Apr 8, 2011I have been able to do the exercise's in the first 2 chapters and half the exercise's in the third chapter of the text book (programming in visual basic 2008, Julia Case Bradley & Anita C. Millspaugh). but this one is making my head want to explode. please point me in the right direction with this.
Heres the problem. The company has instituted a bonus program to give its employees an incentive to sell more. For every dollar the store makes in a four-week period, the employees receive 2 percent of sales. The amount of bonus each employee receives is based upon the percentage of hours he or she worked during the bonus period (a total of 160 hours). The Calculate button will determine the bonus earned by this employee, and the Clear button will clear only the name, hours-worked, and bonus amount fields. A Print button allows the user to print the form. Do not allow missing or bad input data to cancel the program; instead display a message to the user.
Here's my code so far. its giving me the wrong results. i have tried many different ways,(hence the commented code) but I just dont know where im going wrong.

Dec 2, 2009I am using the 2005 Power Packs Print Forms, I need to hide the filetoolstripmenu in order to print because it come through on my client page So I am using filetoolstripmenusitem.visible= false, then calling print but i think its happens to fast so part of the filetoolstripitem is still coming through on my print image Is there something i can do to pause it for a second?

Oct 27, 2011When user clicks on a button on my form, it sends the datagridview on that form to another class that [basically] does a bunch of stuff and shows a dialog with a print preview. Everything works perfectly fine, except that if a user switches around columns it won't print them in that current order. For example, if user moves the LastName column before FirstName column, then it should print in that order, but it prints in the column order that the datagridview was originally loaded. The dgv1, is the datagridview that was originally loaded, not the current one. [Code]

I want to sort the lists by the second item in the contained lists but I don't know what parameter is needed in the .sort method. What do I need to put in as a parameter. I read something about writing a comparer function and putting that in the brackets but I don't understand how that works.

They are then to display all the numbers between them in an "odds list box" and an "evens list box" in ascending order. Jul 26, 2010I want to rearrange a list of items in different orders for few times; ie: the 2nd in the list becomes the 1st & the previous 3rd becomes the 2nd, ... then the Last one becomes the penultimate one.In the next round, the 3rd of the original list becomes the 1st & the 4th of the original becomes the 2nd and so on. (That is, each item moves one rank above & the Top one goes to the Bottom)Given below is an example.Here, I took only 6 items & rearranged for 5 times only. (I should be able to use several Items and to rearrange for many times).The Original List:

VS 2008 BackgroundWorkers - Does Not List Files In Order
Nov 26, 2010The code uses dynamically backgroundworkers which all workers great, but with one problem. If you were to look at line:
For Each folderPath In File.ReadAllLines("file path here")
You would see that it loops the text file, and starts background work.
The problem is that it does not list the files in order.
For example were you see "file path here" that were you put the file path.
The text file itself would look something like this:
C: est
C:VB
The program starts listing file from the C:est then goes back to C:VB then back to C:est.
I know the reason why, but I can't stop it. I tried pausing that code inside the loop, but with no luck. How would be able to list the files in order?

Unfortunately i can't just find the placeholders for the strings and extract the data that way so i was using indexOf to find commas in the string provided. the problem i'm having is that i can assign the first comma and extract 0 - "," but i'm stuck on how to progress the indexof so it will move through the string submitting everything between the comma's.

Unable To Insert A Number In To A List Box In The Correct Order?
Jul 8, 2009Ok here goes my stab in the dark again: I would like to be able to insert a number in to a list box in the correct order, at the moment the number gets put at the end, but the list box starts negative and then gets larger and the values that will be added are within the range already there, My guess would be some sort of sort function?

Please have a look at [URL]...It shows part of the task manager process list, and image name column is sorted in descending order.What i am trying to find out is how is the arrow pointing downwards (representing descending) is created.

Algorithm - Combine Multiple Lists, Resulting In Unique List And Retaining Order
Apr 28, 2010I want to combine multiple lists of items into a single list, retaining the overall order requirements. i.e.:
1: A C E
2: D E
3: B A D
result: B A C D E
above, starting with list 1, we have ACE, we then know that D must come before E, and from list 3, we know that B must come before A, and D must come after B and A.If there are conflicting orderings, the first ordering should be used. i.e.
1: A C E
2: B D E
3: F D B
result: A C F B D E 3 conflicts with 2 (B D vs D B), therefore requirements for 2 will be used.
If ordering requirements mean an item must come before or after another, it doesn't matter if it comes immediately before or after, or at the start or end of the list, as long as overall ordering is maintained.
This is being developed using VB.Net, so a LINQy solution (or any .Net solution) would be nice - otherwise pointers for an approach would be good.
Edit: Edited to make example 2 make sense (a last minute change had made it invalid)
