I want to change the row color of every row in my DataGridView where a particular column value = "RBF3". I am currently using the DataBindingComplete event which seems to work fine, but it fires every time I change a cells value. I'd like for this bit of code to only fire when the datagridview is first displayed, sorted, or filtered. Is this possible?

i need bit of support in my vb coding. i've publish data onto a datagrid(in vb express 2010). i just want to highlight entire row once the search data is found(in lime color) and color should be remain in that particular row when searching next records. so that user would easily know which records are searched and which are not by looking @ the color.
View 2 RepliesI have a ListView that I populate with running processes and would like to highlight specific rows based on the amount of memory consumption. After I add the processes to the list and and call the WorkingSet64 property of the process, I tried this:

Processes is the variable I used to grab the collection of processes. proc is defined as a variable and then used to loop through the processes.
lvi is of course the ListViewItems in the ListView.So, by the code I have above, I loop through the ListViewItems, and if any of the processes are above or equal to 2000, then I set the background color to Yellow.
However, it sets every line to yellow, and I can't seem to figure out to set only those processes that have a WorkingSet64 above 2000.
Would I need to loop through the processes and then set the background color of the ListViewItem based on that? That kind of makes sense to me, but if I do that, I'm not sure how to set it just for those processes. Maybe by setting a separate variable?
I wanted to identify the conflicted schedule of each of the section. If there's conflict then the two or more subjects that are conflict will be colored to make then noticeable. They are in datagridview. I don't know what's wrong but there are some that although they are conflict they are not highlighted. Here's my code:

I have a datagridview and the user wishes to key some text in a text box and press a find button.The text to be looked for could exist in any columns in the grid (I want to exclude hidden columns).The search is to start at the row the user is currently at. If it gets to the bottom of the grid and still not found the the search would start from the first row of data.
If a match is found then the row with a matching value is to be highlighted.I've looked at using the position and find properties of my binding source but I think this will only let me find on one column and only from the top?Do I need to programmatically loop through the rows in the datagridview and search for the text or may there be a better method?
I have a datagridview and I have set the highlight property to full row, I also have a link column in my grid. my problem is, when I click on a row it get highlighted blue, but the link color is also blue so it becomes very hard to read. is there a way other than manually setting the cell forecolor to handle this issue?

I'm writing a help application for the Customer support team at my company to help agents ask better questions when customers report problems. In it, I've got a SQL database that contains all the products, topics, and questions. The layout is similar to the following:

I don't know if I'm making myself clear, but I basically need to do the equivalent to the following SQL statement: "SELECT PRODUCT_ID FROM Products WHERE PRODUCT_Name = LstProducts.SelectedValue"
It seems that on clicking datagridview column header, the column will be automatically sorted based on the column type. I have a column showing some numbers. If column type is string, it sorts "1","20","3" into "1","20","3". If column type is double, it sorts into "1","3","20" which is the result that I want. However, there might be some erros in the numbers and error messages(text) will show in the cell instead of numbers. So I cannot set the column type as double. I want to ignore these error messages and sort all the numbers. How can I do this?
Also, I need to add some background colors to different rows in datagridview. So in the column header click event, I call the bkgColor Sub to achieve this. My question is that how can I override the sorting method in this event?

So now I use a number ( In this case: 1 ) for the column index, but I want to make it a bit more readable so now I want to obtain the column index based on the datagridview column name.[code]...
I have a datagrid that I am unable to change the width setting, it always reverts back to the original setting.
To change this setting:
1. select the datagrid view tasks
2. Edit columns bound column properties
3. Select Width property
4. Width property will always revert back to the original setting.
I have check the properties settings without any luck.

I have a form called FrmPracDetails, which has details of practices and each practice has a unique prac_no populated on the form in the text box called TxtPracNo. Now, I have another form called FrmPayHistory. This form has a datagrid called DgvPayHistory, which is loaded with all the payment history of all practices. It has also a field called prac_no and stores the unique prac_no.
What I want to do is, when a user is in FrmPracDetails, lets say prac_no 1115, then you open the FrmPayHistory. Only the payment history of that respective prac_no should be seen. Presently, it brings all the practices and their payment history. I have added a textbox (TextBox1) in the FrmPayHistory which links and displays the prac_no from FrmPracDetails with the following code:

I have a Dataset with a Bunch of Columns used in a Report (DevExpress XtraReports) (DataSet being the DataSource). The Dataset has many columns, and i need to read a column (based on the row type), and decide which column value to read for the row, and apply formatting based on the row type.

When an item is selected from the combobox, I need to return another value from the dataset (column Gateway_Channel). In the 'selectedindexchanged' sub, I have the following line which should return the value from the second field (gateway_channel) but whatever item is selected in the combobox, only the value from the first row is returned.

I placed my code in the rowprepaint event of the datagridview and on start up I get the results I am looking for. However, if the user selects the row or a cell in the row then the value will display.
I don't want the value to show even if the row is selected.
