Forms :: Pop-up Window Was Moved But Its Image Still Left Behind

I'm using VS 2005 and .NET framework 2.0 SP2 to build an application with a datagridview in it. I'm using Microsoft Word 11.0 Object Library to do the spelling checker on one of the field in datagridview. When it detected a spelling and grammar window would pop-up open on top of the datagridview.
The problem I got was when I moved the pop-up window to the new location, there's still an image of the pop-up window left behind the previous location. The more I moved the more of those copied image would be created on screen.
I am writing a little program to convert LaTeX snippets to images which can be pasted into whatever program one can paste images into. It's working alright but the next obvious step is to include the source LaTeX code as a piece of metadata in the image so that the results can be modified without having to retype everything.
I have succeeded in adding a title PropertyItem with the latex encoded as an ASCII byte array as its value (id=800, type=2, value=System.Text.Encoding.ASCII.GetBytes(codestring)). I verify that the PropertyItem is really there before trying to put the image on the clipboard.
Then I do Clipboard.SetImage(myImage). The result is all of the PropertyItems are removed (my title plus anything else that was there)! I check this by doing MsgBox(Clipboard.GetImage.PropertyItems.Count.ToString) which gives zero.
This way, the copiedImage has the same PropertyItems as the original. However, new problem:
Other programs don't recognize what's on the clipboard as an image anymore, which defeats the whole purpose. I.e., if I put an image on the clipboard this way, when I try pasting into some context that accepts pasted images, nothing happens.
I am having a problem where I am on a text box and try to click a button that will bring up some reports. Since my cursor is still on the text box it doesn't go through the "Leave" and so what I entered into the text box is not saved (this happens in "Leave"). I have read previously not to use "Lost Focus" because it causes problems when you leave the form it triggers the "Lost Focus" on on the fields and just in general to use "Leave" rather than "Lost Focus". Is there a way to force my way through the "Leave"? I also don't know which field my cursor could be on (there are probably 20 text box or combo box fields on this form.
I need to get the color of the top-left pixel of the desktop window, here's my

But GetPixel always returns -1. I tried to get it to work using different coordinates (1,1 for example) but no luck. Does anybody know what might be the case?
P.S. Is there any alternatives for obtaining the desktop pixel colors?
I just started using VS 2010. This product is supposed to be so much better than VS 2008 yet I'm noticing a couple of glaring things that are failures if you ask me.
1. When designing a Gridview, after having clicked on Edit Columns, in VS 2008 I could select the first field listed on the left side of the window, set a property--say headStyle-- and set the Horizontal Align to Left. Then if I clicked on the next field, that same property would still be selected on the right side of the window. In VS 2010, I have to go through finding the property and then expanding it and selecting it for each individual field. While it seems like a small thing, it's time consuming and kind of a pain. Is there some reason they couldn't have made it behave the same as in VS 2008?
How can i draw text(demo demo) on exist image from top right corner to bottom left corner of exit image (on photo) in windows based applicaiton using vb.net.

