How To Perform Keyboard Shortcut In VB

I would like to know if its possible, and if so how, to use VB.NET to automate a keyboard shortcut. In the application i am developing, it receives email as a outlook addin and runs various checks and if those checks are positive it inserts information about the message into the database. But i want to be able to tell it that when the subject = "Keyword" to perform Ctrl+Alt+Up for, essentially a prank. However - I can't find anything on this anywhere, all i find is "Custom Short-cuts In VB.NET" and stuff about the KeyDown, KeyUp and KeyPress events.

In my form have the Toolstrip menu and it have the 3 Buttuns with image and text. now I want to add the short cut key for this ToolStrip buttons like "Cntrl+any one char"
I dont want Alt+key type short cut. how can I add the keyboard short cut key using with Cntrl+key.

i really dont get it. i want to put keyboard shortcuts on the button i have other than clicking this buttons. but the problem is i dont know how. i tried putting an ampersand (&) sign before the text of the buttons and it work, but the ampersand sign also displays. heres the original code:

I'm using VB 2008, I haven't used it much, only a little bit for my execl and word macros but now I have to make a little lightweight program for myself.What I can't find is the method of detecting when scrollUP is used. The idea here is that I need to register when scroll up is used, and then perform a keyboard command. So basically I would like to Copy with scrollUp for example, but this need to work outside the progam/form.

In VB Classic, VBA and also in Visual Studio you can dbl click close to the left hand margin of a block of code and it will select the whole of the current block (sub, function etc). In Visual Studio this clickable area is adjacent to the line numbers on the left.Is there a keyboard shortcut that will do the same job? that is, select the "current block".

How Do I Make Button.click Event Perform both the enter and period(del) keys on the numeric keypad? [Code] Case Keys.Enter and Case Keys.Separator do not work. Nor does anything like Keys.OEMPeriod for the period(del) key. I've also tried calling the enter key in a KeyPress event etc. But to no avail. Any ideas? I'm trying to mimic Windows calc.exe for a school project and thought I'd try throwing in a few extras such as numeric keypad functionality.

I've been reading the official DNS RFC [URL].. and looking at articles like this that explain how DNS query packets are structured [URL].. but I'm having a hard time trying to combine the two and actually get to a point where I know what to do
Basically I know that I need to use UDP to send the query and there is only one type of query I actually want to perform - an MX lookup. So I'm hoping that means I dont need to account for a lot of things that anyone creating a complete DNS Resolver would need to implement.
The only experience I have with network communication like this is with protocols that are text based (and use TCP, but I dont think that makes much difference here, if anything UDP should be easier). DNS however is binary based and I just cant figure out how I would know what bytes to send down the wire for a specific MX query..

I know .Net and C# pretty well, but never even looked at VB.My problem is: our Win32 COM library is used by a number of clients, and we see that the number of failures is higher for those who use the library from VB (both VB and VB.NET) than for those who use C++, C# or Delphi. One thing about our library is that it is supposed to be used from one thread only - can some threading magic by VB be the cause of failures?
Clients tell us the do not create any extra threads on their own.

I remember with InterSystems Cache code, you can use indirection to take a string and turn that into real executable code by preceding the string variable with "@". Can this be done in C#.NET or VB.NET code? So I'd like to have a method that would take an arguments array of strings (with one or multiple lines of code), and run that code, assuming it doesn't throw an exception of course. I'm trying to build a four step process into a VB.NET GUI. The application transfers objects from AppA to AppB.
The application will follow these steps:
User constructs a general query in the GUI to identify which AppA objects to transfer. Model gets queryResults, datagrid in View lists each result User deselects items not to be transferred to AppB Model transfers selected items
how this should work. I've have the following functions implemented in the model, but don't know the MVC-way to tie them into my GUI:
Function getQueryResults(queryParams) as Items
Function transferItems(items)
Do I keep the Items data structure in the model?
How do I remove deselected from the Items data structure without building logic into the view?
Both of the above functions take time, how can I design thing to allow me to BackgroundWorker the model's functions?
