Forms :: Make A Download Dialog For Web Browser In Tabcontrol
Oct 23, 2010
I was woundring how to make a custom 'download' dialog for my web browser in vb 2010. Because when i click 'download file' in my tabcontrol it's always loads up the IE download file dialog. I have seen the IE Clone can do it, but i didn't uderstad how to do it.
The specific features I want to produce is it doesn't place on the form, it places in the little box at the bottom and when CustomUserControl.Show() is called it shows as a dialog boxI'm sorry if I misspelled something or my grammar is wrong, I've never done well in those subjects.
In Vb.Net 2005, how is it possible to make the TabPage.Text to appear when the DrawMode of a TabControl is set to OwnerDrawFixed. I have even tried to set the TabPage.Text in the Form_Load event but of no avail.
I have an assignment due this week in which I have to make a app that has 5 buttons and a picture box. When each button is clicked it has to show the corresponding picture in the picture box, the fifth button closes the app.
I have the whole form set up the way it should be, but I have no idea how to write the code to make the buttons display the images and close the app.I have the images in a folder within the project folders.
I have yet to be able to find one, the one I found should how to do it using a file opener dialog and a folder browser dialog but that is not what I think my prof wants us to do, as that is more for a picture viewer app that lets the user choose the file of the image they want ot view.
All i want is for the buttons to be linked to specific photos that are part of the application itself and have them open.
I'm courtneyI'm working on a Web Browser (Yeah I know, so 2000 years ago)I'm attempting to launch my OWN download manager (refered to as downManager in my code) in the WebBrowser.FileDownload event, via determination of the WebBrowser.DocumentType.My current code is as follows: CODE
How would I make my web browser accept only file paths? It's a little import manager for a program that I am making, allowing the user to import files, but I dont want but reports that say that they can access google or something through it.
I have created a application in vb.net. I am using Web Browser control in it.With this Web Browser control I open an URL and tries to Download something, it will populates an dialog for "File Download" to Open/Save/Cancel for the file..I am downloading the .ZIP file, and it will not show the checkbox for Automatically Do.Is there any way to perform the Download operation at the backend, means it will not ask me for such options.
I have a form with a webbrowser control on it, and I load up a local file in it with some code for a rotating banner (so I can support my app with advertising). The problem I'm having is, it is for example, a banner ad in the small banner sized control, when the user click's it, it loads the new page within the same control, which is way too small.I'd like for any click in the control to load up the link in IE itself, outside of my app. Putting target=_blank so far hasn't helped. Below is the code that I am loading up in my control.

<!--//
I'm working on a web browser with tabbed browsing, however..When a new tab is created, it creates a web browser in it - but I want a function called when the browser is finished loading. I can't create a private sub inside a function, So I am not sure what I should do.
My Code:
Function addtab() Dim myTabPage As New TabPage() Dim theweb As New WebBrowser
Is there a way to launch a Modeless Dialog that stays active even when a Modal Dialog is launched? Can I put the Modeless Dialog in a seperate Thread or something like that?
I often use the process of displaying a dialog from a form, with the dialog user input then used to update the main form without any problem. In a new scenerio I launch the main application screen, I then show a login dialog ontop of the main app screen and can launch another dialog from the login if a new user is required. The plan is to update the login dialog (updating a combobox to reflect the addition of a new user) from the new user dialog.
See code below :-
'Update login forms user list as new user added successfully frmRoomBookingLogin.cboLogin.DataSource = Nothing frmRoomBookingLogin.txtPassword.Text = "Updating password from dialog" MessageBox.Show("The password text is " & frmRoomBookingLogin.txtPassword.Text)
[code]....
The messagebox implies the dialog has been updated yet the text does not change. Is it possible to update the dialog when using a setup such as Form -> dialog -> dialog? I'm intrigued as why the dialog does not reflect changes. I have never refreshed/repainted the dialog as never required to in my other examples when updating a form from a dialog and never encountered a problem when using a two tier form setup.
I'm making a web browser using TabControl...I need some codes Make the button that "go's" execute when clicking enter, aswell as pressing the button itself.A right click menu, aswell as Copy , Paste, and Cut functions Code to print the current page on tab control. and how to add bookmarking (through a top menu strip)
I was wondering whether or not I could create a web browser using the webbrowser and the tabcontrol to make it where I could add tabs like in the newer browsers. Or should I just create a bunch of buttons with images and a combo box as my webbrowser?
