I was able to get it to generate random numbers but only 1 per a click of the calculate button...I would like user to be able to click button and it to generate and display all the numbers on seperate numbers all at once[code]...
How I can use a messagebox to show for a specific amount of time only? So if I place this in maintimer, MessageBox will show and will auto close and I set how long it must display for. If messagebox is up, then Timer is paused. I did research around these lines but couldn't find what I'm looking for.

I have completed that part. What I am having trouble with is the second function. It wants the next function to use the previous function three times so that it displays 3 separate random numbers within a given range and display it in a D2 string format.
View 1 Repliesim in the process of using vb.net code to return the ip address of my machine its working sorta correctly i can get the right ip address if i change the addresslist.getvalue(0) from [0] to any where up to [5]this im guessing is an array of information in the network adapter or something im not real interested in the other information in the other values my problem is depending on weather i have ipv6 options enabled in my adapter settings the true(192.xxx.x.x) is in value(2) for on and value(3) for off also i tried it on another machine and it came back as value(5) of 12 my problem is i can display every value() that has information in it in a text box but i cant make the program find the right address to use(192.xxx.x.x) this code runs and produces a multiline textbox with up to 11 lines of data in it and the ip address is visible in the list of data

but is there a way to either compare the adapter address list to a mask to get the correct value() for the ip address or is there another way to return the ip im not aware of?
I'm using a list box with multiple selections to add to my string -- I can't figure why my conditional doesn't seem to work. Every selection in the list box is intended to add specific literal to the string I'm building. What am I doing wrong See my code:

So I have a datagridview being populated with data from a database.At this point a user may or may not selected (via mouse click / key press) one or more rows within the datagridview.I need to (upon selection) create a new dataset, datatable and add rows with the some data from the said datagridview.
For example, if a table had nothing but names, e.g.

Upon the user clicking, dragging a selection over Sean and Larry to add those names to a new dataset so I can pass it to another method for further processing.

Working on a project that contains a listView (populated from a database already) and several textboxes. What I am trying to do, and cannot figure out, is to program this so that when a user makes a selection in the listview, it hits a specific database, and based on certain values within that databse, the textboxes are populated with things such as name and address, etc..

right now i'm getting the no of days by using DateDiff function in vb.net. but i reckon it is not precise. cos it is not validating leapyear.

so if i say want to cruise 29 miles at 12 knts it gives me an awnser of 2 hours 24.6 mins instead of 2 hours 25. Although i do realise that 2 hrs 24.6 is technicaly right i was wondering if anyone here could help me with getting it into the correct format?
im trying to make a fast food program on which the user will input the amount that he has, then he will check on what he wants, by using check boxes. There are 7 different check boxes with 7 different amounts of money. I have the program somewhat finished (thanks for the people that helped me before) but theres still a couple of things that I still need to get finished but I dont know how to.I need to be able to get how much money the user has (this will be entered threw a text box, I think I accidentally messed this part up, because I cant get it to work right, (theres alreasy a permit amount of money in there and it needs to be what the user enters instead of the permit, 5.59, one) and this will be the maximum amount he can spend, then the user will check on the food he wants (and the program will add the sales tax also) then it will produce an answer saying if you have enough money or if you dont. But what im confused on is how do I get the users amount of money and make it the maximum mount he can spend and make sure it doesnt go over the amount that he has checked.[code]

I have a date in the future e.g. 13/10/2008 I need to subtract the current date (today is the 28/09/2010) minus 7 days, so thats 21/09/2010 minus 13/10/2008, which would equal erm, 720 something ? But the current date won't always be 28/09/2010, obviously. I need the code for this. EDIT: When i said future I mean past :)
View 3 RepliesI have a program that allows a user to select a program to run at a certain time for a specific amount of time all choosen by the user. Everything works with the exception of if my program has launched the other program, my program become non-responsive. Meaning I am not able to look at that window again. Not that one really needs too, because when time is up my program closes the program it opened, then closes itself. I just want to be able to see my program when the other program is running. how to do this and perhaps drop me some links, that would be wonderful.
