Date Conversion Error Message: Out Of Range Datetime Value
Mar 18, 2009
I'm having the following error message with a date value in production server. "The conversion of a char data type to a datetime data type resulted in an out-of-range datetime value" In the development server the problem never happened. Both production and development servers have the same OS (Windows Server 2003), updates and settings including the regional settings options. The regional options is set to Arabic (Saudi Arabia) and the date is customized to use (English) gorgerin calendar. The non-Unicode is set to Arabic (Saudi Arabia).
My solution contains an ASP.NET web application and a class library. In my class library project I'm trying to get a list of rows from the database (SQL 2005) and I'm using a date rang [Code] Is there a way that I can use to manipulate dates regardless of the regional options settings?
Mostly got these errors : The conversion of a varchar data type to a datetime data type resulted in an out-of-range value. Conversion failed when converting date and/or time from character string.
[code] "The conversion of a char data type to a datetime data type resulted in an out-of-range datetime value. The statement has been terminated." [code]
Im having an issue with a Stored Procedure I have written,I can call it in management studio and it works fine, yet calling it from my codebehind gives this error The conversion of a varchar data type to a datetime data type resulted in an out-of-range value. when i call da.Fill(dt)What is really puzzling me here is that I dont actually convert anything from varchar to datetime, the most I do with the date variables is format them into a different datetime format.
My VB.Net code Private Function dbGetEvents(ByVal start As DateTime, ByVal days As Integer) As DataTable Dim dt As New DataTable()[code].....
I cant see where this error could be coming from, having tested running it in SQL management studio without error I am pretty sure the error is in the VB.My first thought was that maybe the parameter I am passing in the @start / @end values arent being recognised as DateTime so I tried adding the parameters like:
Dim p As New SqlParameter p.SqlDbType = SqlDbType.DateTime p.ParameterName = "@start"[code]....
Working with an If statement I have tried the following
If -0.6 > (LLum_Gline(8).X - LLum_Gline(12).X) > 0.6 Then patient_frm.llum_gline = 2 MsgBox("Measurement is Abnormal") End If
I am getting an error message that says Argument out of range exception unhandled. I have double checked and verified that LLum_Gline(8).X and LLum_Gline(12).X are in fact valid. Is my problem simply in how i am phrasing the If statement. Is there a way for me to phrase what im doing without writing multiple if statements?
I am trying to bind an Access database to a MSChart control in VB Net 2008. I have a test database populated with four fields SAMPLE-DateTime, Values-Number, MAX-Number and MIN-Number. I'd like to only display the rows that fall within a specific date range but I'm running into a problem when i try to execute the following command:
cmd = "SELECT SAMPLE,VALUES,MAX,MIN FROM TABLE1 WHERE [CHECK_DATE] BETWEEN 01/01/2009 AND 01/01/2011"
I'm receiving an error when trying to query a range of dates from a MS SQL DB in MVC Entity Framework. Unable to cast the type 'System.Boolean' to type 'System.Data.SqlTypes.SqlBoolean'. LINQ to Entities only supports casting Entity Data Model primitive types. This is our query:
In my fresh installation of Visual Studio Professional 2005 Visual Basic I have typed this code
dim olddate as date olddate=datevalue("01-01-2006")
I receive an error: index out of range exception
On an other pc with the same fresh installation this do not happen. Why ? I have tried with other funtions : ctype, cdate but I receive the same error, while on an other pc this code is fine.
I have a Client/Server application. Both Client & Server use to be in 32-bit machines. Every thing was working fine.
When I moved the "Application Server" to a 64-bit machine, I am getting "Error converting varchar to datetime" in almost every screen that has a date picker in it.[code]...
create a message box that stores my user name, message, and post datetime into the database as messages are sent. Soon came to realise, what if the user changed his name? So I decided to use the user id (icn) to identify the message poster instead. However, my chunk of codes keep giving me the same error. Says that there are no rows in the dataset.
