I have 2 textboxes one for datetime picker and another for entering the name. i waant to make the datetime textbox invisible when the form is executed & when i press save the data from both textboxes should be saved into the database.

View 5 RepliesSo I have a program that only has one form in it, this form is just an "About" window that appears when a specific context menu item is clicked from the system tray icon (NotifyIcon) that is on the form.
All I want to do is make it so that when the program is launched, the form is not displayed at all and just the system tray icon appears.
I have accomplished this by doing the following but just wondered if there is a better/easier way?
1. Set the Opacity of the form to 0 in the designer
2. Set the ShowInTaskBar property to False in the designer
3. Use a timer that is started in the form Load event to call Me.Hide after 1 second
Then when I want to show the form I just set the opacity back to full and call Me.Show
I want my form to be invisible but I want the buttons and list-box to still be visible. So basicaly I want a bunch of floating buttons and listboxes on my screen.

When the second bgworker starts to work, an operation me.invoke is called to show a message, but when the code reachs the comand, the system give me this exception : impossible to call invoke or begininvoke method without a form handle.The me.invoke method is called during the dowork fase of the bgWorker.

I have a form (Form1 class) which has got a "next" button (like we have setup wizards) which shud take me to other form. Now that other form has two buttons , next and back , and it shud take me to the previous and the next form. And I want to preserve the states of each form. The reason that I ask is because I need to store some data about each node in a treeview control, but I am already using the node's tag value to store an object that represents a "SuperToolTip" which is a control in DevComponent's DotNetBar utility. So I do not want the tooltip to be visible, since I am already displaying a more feature rich tooltip for each node. The problem is, only one form is getting executed when I try to debug.I have changed the startup form to other forms(from a list of existing forms), but still that same old form is getting executed, even if I delete that form or exclude it from the project, it still keeps on executing.
Where this form is stored?(I deleted it from the folder where all other forms exist)
in my form, i have a textbox in which its visible property is set to false. this textbox is bound to my table's primary key column.
whenever i try to add a new record, it automatically generates a value and i can see that when the visible property is set to true. now when i set it to false and do a messagebox.show(textbox.text), it shows no value. so i set the visible to true and then the messagebox does show a value.
i don't want this textbox shown in my form but i need to get the value from the textbox when the primary key value is generated.
how can i do this without showing the textbox?
I was using 2 forms, the first one has general data capture and the second one is a calendar form. On Form1 I have mulitple windows controls. A Textb ox and beside a Calendar button. When I click on a Calendar Command button, it should open calendar form and once the user selects the date, the date should be placed in the text box on the form1. Identical to this on Form1 I need multiple textboxes that needs date to be captured.I cannot use a global variable for this as I need to validate mulitple text boxes. To explain this, I have a Transaction Date and Date Received. I need to validate whether Transaction date is prior Date Received or not? I dont want to use several global variables b'coz I might need multiple validations as above. Please help me on this.
