user that it is processing. Is there any way to force it to show before UpdateData() is called so that it shows during the load time?
Does anyone know how to make an event that will fire when the value from a label is changed? (In VB.NET)

So, the main problem for me is that I don't want to make a full postback with every combobox value changing. Is there some trick to overcome full postback?