I would like to display 2 forms side by side. Frm1 will call Frm2. The problem is, if Frm1 is too near the edge of the computer screen, when Fr2 is shown, part of it will be outside the screen. How do I make it so that if Frm1 is near the right-side of the screen then Frm2 will show on the left-side of Frm1 and vise-versa?
I have a fairly simple VScrollbar problem: the Scroll event triggers when ANY arrow key is pushed, including left and right... I need it to trigger only when up/down arrow keys are pushed (which, I hope, is the default behaviour).
Essentially all I do is declare a VScroll As System.Windows.Form.VScrollBar and later I have a Private Sub VScrollBar_Scroll (...) Handles VScroll.Scroll that manages the event.
I noticed also that the left/right arrow scrolling is by a smaller increment than the up/down scrolling. All of this seems to happen in a very "black box" kind of way, I can't find any way of determining what should trigger the scroll event.
Im building a, lets say kiosk, that has only one form of input and that is a keyboard. I've got an up/down/left/right arrows and the enter button. I have a form that needs to have hundreds of buttons. I've arranged all my buttons in a giant grid and want the user to use the arrows to navigate through the buttons. The button that is 'highlighted', lack of a better term, has different colors so we know which button we currently are on. So when the user hits the down arrow the button below the current button gets highlighted. My issue is that when the user hits the left and right arrows the 'cursor' doesnt move left and right it moves up and down.
The left and right arrows follow the tabindex sequence.
I have a specific image that I want my application to look for on a specific window. I've done something similar to this along time ago with VB6, but it was slow, and it was checking for specific points in the picture rather than the whole image itself (for speed reasons). I named this image "Image1.jpg" and I want to compare it to the window with the handle "001C08F2" and class "SunAwtCanvas"
My code is basically a file parser/editor and it handles most files fine as they hold a handful of records concerning family members. However there are a few files that crash when trying to deal with them. Here is the problem.Each family member record creates 3 tabs that hold an average of 3 group boxes each. Each group box holds an average of 3 text boxes.So each member record creates 3x3x3 = 27 text boxes and some files get up to 289 family members which = 7803 text boxes.
The problem is the rare file with 400+ member records = 10,800 text boxes which causes a crash due to using up all the window handles. Each member has a separate tab page (with 3 subpages) but really only a dozen or so member pages are visible in the GUI with scroll arrows to move through them so I was thinking of somehow making the GUI a scrollable window so the tabs get built, displayed and disposed as the user scrolls left and right through the member tabs.
The files are parsed into a 3d list DataList(x,y,z) where x is the page number, y is the group box number and z is the text box number. So all the data is available. The code then traverses MyList and builds GuiList(x,y) where x is the page number and y is the groupbox number with all the textbox.text linked to MyList(x,y,z) locations so all text changes are reflected in the MyList.
I already have a memberCount variable and I am thinking of building, say, the first 30 member tabs with the middle 10 being visible in the GUI. If the selected tab > 20, then dispose of the first 10 tabs and create tabs 30-40.I am thinking I will keep all the member tab pages so I don't have to deal with inserts and indexing problems but just dispose all the group boxes and text boxes for tab pages out of view. I already have a deep clone sub that clones members when the user wants to add a new family member and I am thinking I will have to add something similar when a tabpage is passed in for disposal, it traverses and disposes each text box, then disposes the group box for each group box on the tab page.Additionally, another routine will rebuild the group boxes from the data held in MyList(x,y,z) when a tabpage(x) is passed in.
if you guys have used office 2003 or better( i am sure all) then you would have seen that when the help window open it causes the active windows say of MS WORD to change accordingly so that this help windows fits with it along the right side and this functionality i want to implement in my VB windows application and have no idea how to do it Also i have seen this feature in GOOGLE DESKTOP GADGETS...
i want to implement that when my application opens which ever is the active window( of any application) snaps to the left and allows my application to fir in the right hand side i am developing my application in VS 2005 using Visual Basic.
I am trying to figure out how to make a .SubString get the characters from right to left not left to right.Say if a user enters 123456789 in text box 1 and I use textbox1.text.SubString(0,2) it will display 12. But, I want it to get 89.I do not want it to get 98, but 89. I tried textbox.text.substring (0, -2) but that just gives an error.So if Gold is entered it gets ld
I got a panel that i am adding labels to. I have autoscroll enabled on it so when they fill the viewable space it scrolls. but i need to put the labels to the left unviewable space(when left scroll is already at 0) The label is placed but i dont get the scroll bars and i cant force it to scroll to a - value.
Is this even possible? Same thing with UP.
Or is the Scroll only limited to Bottom and Right?
I am not able to find the Exclude Command in VB 2010 Express. I have no idea which version of Visual Studio it is working with. I've got one 217MB VB 2010 Express file and many 2008 VB Express files with one of them measuring 31 MB. There many other SQL files and .Net Files.
I am trying to find out if anybody know if tab pages on a form can be programmed to be moved by the user. For example I have 3 tab pages on a form and I was wondering if the user wanted to move the first tab page to the last and so forth, is the way to allow the user to do this?
as part of my alevel course i had to learn Pascal and now moved on to VB.NET.in Pascal there was a data type called 'real' where a number could have floating point values) my question is this; what in VB.NET is the equivalent to the Pascal real??
[code] Why doesn't the Patching Code work? (It doesn't move "fs" to the right position) [code] The code is suppose to use a FileStream to write bytes to another file. The part where it's suppose to write bytes works fine, but the part where it moves the FileStreams position isn't.
I'm trying to make a custom GUI and I made the title bar on MS paint and have it all setup all i need it the code snippit to make the window move when the image is draged to different places.
How can i get the image shown on a Directx Window (I mean a app the uses directx 5,8,9...) and then pic the image and transform this picture data in a text? I mean if there is any text or any number writen anywhere inside of it?
How would i go about stopping a form from being moved. I have the form border style set as FixedSingle and would like to keep it this way because it looks good in vista :)
