May 26, 2008how to do this for vb6 however i am using vb 2008 and the code for vb6 does not seem to work.
I have designed a form with a text box on it, and a command button underneath. The idea is to run this as a sort of stiky notes section.
I want the text box to read rich text into the textbox (C:\\stickynotes.rtf")
Then i have a command button underneath which i want to save the content of the rich text box to the rtf file (C:\\stickynotes.rtf). This is so that the user can edit and ammend information.
here is some code i have so far

under the code I pasted at the top, but I get the text on line1 in all labels, like all labels become 1, while the text should be 1, 2, 3 and so on. So anyone can help me do that, each label gets the value of the next line in the txt file

May 21, 2009I need read the text file line by line and matche if i find value from one part match with another part then i need to copy the matching line and paste side by side.
For example first i need to read the line from part called top

My question is how to make the above program to read the whole line insteed of reading just the specified portion. The ouput for the above code is:

Neither the StreamReader nor StreamWriter have a method for replacing or removing Text from a text file, as does the string object. Are there any available methods for erasing just certain lines of text from a file, and then replacing them with others?
In my code, I'd like to locate a certain line in the text file, and then at that point in the text file, use a For...Next Loop to replace each successive line of the text file with new text:

Recently I've gotten by by creating separate text file for each line (such as a text file named, "Username", another named "Password", instead of creating a single text file with both the user name and password.)
