How To Retrieve Users Playlists From Yahoo Music API
Dec 19, 2011
I have researched quite a lot on how to retrieve user information from Yahoo Music API, i have read Open Social as well and looked at Yahoo documentation but can't find what I am looking for.
Over the last 3 days i've been batteling with the issue of playlists. I'm currently using windows media for mp3 playback how ever i do not understand why the command "AxWindowsMediaPlayer1.Ctlcontrols.play()" doesn't start playback immediatly. I've been over this so many time in the last few days i think i've just confused my self.
Over view of how it works... Form2 updates 1 list box with the path and 1 with the Artist & track, it then invokes the PlayMusic procedure (subroutine) on form1. However it will not begin playback until it has done all its jumpig around, gone back to form2 and closed it. Only then will playback begin.
Using the Asp.net Membership & Profile Providers: Am I able to retrieve a user profile using their Membership UserID instead of their Username? The reason I ask is because if I have the UserID and not the Username I would have to write the following two lines of code [code]Dim Profile As Profile = Profile.GetProfile("UserID")Will this affect performance? Is my design bad? Am I missing something? I am aware that I can retrieve the current logged in user using the following code: HttpContext.Current.User.Identity.Name
Hey guys, I'm a new guy in VB.NET. I am proposing my final year project a title called music studio. My version of music studio is like real music video where we can play many sound at any time. For example, the application that I want to build can create many button and also add an audio along with it. And then, when we hit the 1st button, it play 1st audio. while 1st audio play, we also can hit 2nd button and 2nd audio is playing. for example, 1st audio is sound of man walking, and then 2nd audio is the sound of glass break. lastly 3rd sound sound of police siren play. Is it cool? so, my question is, is it possible the I can build an application by using VB.NET?
I have an asp.net web app that uses forms-based authentication, a SqlMembershipProvider (using an encrypted password format), and a SqlRoleProvider. I need to know if it's possible to administer the users (create new users, assign them to roles, etc.) from a windows application - the powers that be don't want any administrative functionality in the web app itself. Here is the membership provider definition from web.config:
I've got a code using SQLClient that loops though all users in a Users table inside each loop i want to preform another search in the UserOrders table, thus doing a count of all orders.

There is already an open DataReader associated with this Command which must be closed first.
Here is my code
vb.net UserLists.Items.Clear() Dim connection As New SqlClient.SqlConnection(My.Settings.ConnectString) Dim command As New SqlClient.SqlCommand("SELECT * FROM Users ORDER BY PersonName",
1.Id like to publish a free vb.net desktop application for the users to download and use meanwhile Id like to collect usage information ex: user ip address, users registration information, used features, time spent if the user allows the report to be sent back.
2.Also , in order for the user to be able to use the application, hell have to register it then, everytime, before the application loads, it gets verified online that it was registered, maybe validate the registration information or a valid user name and password, no critical personal information. The target of this step is for the application to be used exclusively by the registered user and maybe on his computer only.

Is there a simple way (a public library/class perhaps) to get the number of backlinks for a site from Yahoo API? (yahoo boss. yahoo site explorer) Preferably in vb .net?
If not, is there a library that allows easy access to the Yahoo API, like Zend Framework provides for PHP equivalent?
I want to activate a button on a yahoo group web page. It is in the members database and it is the export button. When the button is pressed it will export the list of members. I want my program to navigate to this page and press the button programmatically. I am using vb2008. I am not using this to spam anyone. I am an administrator there and want to get the data for tracking messages.
