After writing to excel, most of the cells in excel are correct. But some of the cell's text comes as ####### however if I click on the cell, formula bar shows the correct result.
I need some help displaying the contents of a cell in excel into a combo box. I've been able to display if the contents of excel are numbers but can't seem to figure out how to display text.
I have use microsoft Excel Sheet ..I've fell different Values in excel sheet there is no problem..but i've fell some numeric Columns like this (00023785678).. in this columns first zero is not get it..so i went to change the column in cells format of text..

Every week I generate a CSV report that adds an extra space to the beginning of my date column. Because of the extra space, Excel recognizes the date as text and will not format the information as a date. I have tried the Right() function but once Excel recognizes the date as text, it will not convert to a date. Can I programmatically address this issue in VBA and how?
I want to display image next to the text in each row in a datagridview. I have searched the net in the past 1 hour, but no big success. I know, that I must override the cellpaint event, but how?
This time I need to import text into a excel cell from vb.net controls such as a textbox ,I want the text in the cell should display in two or three lines . For example, text from textbox was "ABCDEFG", I want that it could display in the cell like
I am using decimal numbers to be able to sort correctly in Excel; however I want to have a column where they are displayed as fractions. I have made a function to convert them to fractions as text ( 1.625 converts to "1 5/8 dia."). I would like to make the 5 superscript and the 8 subscript. I can do this manually by highlighting the number and formatting, but I would like to do this in code.
My program parses chat room text. In the room there are smileys that get displayed. What I'm trying to do is parse out the image URL, download the image and put the smiley in the correct spot between the text of the message.I can do the parsing and downloading of the image into the datagridview but this only works of the column is set as an image column. Obviously due to the nature of the program I need to be able to put both text and images into the same cell. How can I do this?
i'm using this code to display datagrid cell value in rich text box
Code
Dim rowtoselect = DataGridView1.CurrentRow rowtoselect.Selected = True rowtoselect.Cells(1).Selected = True
[Code].....
but i want to the richtexbox to display the cells 0 , 1 not only cell 1 i want the rich text box to display the whole cells of the row not just one cell of it
I am exporting text to a worksheet with fixed column widths and there instances where the text in the cell does not fit and will obviously overlap to the cell on the right.
I'd like to prevent that overlapping by reducing the font size of the cell if it is necessary. The problem is how to check if the text does not fit.
To set the text of the excel cell to an multiline text i have used "sometext" & Environment.NewLine & "sometext".but it adds an space at the end of the first line
I'm attempting to copy cells, one at a time, from an Excel 2003 (or 2007) spreadsheet to a Word 2003 (or 2007) table. I'd like the code to be version-agnostic, and so am using late binding. The formatting of the contents of the Excel cell, such as color, underline, strike-through, needs to be preserved. My approach is to use a Word doc as a template. It has a table at the top which I can copy to the end of the doc, add rows as needed, and fill in the word table cells with the data from the excel spreadsheet. Unfortunately, all the formatting disappears. All I get is the text itself.
I have user form that copies data form on excel sheet to anther after the paste takes place.I need to perform a cleanup process. If the cell Value = N/A or the Cell formating is Strike thruIt need to1) Cut the Entire row 2) Shift the Row up3) Then paste the cut row into an anther sheet in the workbook
I need to display the column header and cell value of the clicked cell in the data grid. For example if I click Argentina from the country column, the text box will display country = Argentina. So far the code I have is, please help me figure out the code for displaying the information in the text box
Private Sub DataGridView1_CellClick(ByVal sender As
I have and form that Copies form on excel sheet to anther after the Paste takes place I need to perform a cleanup process. I need to cut the entire row, Shift Rows up, and paste it in anther sheet in the workbook if the value is N/A or the formatting is strike Thur. I am having trouble figuring out the code here is where I got to.
'Declared Stuff Dim wbTemplateSAS As Excel.Workbook Dim rangevalue As String = LastRowtx.Text - FirstRowtx.Text + 9
I would like to update an Excel cell using the cell name, such as "A1", instead of using the row and column, such as (3,2). I haven't been able to do it. Here is the code I used to update the cell by row and column. How would this code be updated so that it updates the cell by cell name instead?
