Create A Message Box That Stores User Name, Message And Post Datetime Into The Database As Messages Are Sent?
Jan 6, 2010
create a message box that stores my user name, message, and post datetime into the database as messages are sent. Soon came to realise, what if the user changed his name? So I decided to use the user id (icn) to identify the message poster instead. However, my chunk of codes keep giving me the same error. Says that there are no rows in the dataset.
Protected Sub Page_Load(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Me.Load
Dim name As String
Dim icn As String
Dim message As String
how to create an error message by message box to tell the user to enter a number only if they key in a character value?
I MEAN AFTER THEY PRESS THE CALCULATE BUTTON
Private Sub btnCalcFat_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles btnCalcFat.Click Dim intFat As Integer intFat = Integer.Parse(txtFat.Text) lblResultDisplay.Text = txtFat.Text * 9 End Sub
I have the code below which works fine, however, if a mandatory field is not populated it prompts a message box, what I want to do is display ONLY one message box and show all the messages at one go, instead of one at a time. Also, I want the cursor to be prompting to the next mandatory field to be inserted according to the list.
I was wondering if i have multiple emulated mouse devices created already can I have a window that accepts WM_INPUT messages be sent messages as if it was from a specific emulated mouseFor instance, I have mouse device 1 (not system mouse device but the extra one) installed but wish to receive messages from it and the system mouse still and be able to send messages that appear as if they are coming from that device. Is that scenario possible?I can provide hardware specific information if need be because its just a generic mouse device and report descriptors are provided at usb.org for them. I know what the input report is going to contain i just need to send it as if it comes from a specificmouse device.
i need a code that sends message to a window if it minizied and that is a api is it possible? i did hear aboutt the post/send message but i dont have any code for it, and would it work for an api?
I was just wondering if there was a way with, using VB.net, be able to create a program to detect when a message is received in Windows Live Messenger, and alert the user?Essentially, MSN is minimized in background and our program, Program A, is also running in backgroung.Friend X sends us a message, the MSN icon blinks as usualy, but also a window pops up and shows the name of the user and the message.I was just wondering if there was a way to connect to MSN in some fom to be able to do this?
sendmessage on twitter and Facebook i use WPE for packet but that packet to encryption please source code or example for sendmessage on Twitter and Facebook
I'm developing a program where I've had to add a keyboard shortcuts system. The problem is it uses a third party OCX for a part of its display, and it is catching some essential WM_KEYDOWN messages when in focus, like Ctrl+C, Ctrl+V, etc. I've tried catching the WM_KEYDOWN message through WndProc, but the message is not propagating, so I guess the keyboard messages go from the inner container to the outer one, don't they?
The WM_KEYUP messages can be caught tho, but I'd prefer to be able to catch some of those messages on the KeyDown event. I'm aware I could make some low-level hook, but I'd like to avoid this workaround. Well, if the WM_KEYDOWN message goes from the OCX to its top level container, I guess I'll have to treat those key combinations in the KeyUp event.
I'm having the following error message with a date value in production server. "The conversion of a char data type to a datetime data type resulted in an out-of-range datetime value" In the development server the problem never happened. Both production and development servers have the same OS (Windows Server 2003), updates and settings including the regional settings options. The regional options is set to Arabic (Saudi Arabia) and the date is customized to use (English) gorgerin calendar. The non-Unicode is set to Arabic (Saudi Arabia).
My solution contains an ASP.NET web application and a class library. In my class library project I'm trying to get a list of rows from the database (SQL 2005) and I'm using a date rang [Code] Is there a way that I can use to manipulate dates regardless of the regional options settings?
I have to create an application that prompts the user to enter today's sales for five stores. The program should then display a simple bar graph comparing each store's sales. Create each bar in the bar graph by displaying a row of asterisks (*) in a list box. Each asterisk in a bar represents $100 in sales. I have to make two different versions of this program. One using a "do while ... loop" and the other using a "for ... next loop". Could someone give me a hint on how to do this. I the "do while ... loop" version and I have had some problems, especially with converting the numbers to asterisks.
