This is not to manage my own application's GDI leak but another that runs in conjunction. Basically, I want to know if the number of GDI objects for a given process has reached a certain limit. I just need a pointer to the right direction. Should I be doing a "stack walk"?

The output should be the number to calculate to and how much time did it take in mili-seconds (timer interval set to 100). I have a vb.net application which runs as a service. I also have another Windows application that serves as the service interface.In brief the service watches some folders for new files and imports them into various databases. In the service I have an class called 'importFile' containing basic properties such as 'FileName' and 'ImportStatus'. With each new incoming file I create a new instance of 'importFile' and add it to a list object called myFiles which is of the type: List (of importFile).Currently in my service im writing a few object details (such as ImportStatus) to an XML config file which is in turn read by the service interface application. I want to expose more information from the service to the interface, and communicating via xml doesn't feel like its the most efficient method.My question is how do I expose live objects, such as 'myFiles' in my service to my interface application? I think this can be done via the Process class but all my efforts have so far failed.I'm thinking that the solution may look something like the following, but im not too sure what im doing and could be way off:

I have written a windows service that is meant to launch a notepad when a specific action happens. The problem i have is that even though the service launches notepad, the actual notepad it self is NOT visible. I know that it has been launced because i can see the process in the task manager. By the way the process is listed as a SYSTEM process rather than a process under my user name (i believe that is because my process is a "LocalSystem" one).

I can easily read the value of the updated_time with:
post.updated_time
However this returns the count of items in the collection, not the value of the "count" property in the json object.
post.comments.count
Is it possible to get the value of post.comments.count without it using the "count" keyword?
I should note that the JSON is much larger than this. If there are actually comments there is another collection of the actual comments so something like post.count(0) would not work in that case.

Declare some class level variables that will keep track of the sums for each column. For example:

During the RowDataBound event, retrieve the data from each column and add it to the appropriate sum. I'm not sure if you are developing an ASP.NET application or a Win-forms desktop application so I cannot help you any further at this point. What have you tried so far to solve the problem?

It seems to work 90% of the time. However, sometimes the PID.Kill() fails because it says the process already exited. At this point the OSK is always still there on screen. Yes, I know my code should be testing to see if the process is still running before trying to kill it, but given that the OSK is still on screen..
