Forms :: Put A Link When Creating An Outlook Task?
Jul 30, 2009
when i create an outlook task, i want to insert a link with a custom string... e.g. see screenshot:
instead of the left screen, i would like to come up with the right screen.
Imports xOutlook = Microsoft.Office.Interop.Outlook
Public Class Form1
Private Sub Button1_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click
i'm relatively new to outlook task creation from visual basic.when i create an outlook task, i want to insert a link with a custom string..url...instead of the left screen, i would like to come up with the right screen.by the way, i'm using visual studio 2005, microsoft outlook 2003 and outlook interop from outlook 2003.[code]
My mailbox regularly gets emails from people wanting to promote their events. Usually the subject line looks like this:
fwd: come to *TMC* meeting this weekend, <5/19/2012 @ 1300 >
I need a script to read the date, then make an appointment on my outlook calendar, using that date, time and term (TMC) as the meeting title. So it should make an appointment on 5/19/2012 at 1pm, called "TMC meeting"All appointments are 2 hours by default.I used The identifiers "*" and "<>" as an example, and can be changed to be whatever, what is important is that the meeting gets on my calendar with the correct title.
I'm using Outlook 2000 and I'm trying to access data held on a customised Outlook task form held in a public folder.I'm using the following code to get at what I need, and can see certain values via objTask, but I can't see where I get at other 'fields' used on the form. One of the fields, for example, is called "CC Ref", but I can't find where I can get at it.
My app has some labels with email adresses, what i want to do is some kind of linklabel but instad of oppening an internet adress, i want it to open, for example, outlook, with the adress in the destination field (many programs does so), also, it would be fine if i can personalize a default email subject and text, but if i can open the program and put the adress i am already happy enough
I am currently creating a task manager. But there is a problem : After killing the processes, it still remains in my list box (list of processes).I don't want to use a timer to clear the list and add the list of processes again because this will cause the list to blink.[code]
To create a scheduled class, I call the schtasks command from my code, passing it the necessary arguments.Yet, I can't really figure out how to create a task without the user having to input his password.
Working in Access 2003 with VBA, I am trying to create an appointment, turn it into a meeting and then send out invites to people. Below is the code I am using.
Public Function CreateAppointment(myRecipient as String, mySubject As String, myLocation As String, myStartTime As Date, numMinutesLong As Integer) As Boolean Dim olApp As Outlook.Application
[Code].....
When I try to run it, the appointment is displayed with everything filled out but when I send it I get the message "Operation failed".
Im in the process of creating a task loggin system for my work, and im in the final stage now of tidying the design etc, and i have a text area where a scroll bar is visible but disabled, is there a way to remove the scroll bars completly and when the user goes passed a certain line make them appear? i no i could say scroll bar = false but i wont it to appear when it hits a certain line.
Imports Microsoft.Office.Interop Public Class Form1 Public Sub SaveAttachments() Dim objOL As Outlook.Application
[code]....
This is my code. When i am tryng to run it in my VB editior i got the errors
1.Outlook.Application, Outlook.MailItem,Outlook.Attachments,not definedWarnings as Warning1Namespace or type specified in the Imports 'Microsoft.Office.Interop' doesn't contain any public member or cannot be found. I believe that this is in the correct forum due to it being about creating an interface item, but if I am wrong then let me know and I'll try and bring this thread to the attention of the mods to be moved to a more appropriate forum. I am currently trying to create a generic navigation control with a similar style to the outlook navigation bar. I have figured out how I would be able to dynamically create the bottom part where you select the menu option, but I'm struggling to figure out how I would be able to create the top part, which can contain any user control that the developer would want.
So basically what I'm trying to figure out is, is there a way to allow for a developer to add controls to a specific area of your user control? If there is a way of achieving that then if anyone knows how to do this;In ASP.Net you have the login controls and with one of them, you are able to have different views depending on whether the user who is viewing the web page is logged in or not. Is there a way of achieving this in VB.Net for a user control that could be set up so that I could have the developer able to switch the view in the designer to show them the view for when a specific navigation option has been selected.
The one thing that I have thought of that could possibly cause a problem is having the capability of knowing when one of the user controls has been clicked, while I haven't figured this out exactly, I believe I should be able to achieve this by having an event for the navigation user control that provides the developer a reference to the control.
While I would hope that I have explained what I'm thinking well, its before my first coffee of the morning so I might have missed out some detail which would help someone to help me if I have then please let me know and I'll provide any details required. Also if what I'm envisioning is Pie in the sky, then let me know and I'll just have to make a base which I would just have to make a more bespoke system.
I am creating simple mail without any atach using Microsoft.Office.Interop.Outlook. Mail is successfully created and opened, but after this button 'Attach File' does not work (it could be clicked, file could be selected but it is not attached). Here is simple code:
Is it possible to code a program so that the name displayed in the Task Manager can be changed mid-process?I have searched for it but everything I found was either someone wanting to hide the name or was for VB6.I am developing a program that will be run in a dozen instances at the same time. There will be two (2) user input forms followed by a processing form containing nothing but a third-party component that we are forced to use to capture our data. What I am trying to do is change the name after the user input to indicate which instance this particular program is. That way, if the third-party component hangs, we will know which instance to kill.
