Oct 16, 2009i want to know how to make online exam application using VB.NET & SQL SERVER,Suppose there is a question followed by 4 options, & USER have to select one of them,also there is a time restriction for example ,30 min for 25 question and time should be visible to user.then after time over he will be not able to do anything and redirected to result page.At last it will calculate the total no of marks scored and show in graph and report wise.

Jul 28, 2009I have working on 1 program that is for Mu Online game. Its Mu Launcher program,but i'm having trouble with it. I can't make right "Server Status" to show Online or Offline I can't make autoupdater people to have using this for theyr server.

My question is that I make that software for a Clint and database will be attached in my computer. Both are using DSL internet me and Clint too. I want to that when my Clint open that software and then he work in the software then he save record so it saved in my computer database. I saw software same as there is a bat format file I have to run first it then it successful then I can open software. [Code]

These three systems are connected to network but the application is not connected. For example, there is two branches namely branch1 and branch2 and a head office namely HO1. If a user at branch1 enters a record that record not only hit that branch database, but also hit branch2 and HO1 databases as well. Can I use Virtual Private Network (VPN) to do this?

The application has to receive backup data from clients software located at different pc over the Internet. but am concerned about security of this application on the Internet. what would be the best way to implement security in vb.net 2008 to make sure that the data is not sniffed or interfere with?
am thinking of encrypting the data before sending, saving it that way until it need to be viewed before decrypting. what type of encryption would you suggest? Is there any other way you would suggest this data be sent?

Mar 4, 2012I am developing a chat application using online connection to a mysql databbase. But i am facing a problem. After 10 minutes, MySQL closes all the chat connections because of the 600 seconds timeout (has been set by the host service i am using). I don't understand why is that happening cause every piece of my code which needs data from the database opens and closes the connection (i mean that it dosn't maintain the connection after the query's execution). If i .close() and .dispose() the connection, it still appears in mysql at sleep mode (it terminates only if i exit the program).

ClickOnce Application That Is Available "online" Only?
Nov 13, 2009I'm using VS2008 with a ClickOnce application that is available "online" only. The issue I'm having is that no matter what I do, my call to My.Settings.Upgrade doesn't actually pull in the previously saved settings.

I've used ClickOnce numerous times before for applications that were available offline and My.Settings.Upgrade works fine. Is there a limitation in that it won't work for fully offline ClickOnce applications? I saw a prior posting about it not working after code signing in Vista but I'm not actually signing my app (yet). It's using the temporary .pfx file created by Visual Studio.

Apr 26, 2010is it possible to make one application send a task to another application and recieve the result from that secondary app?i made a text editor program and i added a scan feature and i made another app that has ocr capabilities.The scanner ability is in my text editor program, the ocr program doesnt scan you have to input an image into it and it will give text result a few seconds later.the prob is alot of times the ocr code uses sooo much memory and crashes when its incorporated with my text editor, but individually each application works fine and doesnt take too much memory. Memory wont be even an issue if the ocr program is standalone so that when it is done decoding image the application can be made to exit. now here is the question, how do i make my text editor send the image to the ocr program and how do i make my ocr program send the text back to my text editor? is it possible? i mean the only way i know off is creating temp files in a certain folder and having a timer on each program that keeps waiting for temp files. That just seems like pretty lame coding to me i was wondering if there's a better way?
