I am trying to plot different charts in VB.net. I am able to draw different graphs using miscrosoft web component. A sample one is attached with this post. My problem is that i dont want to have complete colour fill ( to save printer ink). Instead some diagonal lines will do. How can I implement this I tried something like this

I am creating a data analysis program (using Visual Studio 2010) having several functions. One of the functions is to create graphs (scatter plots) of my data. Now occasionally, I may collect a data point that appears good when I take it, but when I plot it on my graph, I find that it's bad data and needs to be deleted.
My problem is that I would like to have a button called, say, "Delete Points". I hit that button and then choose the point directly from the scatter plot. The data source for the plot is then updated removing the offending point. I would then also have a button called "Restore Points" to bring back deleted points.
I have been thinking of doing this in Excel, but only because I don't have much experience with any other plotting program. Using the Excel approach will have its shortcomings, like needing to push the "Delete Points" button on a GUI separate from the Excel window (and thus needing to activate the Excel window).
I have completed a 145 page automated PowerPoint presentation application. The presentation is completed successfully. In the presentation, there are sets of charts that are repeated for difference Item Manager sections.
I created the template with the desired font for the graph datasheet, legend, etc. Most of the sections use the same font that is in the template. However, a few sections randomly change the font on the chart, making the words and numbers overlap eachother. I have attached two images showing this difference.
Have any of you encountered this type of problem? Do you have a solution for it? Also, if you do not have a solution directly with this problem - do you know how to change the font programmatically so that I can make sure the font is successfully chosen?
One thing to note - if I open up the presentation and open the graph to edit it, when I close the graph it successfully reverts to the font that is used with the rest of the presentation.
I have developed visual basic 2005 windows application on windows XP with Office 2003.I am using Microsoft Office Spreadsheet Component. I am using Axinterop.Owc11.dll.If i deploy my application on windows 7 with office 2007, My application gives error at loading point of that component.
so when i run my application it gives me error "unhandled exception has occured in your application. if you click..Attempetd to read or write protected memory. this is often an indication that other memory is corrupt."so i copied my sourcecode on that machine and debug. When i run my application in debug mode it won't give me error but if i run my application without debugging it gives me above error.
I found that it give me error in InitializeComponent()

I'm trying to create a log on method for a system which will involve users selecting a colour from a paint panel and then placing/drawing the colour in 1 or more tiles of a grid, basically a 3x3 grid in which for example they selected the blue colour and drew in the top left tile and the bottom left tile. The logon is selecting the correct colour and placing the colour in the appropriate tile. What i want them to be able to do is place even a single pixel of colour so it has a high accuracy. So far i have a timer which loops from the width of the grid to the height of the grid.

To start with i have just hard coded the colour i want it to detect. At present it produces an error. Parameter must be positive and < Width the error is on System.Drawing.Point(i,j). If i place the mouse over the colour then run the program it will say it has been found, but otherwise it wont find the colour. I believe i am not updating the location of the pixel or something to that effect.
I've got a combobox which loads the system colour list, the selected colour is stored in the registry (i've tried storing the index number value aswell as the colour name - how can i get the combobox to display the stored colour as the default colour when the form loads? Looking at the property grid, I can see that the name property is parenthesised, indicating that it's not a regular property.
We have currently upgraded our development machines to Windows 7 and Office 2007. We have a vb 2008 app that references 2003 Office components to use for mail-merging to word.We loaded up our app in the vb environment today and were instantly greeted with missing components/functions which are related to the 2003 Office components. We can update these to use the Office 2007 components/functions instead, however we are unsure whether after doing this our vb app will work with machines only with Office 2003 on. can machines with Office 2003 on work with our vb app that references Office 2007 components?

I've developed shared addin for Microsoft Word. I distribute this addin with my application and using Inno setup for installation. The Inno setup installs my application and then runs "myAddin.msi" file in order to install addin.
