Save Ovals On Form And Open Them Back Up?
Sep 28, 2010What I have is a form I click on and it draws two ovals on the screen. I haven't formatted the second oval yet but is will color itself and place itself with conditions I have yet to create. What I'm stuck on is I need a way to save my work. Then Open it when I return or wish to see what I did. I am using the SaveFileDialog and OpenFileDialog to set/get the file but what I am have issue with is the code needed to save all the Ovals on the page and redraw them. Can one of you give me some guidance? Do I need to create a Serializable Class to draw my ovals to start with and not use the Powerpacks.Shapes?

Jan 12, 2010I have a open and file save dialog which I use to open and save file. There are also some labels in the application. During the time a file is open or saved, the file open /save dialog becomes blurred by the background labels. Is there any way to prevent this? The attached pic is given as an example to explain the dilemma.

I can change the pixels/edit the picture by Dim img as new bitmap(picturebox1.image)

now here is the weird part. When I save the image the filesize INCREASES..but the picture dimensions are the same Example... TEST.PNG 1.3KB, when opened up via picturebox/saved the image is now 2.3KB
not sure why...i even though I specify system.drawing.imaging.imageformat.PNG
samething with JPG... it actually SHRINKS it evenmore.. example 88KB jpeg.. saved as jpeg is now 47.7KB...

This code is what I am using to save image after it is re sized, It will not save the new image, it saves the old image and the old size. I am using a picture box to import the image into, then I am resizing the picture box and the image. But when it is saved it reverts to the original image.

Resize An Imagelist/listview Image Without Repopulating The Image List?
May 17, 2009Does anyone know if it is possible to resize an imagelist/listview image without repopulating the image list? I am using scroll bar to change the image size from 25 point to 256 point. When I leave the scroll bar the imagelist repopulates from the files list. This can be very slow when working with high resolution pictures. I don't want to limit the image size to 2 sizes by using large and small imagelist.

Rather than upload to a database I want to save the image to a folder in my web application. The problem I have encountered is that VB won't let me save a byte() to a folder. Not sure what I can safely change to adapt for my purposes. Why does it need to be changed to a byte() in the first place?

Resize An Image In A MemoryStream?
Dec 5, 2010I wrote a piece of code that grabs a fileupload, puts it into a memory stream, converts the main pic, and thumbnail pic, then saves them as jpegs, then updates the database.
Everything works fine, except one little glitch. If the DPI is above 300 then the image doesn't save right. It get's pixelated and blury.

Aug 11, 2011I have a form where i load an image to a picturebox. I open a dialog to prompt the user to grab a file and once that is done i pull the image into a picturebox. Now i want to resize all incoming images but.... because of how it affects my ability to draw lines in the picturebox i am restricted to leaving the picturebox size mode set to normal. So i set out to write a resizing function.
The issue i am having is that eventhough i pass the function an image. I get the Height and with from the image object and it appears that i should be tripping some of my IF/Then statements ... neither Scl or Scl2 ever gets set which in turn keeps nw_height and nw_width from setting themselves properly.
All 4 of those variables stay 0 at all times and im not sure why.

Resize An Image While Taking In Account The Dpi?
May 7, 2010I have this fingerprint scanner I'm working with. The fingerprints taken are index/stored in our imaging system and the fingerprints are put on certain documents and printed.When I scan the image in and then load it into a bitmap object, the width and height are (w:480,h:640).Now if I open this file in any image viewer and print it from there the finger print is as big as a fingerprint should be.Now when working with it in code, it's huge. I have found some resize code online, but the resulting image is horrible.Is there anyway to resize an image while taking in account the dpi and such so the image is highest quality (same as print out?).