The problem is that if you never enter anything into a cell for a new row then that cell is never validated. This is a problem because I have columns that should not be null. I am doing the check in the row level validation and storing the information about which cells are empty that should not be empty. The row level validation works fine and the row level validation error indicator goes on,(red exclamation mark at the beginning of the row) but I also need a visual indicator on the individual cells that are in error.
I am thinking that setting the HasError property for the cells that are in error should cause them to display n error style (the default red border). Is there a way to this this either from XAML (perferably) or from code?Alternatively I could cause those cells to re-validate when the row editing is finished. Does anyone know how to do this?
I'm using something call ultragrid in my program. The program works as a mini-record keeping area (Like any datagrid, really). Well, I am adding a history to it and it allows the user to see the last 50 records searched. They get a grid showing the records. This, thus far, works perfectly What I want to do is this: I want to select a record (A cell) in the column 'Dog and have the text of that cell appear in a textbox. This is what I've tried with no success.
HTML Private Sub HistoryTextBox_TextChanged(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles HistoryTextBox.TextChanged If ugHistoryButton.ActiveRow.Cells("Dog").Selected = True Then
[code]....
It just doesn't seem to want to transfer over when I select the cell in the 'Dog' column.
I have a project that has a need to display a Excel file in second window, but because other controls are needed, simply launching excel is not sufficient. Right now I do not know if the target machines have excel installed but I know with certainty that if they do it would be 2010, is there any method or library that allows you frame your own form around an excel window?
I am building an ordering system for my job. The idea is that the customer will put in a stage name for an item. That stage name is then interpreted by the program. The product id and the amount the customer wants to order is placed in a list box on the form. There are a couple of buttons, ADD, REMOVE, CLEAR, and EXPORT. The user input is handled by input boxes. When the user pushes the EXPORT button, excel should open and list out the interpreted product codes with the corresponding amount to order. I can get excel to open, but I can not get excel to display more than one line. It will display the first product, but then it comes up with an unhandled exception.I can not figure out how to get excel to return down a row and display the next product within the list box.
So I've got this Excel sheet of employees which have all the information about them. I'm trying to import this info into AD, but in order to do that I need to get the username for these users as well. And I would like vba code or vb.net code that basically takes the value of every row in column D and looks for it in AD and returns the username and adds it to column A. Would something like this be possible?
I have an excel sheet where one column consist of comma seprated hyperlinks. However, I am unable to see a way to insert more that one hyperlinks in an excel cell. Is there a workaeround this?
I am using Visual studio 2008.I have an application that reformats an excel spreadsheet. One of the operations is to copy the contents of the cells from the source to the target sheet. One of the columns has numbers. In excel, if the column is not wide enough, it will display the numbers as "###". For instance, if i have a number 99 and the column is not wide enough, it displays "#" in that cell. The problem is that when I copy this cell to my target sheet, I get "#" and not 99.
I'm trying to make a class that reads data from an excel file, which is going to have 3 columns and any number of rows.I made a property named Data, which is supposed to return an array of Strings of all the cells in the Excel file. My problem is that I cannot convert a Excel.Range, containing a cell, into a String. I've Bolded the part of the code that causes the error.
I am using vb.net. I have following weird problems:If I comment DGVCusClient.Rows.Add(), the cell in ("column1",0) does not display data. But in debug, I can see that the first cell has data assigned. If I do not comment DGVCusClient.Rows.Add(), the cell in ("column1",0) displays its data correctly. However, it adds the row on the top for the first time. Except for the first row, it adds rows to the bottom as usual.
Dim i As Integer = DGVCusClient.CurrentRow.Index If Not ContainRecord(tempCusid, tempCltid) Then Dim i As Integer = DGVCusClient.CurrentRow.Index DGVCusClient.Item("Column1", i).Value = "a"

I am trying to save an object (Class1) as string in a cell value. My issue is that from time to time I have a ComException:HRESULT: 0x8007000E (E_OUTOFMEMORY)(It is kind of random but I have not identified any particular pattern yet) when I write the value into a cell. Any ideas will be welcome
For illustration purposes: Let Class1 be the class to be converted to an Xml string. (Notice that I removed the xml declaration at the start of the string to avoid having the preamble present- non printable