Private Sub btnDisplay_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles btnDisplay.Click 'Clear everything
this is my first vb. and i have assignment and i have been trying for hours but i couldn't do it right I have to create an application that prompts the user to enter today's sales for five stores. Create a loop to prompt for an amount for the first store using an inputbox and do not exit until you have good data. The inputs cannot be negative or greater than 5000, but may contain decimal values. The program should then display a simple bar graph corresponding to the amount of sales using a row of asterisks (*) in a listbox. Each asterisk represents $100 in sales. Display the total of all the stores by looping this process for each store.
I am trying to write some messages to a text file using debug.writeline("Message"). Here is the code.
Dim Tr As TextWriterTraceListener Tr = New TextWriterTraceListener(System.IO.File.CreateText("Output1.txt")) 'Tr = New TextWriterTraceListener(System.Console.Out) Debug.Listeners.Add(Tr) Debug.WriteLine("Test Message")
I see the output1.txt file being created but nothing being written in the file.
I am using Visual Studio 2005 for coding. I am doing an exercise where I have to create a data lookup program. The program is to illustrate the concepts of using a database to look up information based on user input. The program allows a user to input two search criteria for a product search. The program then displays each individual search result, or record that meets the search criteria in a message box. I am not getting the message box and I don't know why. No errors are present during compiling so I have no indication as to where the problem is.

So im trying to allow the user to send a message to an application on a server telling it to do different things. So i build the client and the server side applications and tested them on my computer and another computer here. Everything worked great, just like i wanted it to.
When I moved the server application to the actual server and tried connection via the internet, it did not work. I got the error message: An error has occured : A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond IPADDRESS:PORT
Well then I realized chances are a VPN connection to my server and using my servers name instead of my servers IPADDRESS would fix this problem, which it did.
I dont want to require the user to have to create a VPN connection, i dont really care reather they use the IPaddress or not, although if theres a fix for that too it would be great. Heres my code: (I have marked where the error occured)
I want to display a message to the user if certain criteria is not met. Example of this would be - If "B" is equal to or less than "A", I want to display a message to the user.
With the code i have written can someone tell me how to make each user of the chat room have a different color message(text color) and were to place the code to do that.[code]
i want to make a message box appear when the user presses Alt k (then) Alt e (then) alt j . is this the correct code to use?:
Private Sub form1_KeyDown(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.Windows.Forms.KeyEventArgs) Handles txt3.KeyDown Dim intcount As Integer = 0 If e.Alt And e.KeyCode.ToString = "k" Then intcount = intcount + 1
I am sending a DDE message to a client using System.Text.Encoding.ASCII.GetBytes(item) . However, before the message is actually sent, I would like to get the message coded where if the item="Ask" then item=Ask (string variable) and so on. The code is:
Protected Overrides Function OnRequest(ByVal conversation As DdeConversation, ByVal item As String, ByVal format As Integer) As RequestResult ' Return data to the client only if the format is CF_TEXT
I need to create a message box that pops up and says "I am looping, do you want me to continue" with a Yes or No option. If user answers "Yes", I need to continue the loop with another message box with the same question. If the user answers "No", stop the loop.
I have tried this over and over and I get it to the point where if I click "NO" the first time, the message box goes away. but if I click "yes" the first time, no matter how many times I click "NO", the message box will not go away.
This is What I have....
Dim intResult As Integer intResult = MessageBox.Show("I am Looping. Do you want me to continue?", "Loop", MessageBoxButtons.YesNo)
i would like to create a new line in my Message Box, i would like it to appear like this...New Read Number must be greater than Zero OR Make sure ther's a data in both input boxes [code]
I would like to create an Outlook message with most of the text filled and the user just has to click send. I rather have the user click Send than for the program to send the message automatically. The below code doesn't work. What modifications does it need?
Dim objSmtpMail As System.Net.Mail.SmtpClient Dim Attachment As System.Net.Mail.Attachment Dim Mailmsg As New System.Net.Mail.MailMessage
I have added Two Factor Authentication to my Mobile ASP.Net Web App. When the user successfully enters their User Name and Password then a pin number is emailed to their email address which is stored in the database. The issue I am having is that after notifying the user that they don't have an email defined and then reload the login page but my code isn't notifying the user rather it is just reloading the Login.aspx page:
