Forms :: Listbox Selection - Navigate With The Up And Down Arrows?

I have code to create a listbox and populate it, and would like the box to behave like it does when clicked, e.g. if you CLICK on "a" you see it blue and can press the down arrow to move down to "b". how do I achieve this programmatically?

this code SELECTS it properly, but I want to be able to navigate with the up and down arrows. how do I do this? thanks.

We have a winform application using Oracle DataAccessClient.There is a gridview and textboxes where we when we click on a row we can populate the textboxes to show more of the data so the user does not have to scroll horizontally.The code that does this is in the cell click event. We want to also do this if the user presses the up or down arrow. We put the code in the PreviewKeyDown event but we are getting the row that had the focus rather than the row that has the current arrow pointing to it. We searched the web at a lot of forums but we can not seem to locate how to do it. How do we move the focus to the row the arrow is pointing to in the grid? [code]

I have just made a simple application with a questionnaire. The questionnaire has all 40 questions in the same page (that was one of the specifications) which makes for quite a long form. On top of that, each question has its own group box and each group box has 4 radio buttons for the possible answers (in total 160 radio buttons).
I want the user to be able to scroll down using the up/down arrow keys. However, if he has just selected an answer, pressing the down key will only change the selected radio button (as is the expected behavior of a radio button).
How do I disable the selection of a radio button through the up/down arrows?

I have a listbox (20 Items) with multiselection and label that disply the selection and one button. So I wrote (it works fine)

I am using VB .NET. I want to know how to make the scroll-up and down arrows visible for my text boxes if the user wishes to enter more lines of text than the size of the text box can take. I would like the user to be able to scroll up and down after he/she has entered all the text.
How do I activate this property - should I be using some other control other than a text box for this?

I have a fairly simple VScrollbar problem: the Scroll event triggers when ANY arrow key is pushed, including left and right... I need it to trigger only when up/down arrow keys are pushed (which, I hope, is the default behaviour).
Essentially all I do is declare a VScroll As System.Windows.Form.VScrollBar and later I have a Private Sub VScrollBar_Scroll (...) Handles VScroll.Scroll that manages the event.
I noticed also that the left/right arrow scrolling is by a smaller increment than the up/down scrolling. All of this seems to happen in a very "black box" kind of way, I can't find any way of determining what should trigger the scroll event.

Im building a, lets say kiosk, that has only one form of input and that is a keyboard. I've got an up/down/left/right arrows and the enter button. I have a form that needs to have hundreds of buttons. I've arranged all my buttons in a giant grid and want the user to use the arrows to navigate through the buttons. The button that is 'highlighted', lack of a better term, has different colors so we know which button we currently are on. So when the user hits the down arrow the button below the current button gets highlighted. My issue is that when the user hits the left and right arrows the 'cursor' doesnt move left and right it moves up and down.
The left and right arrows follow the tabindex sequence.

I'm starting to learn arrays, but I'm a little bit confused on how to call the data listed in them.I have the following code in a module and was wondering how I call them in my forms.I was told to use a counter to keep track of where the User is in the code in order from them to navigate correctly. I'll be using Next and Previous buttons.

I'm guessing there is a really simple answer to this but i've spent the best part of 2 days trying to get it to work and cannot figure it out.Basically, I want is the webbrowser to point to a local folder on a machine. A different one depending on who is logged on. The code I have so far is as follows.

I cannot get the URL value of the webbrowser (FavProgs) to take the value of directoryname. If I set the URL value in the properties for FavProgs it does what I want it to do perfectly.

In my app I am using a web browser control, I am displaying a list of files that are there in selected Directory, when the file type is of some image I do it as WebBrowser1.Navigate(sFileName), the image is then displayed in the Web Browser Control, when there is Word Doc I had code that converts the word doc to HTML and it is displayed in the WB Control all good so far, now when the file is of type xls, xlsx I am not converting the file to HTML instead I just use the navigate command and open the file in Excel so that user can then edit it and save it on his system. Now the problem is lets say I am toggling through pages in Directory first file is Image so it will be displayed next when it is Excel file then it will open the file in MS Excel but the WebBrowser COntrol has that previously opened image, I want to clear that when the excel file is opened. So here is what I tried. [code]It navigates to Excel file but does not display text and the image from previous file persists in the web browser control.I even tried to navigate it to "about:blank" but it then does not navigate to Excel file.

We are using a web browser to show a pdf file located in a folder on the network. The code looks like this:
System.Windows.Forms.WebBrowser.Navigate(New Uri("\hostpath ofile.pdf"))
This works fine, but now I have to use a specific user to access this file and I don't know how to include the user name, password and domain in the URI. Is it posible to add user credentials to the URI? Can I use another variant of Navigate method to accomplish this?

I have a form with two web browsers. I have webbrowser1 navigate to a parent url and webrowser2 navigate to child url.
The page in webbrowser2 loads correctly but when I make a change to an element it doesn't also change the value in webbrowser1 as it should.
Should I be looking at cookies or something else?

I've been making a scheduling program using the calendar object.I can manage to select any date with a single click with a message box pop up entering a memo for the date selected. After pressing ok, the memo is displayed in a list box, with date.
1.Unfortunately the date is being displayed twice - perhaps because i used .selectedrange in the handler ? i would like it to be listed only once
2. the memo comes up on a separate line, ideally id like it to be displayed on the same line as the date.i tried ListBox1.Items.Add(whendate, memo) but it cant compile, so ive had to put each line in seperately
3. I would like to mark the sundays and national holidays in red color (the calendar is only set for a year so i dont mind doing them by hand, however the only tool i can find in the Monthcalendar1 properties is MonthlyBoldedDates, and no color assignment [code]

I am doing a lab where you have to connect to the database using the Database Configuration Wizard in Visual Basic (Visual Studio 2008). The database connection is there since the form will display the records.The problem is the user is supposed to be able to click on the combobox arrow to select a stock rating (high, low, etc) and then the listbox will display only the stocks with that rating. I thought this would work but nothing is showing up in the listbox.

I am creating a program with multiple Forms designed to track multiple projects.The first form is designed to setup new projects and obtain previous projects, from there the other forms open to be filled in with information.For new projects the next forms open blank but I then need these later forms to be tied to this project name so that it can be selected from a combobox and the information will be already populated.tieing the information on the later forms to the projects populated in the combobox so that it appears when a specific project is selected.Is this able to be done without creating databases?
As an example, say I create a new project then a new form opens and I add some information to a textbox.I would then like to be able to save the information so that the project name moves to the combobox on the first form (I can handle this) and the information input in to the textbox is tied to the project name so that when the program is reopened and the project name is selected the second form opens with the textbox populated.

ive just registered but ive been reading this forum before.I have a medium problem and an easy problem.
My project adds dates in runtime to a listbox.It can be any date inputed by the user so theres no way to know which date is at which position thats why the listbox index stuff for me is totally useless.Problem 1: if lets say a user types in a date into a textbox "27-03-2001, and press an "OK" button, i want to select that date automatically in the listbox if it exists.the only way ive found so far to programatically select an item is to use the index stuff which as i said is worthless for my situation as the comparison is a string,So, how can i select an item from the listbox using a string to item comparison?
Problem 2: Dates in the listbox are dd-mm-yyyy format so they dont arrange properly, is there anyway i can make the listbox sort the items counting from right to left instead of left to right? because that would solve my problem as it would be like inverting the date itself while sorting.
if you can answear any of these 2 problems please dont hesitate to comment about it, if its possible or not and if it is how i can do it.Both problems are at the same importance for me
