View 1 RepliesI'm trying to make a label control transparent over a Panel control.However by setting the background colour of the label to Transparent, it actually sees right through to the form itself, not the panel as intended.
As an example we use a panel with a background as white, we make the label transparent, however it gets the forms colour as blue.However, we are using a custom panel control and need the label to be transparent over the panel and not see the forms background.

View 11 RepliesI don't know what is wrong here. Firstly It is Winforms application using .net 2.0.
I have a Panel (backcolor set to Transparent, I want it to be see-through).
At run-time I want to overlap this panel on controls, show a new panel over it (as to make it feel like a model dialog). but the panel is not rendered transparent.
I am trying to create two semi transparent panel.When I click on panel 1, the color is semi-transparent red. Panel 2 will become semi-transparent green. When I click on panel 2, the color is semi-transparent red. Panel 1 will become semi-transparent green.
Using class below:
Public Class TransparentPanel
Inherits Panel
Private mIsActive As Boolean = False
Public WriteOnly Property IsActive() As Boolean
[code].....
When I click on panel 1, it is semi-red, when I click on panel 2, panel 1 become semi-green. When I click back on panel 1, it seems to draw the semi-red on top and make it not semi-red but more red. The more click I do, the transparent is gone. Is there a way to drop the graphics and repaint it with semi-red? OR, is there a way to restore the graphics to its original state in semi-red? OR, is there a way to clear the graphics and repaint it with semi-red?
I have a forms app that contains a panel. This panel contains an picturebox - the user can then drag the picturebox image.
I need to add an image? in the panel that will not move when the user drags the picturebox image.
This image? needs to be transparent so that the picturebox image can be seen though it when drag occurs.
I've tried drawing directly on to the panel but nothing appears. Perhaps what I am drawing is behind the picturebox?
I'm trying to create a simple transparent PANEL control. I want to create a custom control based on the existing Panel Control with a property added called "transparent" which can be set to true or false. If it's set to true it's transparent(not invisible). So if I place it over some controls in a form say a button or text box... they are visible but disabled.
View 2 RepliesI would like to add an effect where a panel sweeps out of the way to make room for another panel. This is sort of like a sliding effect, and I think at one point in time this could be seen on Apple's website under their product pages. I came up with some code, but it isn't working.

I have a form that has a gradient background and I need the textbox to allow the user to type into and it shows the text and the blinking cursor carrot when it has focus, other than that it's totally transparent, like a label.
I searched the forums and most of the topics involving this seem to be for Compact Framework. I need a transparent text label which shows an object directly beneath it. In this case, a rectangle. (Visual Studio 2010) I noticed that when I set the label background to transparent it shows the form bg instead of anything between the label and the form. How can I work around this without setting my form background to an image? If I were to make a custom control for it, how would that be achieved?

View 7 RepliesHow to make A Form in vb.net Transparent without Making Its Contents Transparent..! Actually I mean I make a border less form which I want as Transparent and in that Form I added little animation picture. And I want this animation picture visible. But what is happening here is wen I am setting the Form opacity to 10% both Picture n form are getting Transparent. I only want form transparent and not the Picture.
View 3 RepliesI did some research on how to make transparent User Control, The suggested code was like this:
Private Sub New()
' This call is required by the Windows Form Designer.
InitializeComponent()
' Add any initialization after the InitializeComponent() call.
Me.SetStyle(ControlStyles.SupportsTransparentBackColor, True)
Me.BackColor = Color.Transparent
UpdateStyles()
End Sub
When I build the project, there is no errors. But, When I try to load my user control using the "Choose ToolBox Items" dialog, it gives me the following error message:
"There is no components in [dll path] that can be placed on the toolbox."
I have a borderless form with its transparency key set to its background color. I have a richtextbox a little smaller than the form clinging to the bottom left corner of the form. At the top right corner of the RTB, I have an overlapping button control that's clinging to the top right edge of the form (it's overlapping the top right corner of the RTB.) The image I have selected for the button is a circle, so I changed the flatstyle to flat, made the border 0, made the mouseover and mousedown background colors transparent, and of course made the control's background color transparent.
Here's the problem... When I run the program, instead of seeing the top right corner of the RTB that is overlapped by the button through the button, all I see is the window that's behind my program's form (or the desktop if there is no background window.) I want to see that corner! It's supposed to look like a sheet of paper with a button overlapping the corner.[code]...
I want when I color a shape ,that color does not wipe the background picture.I want it be transparent not solid :S I tried Opticity property :-/ but it is just for the whole form :icon_sad: ,it does not available for the color.
