Dec 9, 2009Been a long time since my last thread but here we go.I'm using VS.NET 2010 Prof Beta at the moment and I'm trying to list all Nic Cards and their settings into a text box. I succeeded with a script from the web (which had an error in the first place) and some adjustments to it.
It lists all hidden devices too (as to be shown in Device manager: Show hidden devices) I worked my way around it and let it jump to next if it doesn't have a IP address, but I find this a bit clumsy and want to really skip them if they are hidden and not just the way I did this now.
Plus it still does show the same NiC (different name, same MAC#) in the list because it has an IP, but in Device manager this one is hidden.[code...]

Eg;Me.txtCode.DataBindings.Add(New System.Windows.Forms.Binding("Text", bsForm, "ToolCode", True)) (bsForm is the binding source)This works well except if the form control is hidden (I have a couple controls on the form that hold Record ID and Version numbers that the user doesn't need to see). Databinding doesn't seem to work reliably for hidden controls.

VS 2008 - Windows Dialog Forms Hidden But Not Closed

But there is one problem. If I call up the dialog form again, the form controls have the text values that were typed in during the previous instantiation and a class which is part of the form was not disposed. So it looks like the form is being "hidden" and not closed. I tried to use the code form.dispose but it didn't work.

Forms :: How To Add Text To RTB Without Replacing Existing Contents
Sep 14, 2011Not sure what I am doing wrong here but I have 2 buttons and a rich text box. The issue is when I click the second button to add text to the rich text box and it over writes the current text that is already in the rich text box. How can I code this second button so that the text is added to the rich text box and not replacing the current text?

Nov 29, 2010I have a form called 'Bookmarks' that loads a bookmark file that contains a single word on one line. I have put buttons on the form for sorting this list, deleting items and changing the character case to lowercase, uppercase or Sentence Case.Now, deleting and sorting the list works fine, but when I try to change character cases,nothing happens. I started the debugger and found that my case changing code does work, but the listbox doesn't seem to update it's contents.I tried listbox.Update() and listbox.Refresh() but that didn't work either.

Apr 19, 2009I started programming in VB2008 couple of weeks ago (I'm using the express version) and I'm getting stumped by this ridiculously simple problem. I am trying to retrieve varying parameters from an external application and display their values in real time on a windows form control e.g. a label or text box. I already know what class and methods to reference for that, however I can only display instantaneous values (unless I use a .click event handler, but thats foolish I want them displayed without my intervention) I tried writing a loop in form load event handler but that prevents the form from loading. I also tried a loop in another module but that doesn't work either.

May 10, 2011I am trying to create a code where I placed sets of numbers in an array.I'll use a masktextbox to have the user enter the numbers to match what's in the array. If the user enters the number, ex: social, and the data is correct (matches the numbers in the array), something happens if the number entered in the masktextbox does not match any of the number sets in an array then another thing happens.The masktextbox so far only validates format and gets number only, however, I want the number entered to match whats in the array.

Nov 9, 2009I am using VS2008 and creating forms. By default, the underscore of the character in a textbox when using an ampersand is not shown when I run the application. ex. "&Goto Here" is not underlining the G until I press the ALT key.Is there a way to have this underline the text that I put an ampersand in front of when the form/application starts instead of having to have the user press the alt key?

I have a Select all button that works, the only problem is that if you filter the data and press the select button it selects all the rows, not only the ones that are actually shown on the grid, and I need only the shown ones.

C# - Subsonic 3 - Namespace Hidden
Apr 17, 2009Followed Rob's webcast, did as he did, watched T4 generate the code, went to use the new namespace and oh. No namespace. I can see the namespace Test.Data in each of the generated .cs files, the tt files are included in the project as is subsonic.dll, there are no errors (I managed to get rid of a warning for the duplicate directives) but I just can't see the namespace. To test it out I am building a simple vb.net console application so wondering if there is a conflict there. Using v2.2 against the same db works fine.