Protected Sub Page_Load(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Me.Load Dim name As String Dim icn As String Dim message As String
The error is: Conversion failed when converting date and/or time from character string.Basically I'm trying to make it so that when someone clicks a location in a list box it increments the correct field in a Stats table by 1 to say that they clicked the location. I've been trying to solve this for a while now and can't get anywhere. My date is in date format, and so is the Date field in my Stats table. My code can be seen below.
Dim Current As String Dim Check As String Dim objCmd2 As Object
[code]....
The issue comes in with the second SQL statement I think. I don't understand why adding a date into a date field would be an issue, I've tried adding it as a string which didn't work.
Dim i as integer For i = 0 to 365 sqlinsert.InsertCommand="insert into cashdate (date) values (getdate()+'" & i & "')"[code]....
getdate is a function in the database that returns the datetime of now i have an error that says conversion failed when converting date or time from character string .what to do now ??
I did a clean install and tried to get the project running again. The code ... AlteredDate = SelectedDay & "/" & SelectedMonth & "/" & SelectedYear would always work defaulting to DD/MM/YYYY before the clean install. The program now runs an error "Conversion from string "13/8/2009" to type Date is not valid.. How do I change the default back to DD MM YYYY or format it to that?
Would it be possible to search a table, confining to a specific date range based on a date-time column, and get a count of the 10 most used words in a particular var-char column excluding a list of words? All in SQL?Currently I am pulling out the records that match and sorting through the contents outside of SQL, I would think where I can do it directly on the server it would be more efficient.(SQL 2008)
When user stores a record, I need to make sure dates don't overlap. My simple code checks date ranges within a specific record (e.g. user enters 9/16/2011 or 10/21/2011, I throw an exception.)But, on the slim chance a user gets creative (e.g. 10/14/2011 - 10/23/2011 or even 10/14/2011 to 11/16/2011), now they have circumvented my check.BTW, the user could enter 10/14/2011 to 10/23/2011 if they were editing the record that contained values 10/15/2011 - 10/22/2011.So, I'm trying to solve this riddle with a linq query. However, what I have isn't working exactly right.
UPDATE Nevermind about code not working. While trying to provide an example to expand on Miika's repsonse, I found my answer. So, giving credit to Miika for pointing me in the right direction and posting my working code below:
Here's my code:
Private Sub CheckForOverlap(myMonth As Messages.MyMonth) Dim am As New MyMonth() Dim amCollection As Messages.MyMonthCollection
I am trying to get a list of dates from a provided StartDate and EndDate in my database, and use these dates to link to dates in a database (to display another variable on the y-axis of the chart) and to populate the x-axis of a chart (with the list of dates). Is it possible to get a list of dates in VB and pass them into a chart this way?
When I open by form and close it when txtprojend.text is empty I receive unhandled exceptional error in the code below; How can ignore and never receive the exceptional unhandled problem. Conversion from string "" to type 'Date' is not valid.
The function below gives the error:Conversion from string "AMI" to type 'Date' is not valid.InvalidCastException was unhandled.
Public Shared Function LoadPatHist() As List(Of PatHist) Dim PatHist As New List(Of PatHist) Using conn As New System.Data.SqlClient.SqlConnection() conn.ConnectionString = ConnectionString
I received this error when trying to launch a button. After entering a date of 01/02/2009 it returned this error: "Conversion from string "" to type 'Date' is not valid." My code is as follows:
Protected Sub Page_Load(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Me.Load Me.txtVerifiedInfo.Text = Request.Item("txtFirstName") & _ Chr(13) & Chr(10) & Request.Item("txtLastName") & _
I'm using a date/time picker control and sending the db value to it. I know that the value is null, but I don't understand why the Picker can't be blank. Is there a way to let it be blank? Or should I set up a way to check for nulls and assign today's date or something just in case?
I need to be able to do enter a workshift in a program. In access it made no issue of the fact that date/time was the format. Now in my program when I enter a shift for example
begin: 08:00:00 end: 16:00:00 t converts it to this in MySQL 2008/00/00 00:00:00 and 2016/00/00 00:00:00.
