How can I call Windows Photo Viewer in VB.NET? I want to use some code similar to the one below but it does show up because it does not have an .exe file, but has a .dll file instead.

I have created a photo gallery in web.. was just wondering how to create a interactive in windows form. I wana put in all my pictures in a folder. Then call all the pictures from that folder. I am also wana set a caption for all the images but I dun wana use any db.

I've tried searching on Google and these forums for where to start with this but I'm not having much luck! Most search returns just give a guide on displaying one image in a picture box but I would like to display multiple images that can be selectable.

Then when the the mouse is taken away from this floating box the box will disapear and leave you with the picture gallery again?

View 1 RepliesI've been trying off and on for a week now to get this to work but no luck. I have completely stripped down my vb.net 2008 windows service to just create a vbs file and launch it using a process.I'm dying here. The vbs file creates and is valid. I can execute it manually, the windows service just won't run it!! I'm on a windows 7 machine and the process is compiled and installed as a 32 bit process. It is also installed as local system.
After the process tries to execute, I created a text file and it did so successfully. So, I know that the service isn't crashing out.[code]....

Because it's a windows service it's very difficult to debug. Trying to narrow down my error I created a "sendDebugEmail" method that sends me an email if it gets to a certain line. The emails never make it past "dr = cmd.ExecuteReader()"

I've created a dummy_database that I just made in sql server as well. I added an INSERT sql statement for the dummy table i have in there just to see if i could actually access a database. But if run .exe file into other system like Windows 7 with 125% text size, then the forms and Controls are expanding i want to scroll it out. I'm trying to take a picture from my webcam when the user clicks a button on a Form on a Windows XP Machine.
I tried going through several threads, but couldn't find the solution I was looking for. Most of the threads involved matters (and code) too complex for my requirements, or had bugs when I reproduced the code in my editor window which I was unable to resolve due to my lack of knowledge in I/O related programming.
So far the simplest solution I could find was this one:[URl]...but after using his solution in my editor, it says 'type WIA is not defined', despite adding a reference to Microsoft Windows Image Acquisition 1.01 Type Library.
