Spelling Check On RTF Content?

Mar 11, 2010

I'm using the VB.NET 2005 RichTextBox control as a base for a user control that I've written, and one of the functions I'm writing into this control is a spelling check. There's a problem I've found though: I can't preserve RTF markup when corrections to the spelling are made.I've tried my own method of breaking the content up into an array and checking against a dictionary, as well as using MS Word (less ideal because now my control is dependent on having Word installed), but with both the only way I could get it to work at all was to use the Text property. This fails to handle any formatting the user had done to the text, so at the end of the spell check, everything is back to the default font. Bold text, colors, highlight, lists, etc. are lost.

A crappy way I found is to use MS Word, but use a temporary RTF file for the spelling check. Basically I save the content of the RTB into a temporary RTF file, load it with the Word object, run the spell check, save the changes, and then load it back into the RTB. That's a poor solution though, and it still has me bound to MS Word which I would like to avoid.

I'm certain that someone must have found/written/implemented a spelling check like this, so I'm hoping I can get some guidance on how to correctly approach this so I check the spelling of the box and retain all formatting that the user may have made.

.net - Which Version Of Visual Studio 2010 Contains Visual Basic SharePoint Templates

Aug 5, 2011

Does anybody know which version of Visual Studio 2010 contains the full set of Visual Basic SharePoint Templates? I am about to embark on a project to create Visual Web Parts to be used in a SharePoint report.

At the moment I am using Visual Studio 2008 and even though the WSPBuilder is installed none of the relevant SharePoint templates are present.Having searched SO and the web, most advise to install the templates via the Visual Studio command prompt: devenv /installvstemplates

Alas the Visual Studio command prompt is also missing from my VS2008 installation. So, the question remains: which version of VS2010 contains what I need for pain-free SharePoint development? There is a rather large price different between VS2010 Professional and VS2010 Premium, so can anyone tell me if the cheaper version (VS2010 Professional) contains all the Sharepoint templates?

How do I disable the background compiler for Visual Basic in Visual Studio 2008?

For my sins, I have to work on a large VB.NET project and it often locks up for 20 seconds at a time whilst doing the very helpful background compilation

I'd rather work blind between compiles and be able to do some work.

I am now asked to create a .net application and I'm trying to create a "Hello World" starter app. I opened my Visual Studio, click File-New Project and all I see is Business Intelligence Projects and Other Project Types. Speech Recognition From Own Grammar

Jul 18, 2010

I'm making an application that requires me to perform speech recognition from a wave file that contains some speech. I know what the words in the wave file could be.So, I need to compare these words from a small custom grammar/dictionalr instead of a whole built in large vocabulary.

I have done the recognition part with the default system large vocabulary but now just need to use my own vocabulary.

Suppose that the words that the user can say are:

Hello
hundred degree celcius,
USA,
Yes,
No

Then, how shall I write my XML Grammar? I suppose that if I use the limited small vocabulary, then my accuracy of recognition would increase. Right now, ive a wave file in Microsoft Mary's voice saying "Hello". But with the large default vocabulary its recognising it as "All though". Is my assumption correct that with the above mentioned 5 words in the vocabulry, it will recognise it as Hello only?

Ive been looking at the internet but can't find solution to my specific problem regarding making a simple grammar. In most documents its mentioning using external grammar and about several of the attributes posssible, including sementics, etc, etc. But my vocabulary is not very complicated or difficult. And I don't want to get into too much detail at the moment as I would be deviating from my project itself..

So using the following code:

Grammar = RecoContext.CreateGrammar
Grammar.CmdLoadFromFile("C:CustomGrammar.xml")

What should be the content of the CustomGrammar.xml?