I am currently working on an application to automate file download(s). My main application is running a query for downloads with embedded browser. When the results are returned they need to be downloaded and saved. This works fine. The last step of the process it to start download and the 'File Download' dialog pops up. I wanted to create another application that would monitor for the 'File Dialog' windows (knowing the main application Process ID I can ensure that I find only the dialogs generated by my application).
I am using webbrowser control to navigate and download file.what i am doing is when i click download button on my webbrowser control to download file,it give me popup to save or open file and after clicking save button it give me save as dialog box for where to save.
Now what i want to do is when i click on download button in my webbrowser control ,i want file to be downloaded in some folder in my pc (suppose in D:/temp/) without above stated two folder.the file i am trying to download is csv file.
I have a dialog which opens another dialog. The problem is that the second dialog opens behind the first. Is there a way to stop this from happening? I tried bringtofront with no success.
In my form I have added a webbrowser that will navigate into a URL and that URL ends with an extension (.zip) now my problem is that I want to disable the File Download Dialog in order to download it without interruption .N.B : I don't want to use the HTTP CLIENT because I need the webbrowser to navigate to another page after downloading the file.
Atm i have a webbrowser navigate to that url and then a save dialog popsup, default to IE i think. How would i get this file to download without a popup dialog ?
I have the following code that generates a csv file on a button click. [Code] What I want to do is open a download dialog box that will allow the user to open or save that file it has just created.
Below code is opening Folder Browser dialog on button click, I want that if mine PC is in network..In Folder Browser Dialog even the network drives are coming,I want that Network Places do not come in treeview.
Option Strict On Option Explicit On Option Compare Text Public Class Form1
I open a word document in webbrower, but some File Download dialog box opens up with three buttons Open, Save and Cancel. I always wants to open the document directly instead to click on open button.
I'm writing an app where a user selects a folder on the network for a job to deposit output into. The person setting up the job will not necessarily be the same person who runs the job and that the job will not be ran on the same machine so I need to keep the path in UNC format. I can get the user to "see" the network when the FolderBrowserDialog runs by pointing the route folder at the desktop folder.
The issue is that if the network share is local even though the user has selected the folder through the network folders it returns the local path!! Which of course means that when the job is run on the other machine it can not find the folder specified.
E.g. The user on machine1 selects the network share \machine1jobsmyjob but the dialog returns C:work2010JobsClientjobsmyjob. machine2 then runs the job and looks for C:work2010JobsClientjobsmyjob and can not find it then throws an error.
As you can see from the above example I can't just replace c: with the local machine name as the share may not be in the root of the drive. I did think about parsing the text and changing it to \machine1c$work2010JobsClientjobsmyjob but this would mean I'd have to allow all the users to have admin access to our servers which is a non starter.if there is a way to switch off this behaviour in the dialog?
dim myDialog as new FolderBrowserDialog With myDialog .Description = "Browse to Job destination" .ShowNewFolderButton = True
I'm making a program that presses a button in a browser. When you click it it gives a confirmation message, I want to control the message to say yes. Here is the code that triggers a popup from the web browser:[code]
I have an app that displays a folder browser dialog. Before displaying it I would like to set its size but I cannot find any methods or attribute that will allow me to do so, either in the object itself or any class that it inherits from.
The only solution I can think of is to use the SetWindowPos windows function. Before I go down that road, can anyone verify that it is not otherwise possible to programmatically resize the dialog?
If it's not possible, then in vb.net to use a windows library method, do I declare it like this:
Private Declare Function SetWindowPos Lib "user32" (ByVal hwnd As Long, ByVal hWndInsertAfter As Long, ByVal x As Long, ByVal y As Long, ByVal cx As Long, ByVal cy As Long, ByVal wFlags As Long) As Long and use it, or does .net offer another way to access the windows library?
theFolderBrowser.Description = "Please select a folder for the download." theFolderBrowser.ShowNewFolderButton = False theFolderBrowser.RootFolder = System.Environment.SpecialFolder.Desktop theFolderBrowser.SelectedPath = My.Computer.FileSystem.SpecialDirectories.Desktop If theFolderBrowser.ShowDialog = Windows.Forms.DialogResult.OK Then Me.TextBox1.Text = theFolderBrowser.SelectedPath End If
I added the above code in the button click event and it worked perfectly.I have created a folder in d:movieshorror. Now i want to make the horror folder present in the path mentioned above as the root folder(not the desktop)Then sir what will be the following two
