Page_Load Subroutine Is Not Being Called?
Jan 19, 2011have a look at my VB/ASP code and tell me if you can see what's wrong (I highlighted the important segments in red):

Basically, I'm trying to get the Page_Load subroutine to execute on the page load, but it doesn't seem to be called. I'm assuming that because I set my feedback label to "feedback" in the Page_Load subroutine, I should see it displayed on the page saying "feedback" on first loading the page and every time I refresh. But this doesn't happen. I'm lead to conclude that the Page_Load subroutine is not being called on the page load.
Write A Unit Test That Verifies A Subroutine Is Called?

Does Subroutine Called By A Function Have To Finish For Function To Proceed
Jun 5, 2011If a subroutine is called within a function, does the function always wait until that subroutine is completely finished before it will proceed with the rest of the function? If so, is there any way to make it not wait and continue on with the rest of function and not care what happens in the subroutine?

May 27, 2010I'm trying to extend my new WPF Touch Screen Keyboard (DLL) Library, to allow the user to get events from the Touch Screen Object. I'd like to be able to tell the Programmer what Object made the call (or executed the subroutine) that raised the event. Not dissimilar to the Sender as Object event parameters one gets when working with a System Object. Which begs the question, How do I get that information, if I don't ask for it?Is there a way to get this information from some call made in the subroutine about to raise the event?

Feb 9, 2011i was wondering if it possible to have a condition where lets say you have a column in the datatable called amount and a textbox acting as the filter called say maxamount to set it so the rowfilter when filtering the table will sum the number in the amount column until the number in maxamount is met, then stop and only return the rows where the total sum of the amount column is equal or less than the maxamount value, so i guess if the next row takes us over the maxamount it discards this row and returns the rows previous to it. is this possible using datagridview rowfilter or should i be loooking elsewhere to achieve this?

Form Called FrmPracDetails Which Is Built Up With A List View Called LvwColProc
Aug 11, 2009I have a form called FrmPracDetails which is built up with a List view called LvwColProc. Therefore when you click a field on the LvwColProc it takes you to another form called FrmColProcessing, here you can make changes to certain fields which are also present on FrmPracDetails. What I want to do is when you make changes on FrmColProcesing and Click the Save Button (which calls the Save function)the changes appear instantly on FrmPracDetails. Please note, FrmColProcessing will always be open next to FrmPracDetails. I have tried to put this code in the Save function present in FrmCol Processing as shown below, but it doesnt Refresh FrmPracDetails form. [code]

JCL_History.Enqueue(JCL_History(I))
This JCL_History object is basically a Generic.List encapsulated in a wrapper and has the following method:

In my testing I have 2 items in this JCL_History list. When I call that first line of code I posted (the one that invokes Enqueue) with I = 1 I expect the first item to be shuffled to the bottom and the second item to be shuffled to the top.
After the thread returns from Enqueue I notice that this is exactly what happens to my list, HOWEVER if I hit the "step_in" button after the execution of Enqueue I go into the Default Property's set method where Index = 1 and value = and it screws everything up, because the item that got shuffled to the end (index 1) gets overwritten by the item value shuffled to the top.
So basically the set method on the default property is getting called at what I think to be a completely ridiculous time. What gives? By the way I'm running VS2005 on XP.

Apr 11, 2012Can you look at my coding and let me know what I'm missing or doing wrong?I have a SSRS report that is called from a ReportViewer control and the ProcessingMode for this control is Remote. The report also has 1 parameter in it's DataSet.In the code I placed a MsgBox to make sure the code is finding the parameter and returning the parameter name. I am trying to stick the value of 10 into the parameter for playerID 10. Data for this player does exist.
I believe I need to add some more code to make this work but I'm not sure what else to add.
When the code executes the report is displayed but no data is shown in the report.

May 13, 2010I recently found an awesome tool called "Freemind" that is called a 'mind mapping' program. It's similar to MS Visio but way cooler and more automated.I reeeallly would like to integrate this into a VB.net Form, but how?

Jun 18, 2012I am upgrading a 1.1 web app to 4.0 and am running into an issue with the page_load of a custom user control firing twice, both being treated as non-postbacks (IsPostBack is false in the case). I have read around and it seems that there are 2 culprits to this, 1 being an img tag without something in the src part (which there are no images on this page at all) or 2 an issue with AutoEventWireup and Handles being used at the same time. I have looked through all my code and there are no Handles keywords in there at all and AutoEventWireUp is set to true on every page, yet I still get this issue.

Start Session On Page_load?
Apr 26, 2010i have 1 master page with 5 pages that call it. now on the master page, I have few dropdowns and textboxes, and the calling pages only have a small article in the corner. I want to start a session on page_load event, so that if the user chooses to select a dropdown or put data in textbox, even if he clicks on the other 4 links of other pages, the data should stay.how can this be done?

when the page loads , the MsgBox will be empty but when you click the link button the MsgBox has the value you set in the javascript , so i assume that the page_load function gets excuted first

why this wouldn't work in asp.net? The issue is that the label is blank. In vb.net as soon as the form is shown, the lable says "It connected".
Running Event Handlers Before Page_load?
Sep 7, 2011I have a problem with running code in the right order. What I am trying to do is updating a session state variable when I press a button. When I run my code it always runs the event handler for the button after my page_load function.The reason why I need to run it after page_load is that, thatI add a line to the textList. Which the loadGui() should add to a table. The table has a remove button for all lines so the loadGui() function can not be added later becuase then the event handler of the remove buttons wont work.
User press the add button which add a row in the TempResponse Session(TempResponse) gets updated loadGui() runs and includes the newly added row

Sep 7, 2011I have a jQuery modal that pops up when a customer clicks on a link on one of my product pages (which is a classic asp store...) This modal contains an Iframe, Within this Iframe sits my .net vb form.
The src= for the Iframe is populated with script when the link is clicked.when the form is loaded within the Iframe I have a SQL insert on page_load..For some reason Im getting 3 inserts into the database instead of the one? when I debug my app locally it works perfectly.
