i have problem that i know once someone answers, i will kick myself, but here goes. i need to move the text next to the radio button to the left of the radio button, that part is easy just make sure the the "right to left" is maked yes, got it. but, the problem is i am making a seating chart and the seats are labeled 10-a, 10-b etc.... when the right to left is set to yes my text reverses and becomes a-10 and i can't seem to figure out what is set in the properties the is causing the alpha to be placed before the numeric.

I'm in the midst of creating the classic "Higher or Lower" game and am trying to learn new things and different techniques. Firstly: I have 3 radio buttons in a group box which have 3 difficulty settings (easy, normal, difficult) and would like it so when one just hovered over a radio button a little caption would pop up saying the maximum score possible. For example, hovering over the "easy" radio button will say "Max Score: 1000".

I have to do a questionaire that gives three questions with multiple choice answers. When the user clicks a radio button it displays a tick or cross depending whether the answer is correct or incorrect. I also want to display, on a label, the number of correct answers with the number of attempts. i.e 1 out of 3. I have listed the code I have for the questions and radio buttons and I know I have to declare form variables but I do not know how to get it to recognise the radio button as a number to add to the total.
Private Sub radBevan_CheckedChanged(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles radBevan.CheckedChanged
If radBevan.Checked = True Then lblScore.Text = "Incorrect. The answer is Beveridge."
If radBevan.Checked = True Then picTick1.Hide()
If radBevan.Checked = True Then picCross1.Show()
End Sub

I have a series of radio buttons in a Group Box on my main form. When I run the program, the first step is Sub New and the InitializeComponent() procedure.
It then immediately goes to the first radio button CheckedChanged event. This even currently contains some programming to access information from a database table. However, the program hasn't even gone through the process of opening the database and logging in. This doesn't happen until after my frmMain.Load event. However, this happens after the CheckedChanged event for some reason. So now that I have included the data requirement, I am getting errors because the reader is opening before the connection opens. I know I can set up a Try....Catch....End Try to avoid a user error, but ...I thought the form would have to load before anything about the controls happens and then since I haven't clicked anything, I am not sure why the event is triggering.

In my project I would like to call an exe so that exe pop up will come with a Login Screen with 2 buttons Login and Cancel.In those 2 buttons, login button is focussed default. Now my application should invoke the Login button automatically. Means there won't be Pressing ENTER KEY or Mouse Button Etc. Just after the Login Screen, there is a 2nd Screen that has 5 different Radio buttons, the 1st Radio button is always the default. So I also want to click this radio button automatically without using the keyboard or the mouse. y intention is that, the application should do that automatically.
I have tried with getting the handle of the focused Button by GetFocus method and tried to send that handle to the application by SendMessage and PostMessage. But it's not working.So can any body give some suggestion regarding this?

I think I've seen something like this before - where the actual function returns a value. Is this possible? Or would I have to pass an integer variable from the sub to the function, and then return it back to the sub?

I'm using VB.NET within Visual Studio 2008.I have a ActiveX control on my form that contains a method that takes an Array. In VB6 I just passed in the array and it was populated OK. When I do the same in VB.NET, I get a result but the value of each index appears to be a pointer.Here is the C++ method code...
void CMyCtrl::GetRowInfo(const VARIANT FAR& vArray, short sNumRows)
{
// Declaretemp array to put the row list into
short asRowList[24];
[code]....
Here is the VB code (same VB6 and VB.NET...
Dim maintRowList(0 To 23) As Integer
AxMyCtrl.GetRowInfo(maintRowList, 24)
In VB6, the value of maintRowList(0) is in the range 0 to Windows screen height(its a pixel value)In VB.NET the value of maintRowList(0) is a value that looks like a pointer to me (e.g 285671429).In VB.NET, the type of the 1st parameter is Object. In VB6 it is a Variant. I've tried AxMyCtrl.GetRowInfo(maintRowList(0), 24) and got the same result. I think I need to get a pointer to either the array or the first element of the array but I can't see a way to do that. how I can pass an array to this type of C++ ActiveX method?BTW - I cannot change the ActiveX code so the solution must be within VB.NET.

User will use a button1.click to open a filedialog to locate the file they needed. after which, the name of the file will appear on a textbox. Button2 is an OK button to write the filename into a txt file. Button2.click will work with the 3 radio buttons - meaning when Radio Button 1 is true and Button2.click is clicked, the filename will be saved asFile1.txt.if Radio Button 2 is true and Button2.click is clicked, the filename will be saved as File2.txt. Likewise to Radio Button 3

In VB.NET, it is entirely possible to pass an integer as a string parameter to a method without calling .ToString() - it's even possible to call .ToString without the ()'s. The code will run without a problem, VB will interpret the integer as a string without having been told to. In C#, these would cause compilation errors - you are required to call .ToString() and to call it correctly in that situation before it will compile. Is there a way to make the VB compilation process check for the same things as the C# compilation process? Would it be best practice in a mixed team to force this check?