I am trying to create a link in a user area of my website. After logging in, the users info is passed to the allow access to specific areas of the site. What I would like to do is create an html link that is controlled by a conditional statement.
for example, after a user logs in, I want to check whether they have credentials to click on a link which will allow them to advance to something new. If they don't have the credentials, the link will be blocked out or not appear at.I am looking for a place to start on this task, any documentation or keywords would be helpful. Also code samples would help greatly.
I am new to Office programming. I am trying to automate sending Infopath forms through Outlook. The form must be displayed in the body of the e-mail, which the customer can fill in and send it back. I am able to do this manually by selecting File->New->Choose Infopath Form through Outlook.
I am currently creating a clock like the "24" clock, i have made the numbers using the drawing tools within Visual Basic, i was just wondering how i can link the current time to corrospond with the shapes i have drawn?
So i'm creating a simple application as an example that is to link to a Access 2007 database.
On my main form i have four listboxes that are correctly attached to the table, I have one for First Name, Last Name, Phone, and School. I added 3 records to the database in Access to see if I could display the records in the listboxes on the form. I found that it was very easy by setting the properties and I have no problem there. I also have a command button that loads a new form for the purpose of adding a record to the database.
Here is my main form (frmMain.vb)...
CODE:
And Here is the code for the form...
CODE:
What i'm looking for is when the user presses the Add button on the frmAddNew form then it needs to close and the new record is listed in the textboxes and saved to the database. Id also like to know all kinds of things i might be able to do with textboxes and databases because i'm trying to learn for a larger project where i'll need to keep track of hundreds of records.
I understand that this is a simple procedure, but i've been spending all night scouring tutorials and getting lost in the msdn library online, so maybe some human input will be better.
I ran across some legacy code which creates a link to a file on the web server and offers the user a link to download the file.
Machine name: MYSERVER [URL]
Full url path to the directory containing the file to download: [URL]
Target file name: downloadable.txt
The code does the following to create a link to 'downloadable.txt' server.machinename.tostring & ".. argetdownloadable.txt"
Which results in: "MYSERVER.. argetdownloadable.txt"
That link appears on the page as: <a href="MYSERVER.. arget.downloadable.txt">download this file</a>
In IE 7, mousing over the link shows the full URL "[URL]" in the status bar. And it works fine for downloading the file in IE 7 (left or right-click). Firefox shows "[URL]" in the status bar and downloading the file isn't as straight forward. FF actually tries to change the file name to include the server name and target directory in the file name.
I've tried other methods like WebClient.DownloadFile() and had no success. This works, but I'm unfamiliar with the ".." and curious about how it works. I understand that ".." typically means go up one directory. My question was really more in the line of "how does that get interpreted in the browser to sort out the path?"
i'm trying to build websites crawler and i having a bit of problem creating recursive function to get all the site link, provide a link to an example ?
This is my first post. So there goes it. I have been trying to make an appointment calendar with different views ( weekly, daily, hourly, monthly) in my windows form application using VB express 2008. I have tried using a tablelayoutpanel and splitting it so each cell will correspond to a date in the monthcalendar control. My problem is how to link the two together. How to select a cell in monthcalendar and assign it to a cell in the tablelayoutpanel. I can do this when selecting a date but I would want all to be loaded when form is loaded. My end result would look similat to the calendar on this forum.
I'm using VB 2010 and simply want to have a button on the form that says Minimize.I want the form to minimize to the task bar or the notification section .I've looked at other ideas, but the code is for prior versions of VB (2003 and 2005) and some for C #Could you please email me some sample code to handle this?
I'm looking forward to reading and adding more to the community here. I've created a text based rpg. Next semester we are learning Visual Basic. I'm on winter break and I would like to get a head start on my learning. I've been working on creating some forms and message boxes. What is throwing me off, is that I have a good feel for doing coding so that I get functionality the will produce effects in a console. Coding the forms is a bit confusing for me. Is this something that others have run into? Is their some good primers for VB? I don't have my text books yet.
VB and I am assigned to make some modifications in a simple game developed using VB...for the desired changes, i have to create a new windows form , put some buttons on it and link them to the main and other subroutines in existing windows form
Is it possible to create a custom start menu shortcut link?
The only possibilities I see in the setup project are shortcuts to folders or primary output.
Update:
What I ended up doing is creating a custom action on commit that dynamically creates the link using Windows Scripting Host. Then on uninstall, removing the link.
First I dont know how to "link" forms easily. For example: Form1 is like a calculator and I get value X (label.text). How can I "sent" that X to form2? I mean like: Form2.label1.text = form1.label1.text but it doesnt work like that. And I know why it doesnt work.. I dont know how to save that X. Every time I close and open again Form1 I had to start over. So how to save and link forms? Then another: what's wrong with this? Or how I could make it another way? Textbox2 should be numeral (should I code something for it?) and user can set it's value. Now it doesnt show anything in label5. [code]
