My pictureboxes sometimes clear of all drawings when they are done creating the image, or sometimes halfway through. Calling GC.Collect() before the drawing starts lets it draw MORE before it clears, but how can I stop it from clearing entirely?
View 2 RepliesI save my images into my SQL Server Database with ASP.NET(2.0).
(imageData -> image) (imageType -> varchar) (imageLength -> bigint)
Thus the imageData will be "Binary data" and the imageType will be like "image/gif" and the imageLength will be like "6458".......
Is it possible to get the image HEIGHT and WIDTH from my VB.NET code inside my ASP.NET? I want to make my picture box on my web form the size of the actual image that is saved in my database.
I drew an image in a picturebox with the image height as picturebox height and image width as picturebox width. The image is placed somewhere on the center of the picturebox. My intention is to scale the image to fit to the picturebox.
View 2 RepliesI'd like to make it to where when I click on each different room the appropriate event (routine, etc.) happens. I imagine it's possible but I've only ever seen (here and elsewhere) turning an image into a button, or using a button with an image as the background. But never have I seen of turning areas of a single image into multiple click-able objects. I know HTML had a thing where you tag specific pixel ranges using (x, y) start and (x, y) end to make a smaller portion of the image work as a button but I can't remember anything like that for visual basic or .Net.
View 3 RepliesIn html I just do <img src="x.jpg" width="1px" height="2px"> how about in vb.net. Is there an easy way to do this. When you are viewing the image through the picture box
View 1 RepliesI know to get an image's size if its a file, but what if it is located in the clipboard? I really don't want to save it from the clipboard as a file only to read its size.

I'm using the next class to fill my listview
Imports System.Data.SqlClient
Public Class ListViewData
Public Sub FillListView(ByRef MyListView As ListView, _

I want all the listview columns to be in auto width. I tried adding the next line of code but then only my first column fills my entering listview width. All other columns are not affected!
lvwColumn.Width = -2
What I am trying to do is fill the contents of the datagridview with the cell contents. There are two ways to do this.
1) Either set the DGV width to the cell contents width, or
2) Autoadjust the width of the cells to the width of the DGV.
how to implement either of these two approaches?
This Winforms app has a toolStripComboBox within a MenuStrip container that displays Culture Info languages.The toolStripComboBox's width is not expanding to accommodate the size of the string. The strings are dynamically added to the combobox from underlying code. How do I get the comboboxe's width to expand? Below is an image of the'too narrow' combobox and below that the Properties for the combobox.
View 1 RepliesIn VB.NET for the combo box, I have set the autocomplete mode to "SuggestAppend" and autocomplete source to "ListItems". Its working as expected. But the width of the autosuggest dropdown box is not same as that of combo box and so it looks weird.I tried changing the value dropdown width property but it changes the value of normal dropdown box (seen after clicking down arrow on combobox), and not the autosuggest dropdown box.So what code or property needs to be set to make autosuggest dropdown box the same width as that of combobox width?
View 1 RepliesI have a drawing program written in VB6 that is capable of printing very thin lines to a laser printer. In VB .net, even though the pen width is set to 1, the thinnest lines are way too "thick". The equivalent line width in VB .net using a pen width of 1 is about the same as the DrawWidth = 4 in VB6. So, my question is, how can I print very thin lines to a laser printer in VB .net?
View 5 Replieshow to adjust the width of the listview and also the datagridview to the width of the form.Because I want it to be able to follow the form's width and when maximized the form, the listview or the datagridview will also be maximized to the form's width.
View 2 Repliesget the whole and same content of any file i uploaded, for my editing purposes in my editor w/c retrieves file from the database. i.e of files are ".doc and .txt"and by the way what i meant by same content is the whole same appearance of my .doc or .txt file i.e "if the text is bold, forecolor is red and etc.."
i successfully established a file upload and a function to store it in a database... but what i'm missing is the whole and same content of the file. Another thing is i don't want the file to be saved in a local folder or somewhere..i just want it to be save directly to my database Below is my sample code of trying to retrieve the content.. but it is an error when you run..

nLog for .NET has the capability to send log entries as email. But if we want to send the entire current log file, how can it be done, short of reading the log file into a string and passing that as an nLog {$message}? I don't see that nLog has a property in its mailtarget for attachments.

View 1 RepliesUsing the Microsoft VB 2008 Express program, I'm making a SWd20 character sheet (D&D) to be distributed to a few friends. It's a program where the user can figure out stats, species, class, etc without having to make any calculations him/herself.. but this will all be in vain without saving it..
So I'd love to know how I could make it so the user can save and load the entire file(including buttons, labels, text boxes, menu strips, possibly multiple forms, etc) on his/her own computer.. Is this possible, and if so, how can I go about this?
I've already searched through and found lots on saving text in the files to .txt files, but that doesn't cover everything I need
Is it possible to store entire CookieContainer in a file and then retrieve it when needed?
View 5 RepliesI'm having an issue with the streamreader. I had it working but I've changed something and it has stopped.
I have it in a Do While loop reading line by line, but it doesn't finish reading. It reads about 27 lines out of 4000, then stops.
I changed the contents of the file it was reading, but it's still just save as a txt notepad file.
I also changed how I tell it which file to open (UserSelection.T2) however it does open the file just doesn't finish reading it.
Doesn't kick back any errors, it just doesn't read the entire file.

View 2 RepliesHere is the thing, I have a rather bit datagridview on a form and, I would like to print that to a bitmap.
I've tried something like this:
VS2010
Public Sub SaveToImage()
Dim SFD As New SaveFileDialog
[Code]....
PS: I have modded a little bit this datagridview so it looks like a gantt chart with collapsible rows, and variable & multiple timelines at the same time, so the bars might go a long way to the right of the screen, that the main reason for the save to bitmap.
I already know the basic procedure of how to read specific cells of an .xls file using VB.NET but I can't figure out how to automatically get all the data from such a file.Basically, I'm obtaining the data like this:
Dim xlApp As Excel.Application
Dim wb As Workbook
Dim ws As Worksheet
xlApp = New Excel.Application
[code]....
In this case, I know that there will be content in the first 10 rows of the columns A, B and C but what would I have to do if I had a huge document whose size and content might even change from time to time? I know that there is also an attribute ws.rows.count but this always returns a big value like 60000 even if only a few rows are occupied.So basically, I'm looking for a simple way to loop through all the used rows of an Excel file with the possibility of accessing each cell in that row.
