View 2 RepliesI now have another problem. The message body is using the XMLMessageFormatter to store the body in MSMQ. I can read this out into an XDocument, but I cannot seem to get any nodes now. The root element is as that the XDocument gets is as follows:

i want to open the outlook from my vb.net application. I want to fill out the To,Subject, Body and Attachment part of mail through my application. here i don't need to send mail . I want to just open the outlook with mail parameter.
View 1 RepliesI am using VB.net to send my mails through outlook. Where i am giving the resource path for the pictures inserted in to it.
But Email shows the inline pictures as attachments. what could be the reason?
The important thing is that this is not happening all the time. if we send 5 to 10 times we get the expected result for 2 or 3 times.
i explored some of the forums , got answers like 'changing the settings, security settings of the office outlook. that too is not succeeded.
I am giving you the code I am using in my project.
The code is given below

I am using Visual Basic 2005 and I am trying to put RichTextBox1 formatted text into Outlook Message body. I got code (see below)
Dim OutApp As Object
Dim OutMail As Object
OutApp = CreateObject("Outlook.Application")
OutApp.Session.Logon()
OutMail = OutApp.CreateItem(0)
[Code] .....
I tried putting below line but I don't get formatted text in the
Message body
.HtmlBody = RichTextBox1.Text
When I changed above line with below I got all the formatting in Message body but I also had extra things like strange code line on top and funny characters in between the text
.HtmlBody = Clipboard.GetText(TextDataFormat.Html)
I am trying to learn a little more about reading and writing Outlook mail messages. So I've written a small app to read my mail messages and pull certain lines from the body. When I run the app I get to a certain point and start getting error messages telling me I have a limit on the number of messages I can have open. With that I figured something is not closing properly. All of the examples I've checked out (I've been at this most of the morning) I've not seen one thing where the code is closing the message after it's been read. I've included the code and as you can tell there's not much to it.

View 1 RepliesI would like to create an outlook message with a subject and some attachments for the user to send when they are ready. I have the file paths for the attachments.
Basically the user needs to click a button on the application and that open an outlook message window with a predefined message and a few attachments. They should then be able to modify and add the required "To" etc before sending via outlook.

View 1 RepliesWe have an excel spreadsheet with about 10000 names (company and email address) and we need to send some legal docs to them. I'm looking for a way to automate this either via a macro in excel or templates in outlook.Problem with macro in excel is that the code I was able to findcustomize doesn't let me insert a formatted text in the message body.[code]...

View 11 RepliesIm trying to prepare outlook message (with prefilled subject, attachment etc.) and open it for the user in outlook.
Outlook is 2007, Win 7.0.
Problem is, that I cannot instantiate Outlook.Application. Everytime it fall with ActiveX error (cannot create instance) or CLS ID identifier is invalid.
I tried (as reference have outlook 12 and office 12 object library)
Dim objOutlook As New Outlook.Application - CLS ID error
objOutlook = CreateObject("Outlook.Application") - ActiveX error
objOutlook = CreateObject("Outlook.Application", "localhost") - ActiveX error
I found a lot of threads in net, but nothing works for me (always same error on PCs of other developers too).
I have created an application which consists of 3 Layers: GUI-BLL-DLL. When I am loading a flat file I am doing this in the DLL but I want to show to the user the process through a progress bar in the GUI. So I want to pass the variable LineCounts from the DLL to GUI. I know that I have to use EVENTS

I'm trying to program in a true object oriented manner and its causing me to re-learn a few things. Specifically, I'm having some trouble with error handling. I have all of my data access being performed by an adapter class in a seperate project. I can catch duplicate records without any problems, but I want to be able to send a message back to the user. Here's what I have so far:

While I understand there are properties of MailItem that would allow one to programmatically create a formatted email, I would prefer the ability to copy the body of an email that is already formatted to my liking (bolding, italicizing, embedded pictures/tables, set margins, etc.) copy and paste it to a newly composed email such that this formatting is preserved.
View 4 RepliesI have two tables:
table1
case_no flow result
tc_1 001 pass
tc_1 002 pass
tc_1 003 pass
tc_2 001 pass
tc_2 002 fail
tc_2 003 pass
table2"
case_no result
tc_1 pass
tc_2 fail
Table2 should be updates from table based on the results... If all results is PASS then the table2 should be updated as pass... if any result is FAIL then the entire case_no should be updates a s fail..
This code was working consistently, but now...This code works on the first pass.Then second pass it just hangs on Code:Dim tcpClient As TcpClient = tcpListener.AcceptTcpClient() for about 2 minutesThen the code will fork for another pass, then fail.....

Just started VB programming this week and have found a wealth of information about what I'm trying to do. Problem is, some of it is more complete than others.Here's what I'm trying to do:In Form1 (my main form), I want to instantiate a class that contains a couple of properties (speed setpoint and position setpoint). When I click a button, I want to pass this data to Form2 and populate two textboxes on Form2 with the properties of this object. I want to manipulate the property values on Form2 and click an OK button which closes the dialog and returns the manipulated data, updating the property values of the object. Here's the algorithm I'm following:1) On Form1, instantiate the class2) On Form1's "Pass Data" button click event handler, instantiate a Form2 object and invoke the ShowDialog method, passing the object as a parameter.
3) On Form2, overload the ShowDialog method to accept the object as a parameter and modify the method so that it returns the manipulated class data.4) On Form2, in the ShowDialog method, populate the textboxes with the class data that was passed in.Here's where I get stuck. If I press the OK button on Form2 (DialogResult.OK), it returns me to Form1, but what hook do I have in Form1 to receive the manipulated class data that the ShowDialog method is returning?Here's an example of what I'm thinking about:
Code:
Public Class Form1
Dim clsController1 As New MotionController

I'm sure it's probably a very elementary question, but every explanation I've found seems to be incomplete.
create a message box that stores my user name, message, and post datetime into the database as messages are sent. Soon came to realise, what if the user changed his name? So I decided to use the user id (icn) to identify the message poster instead. However, my chunk of codes keep giving me the same error. Says that there are no rows in the dataset.
Protected Sub Page_Load(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Me.Load
Dim name As String
Dim icn As String
Dim message As String

how to create an error message by message box to tell the user to enter a number only if they key in a character value?
I MEAN AFTER THEY PRESS THE CALCULATE BUTTON
Private Sub btnCalcFat_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles btnCalcFat.Click
Dim intFat As Integer
intFat = Integer.Parse(txtFat.Text)
lblResultDisplay.Text = txtFat.Text * 9
End Sub
My text box is call txtFat
I try many things but could not find it.
txtResult(1).Text = WebBrowser1.document.Body.InnerText
txtResult(2).Text = WebBrowser1.document.Body.OuterText
txtResult(3).Text = WebBrowser1.document.Body.InnerHtml
txtResult(4).Text = WebBrowser1.document.Body.OuterHtml
get only text in webpage body.

View 1 RepliesI am trying to do what I thought would be simple (especialloy since it worked like a charm in VB 6 with the mapi control:The program populates a multi-line text box with information based on user selections The user hits a button and it pulls up his email client with the subject and body filled in so that he can select a recepient and send off the information. The problem. The text always comes out as a single line run together How can I get line breaks back into the body?
The code that doesn't work is:
Dim sendthis As String = ""
sendthis = sendthis & "mailto:"
sendthis = sendthis & "&subject=New Loss for client " & frmMain.Clt & " Number: " & frmMain.Claim (frmMianClt and frMainClaim are string properties of the mdi container)

This is probably the piece of code with the most errors: i have inserted the errors as comments under which parts they are to do with but some of them shouldn't be there because there are preceding ifs and property methods.
