Change System HTTP Proxy?
Feb 11, 2012I am working on an application where User enter the IP address and Port of HTTP Proxy Server to use it. figured out a way to change Proxy settings using registry, however that is not system wide, that only works for IE and chrome.I have been searching internet for about a week and could not find a way to set a system wide proxy to be used by all application. Is there any way to do so.

Feb 1, 2009I have a Application that uses proxy IPs. I have a List of 100 ips, adn i want to take a random proxy and use that each and everytime whenever a button is clicked. I got the Proxy code and i modified it as below.

It successfully give random results but when i use webbrowser to confirm proxy ip, it shows only 1st or 2nd ip for every time. but i am getting random ips in listbox. When i click button it will get random ip and make browser to navigate to that ip and later it will add it to listbox.

As you can see in the following picture it dosn't completely load VBforums.com: As you can see above the page just stops and in the source code you can tell the page didn't completely load.

But my college uses a proxy so when I connect my laptop I need to change the internet settings in my web browser to view web pages. how I would send requests via a proxy server in VB.NET? Or is there a piece of software that I can download which tunnels all connections or is there a setting in win7 does this?

Apr 20, 2012I have been trying to generate a Proxy class in VB.NET using a WSDL file for an Apache Axis SOAP Web Service. They have provided me the WSDL file and when I use the WSDL.exe command (In Visual Studio 08) and point it to the local path I get an error.

Feb 20, 2010In PHP you can use fopen(Path) to read from a file. The Path can be either a local file (in the usual formats /etc/file or c:file.txt) OR it can be a URL in which case PHP will open a http connection and read from the remote location
I'd like to achieve the same in VB.Net. I'm not aware of any framework function which will achieve this.
I'm currently pattern matching the path against a Regex for a valid URL - If I get a match, I open the file using a httpwebrequest otherwise I try to use the local file system.
