LIstbox To Show Data At Bottom Without Manual Scroll

Mar 25, 2011

When I place data into the list box, I would like the new information to be visible at the bottom of the list without having to have the user use the scroll bar to see it. The data should scroll up automatically as new data is placed into the listbox. Can this be done?

IDE :: Data Grid View - Scroll To Inserted Row (bottom)?

Apr 14, 2010

When I have inserted a row to the "data grid view", it inserts it with no problems, except you cannot see it because it's out of the window's bounds. There are scroll bars that you can use to scroll to the row you had inserted, but, my question is: is there a way that the "data grid view" can scroll to the inserted row?

Text Box Scroll To Bottom

Apr 27, 2011

I'm having issues getting a text box to scroll to the bottom Every time text is entered into it. I searched google, and came to a bunch of solutions, some of them on this forum, but I can't seem to get them to work. One of them was a sub..[code]the problem is I don't know where to declare the sub. I've tried in form1 load, my click button click event but nothing worked..when ever I put the sub code in my source it seems to cut off the rest of my code, and generates a bunch of errors..

Make A Text Box Show Bottom Lines?

Feb 5, 2010

How can a text box control be programmatically made to scroll down and show the new lines appended at the bottom?

When data is appended to a multiline text box control, it always displays the first lines at the top, and the user has to scroll to the bottom to see the latest. When more data is appended, the control zooms right back to the top.

The vertical scroll is enabled, and so is multiline.

Using javascript, is there anyway I can add a bottom scroll bar to these grids? Doesn't seem like we have a wrapped command to do it...

Showing ListBox At Bottom Of Label

Jan 25, 2009

In a project I am doing, I was hoping to show a listbox at the bottom of a label when I click the label so a number can be selected. I don't want to use a combobox or numericupdown because of the look. The problem I have, and I hope can be resolved is that when the listbox is shown, it is drawn under the other controls. Is it possible to show it over the others?

Data-bound Dropdownlist That Permits Manual Entry Also?

Aug 16, 2011

I am not a .net programmer but I can write bits and pieces that I need, however, I have been having trouble working out the best way to achieve something for a website I'm altering.I basically need to have a drop down list which is bound to a certain SQL call (already in place) but I also need the ability to manually type into the drop down list for items that do not exist. These items do not need to be entered into the SQL (I can handle the additional data separately) but I cannot find a way to type inside a drop down list while it is bound to a datasource. Some entries in the datasource (SQL table) are used for one thing, but then a text string needs to be entered for optional entries which do not exist within this SQL table.

Does anyone know how I can achieve this or maybe another similar control can be used that offers this kind of functionality?**Update to be more clear:I need this at runtime. For instance, I do not need this to be within code I actually need the control to accept user input when someone is on the webpate.Imagine a shopping list and all the items are within the drop down list then the user wants to add another item to the shopping list so they just type it into the drop down box and submit the page and its value will be used instead of an existing item.

Show Scroll Bars Only If Actually Required?

Jun 2, 2010

Is there a way to automatically show scroll bars on a multi line edit control only if they are actually required?

i.e. If the text is small enough to fit in the edit box, don't show scroll bars and if the text doesn't fit show the appropriate scroll bars (i.e. vertical, horizontal or both).

Of course I'd like this to be all automatic and not have to recalculate the size of the text myself every time the user adds or delete a character.

This works fine, but if the found text is too far down, I have to manually scroll down to see it. How can I automatically scroll down so that the found text is visible in the text box?

Forms :: Listbox Horizontal Scroll Event?

Oct 20, 2010

So I have a custom listbox that is displaying garbage text when scrolling horizontally. I need the custom listbox to stop an annoying flicker, but it's causing issues with the scroll. I think I could solve the issue if only I could access the hscroll event, but I don't know how to do that. I will put down my custom listbox class just in case you will need it to understand the problem.

Edit: I realized my question is a little vague - telling me how to access the hscroll event within the listbox will suffice

Implement A Down/up Button That When Clicked Will Scroll The Listbox Either Down Or Up?

Jul 20, 2010

1) When displaying text in a label with autosize=false, is it possible to display as much of one word as possible until it gets cutoff. Right now, if one word is longer than where the end of the label is set to, it won't display any of that word.

2) Is it possible to implement a down/up button that when clicked will scroll the listbox either down or up. I'm thinking of having the button change the selected index +/- 1, but will the view of the box scroll with the newly selected items?
