Sep 24, 2011I have created a bound DataGridView and then added an unbound checkbox (name=select) for selecting multiple rows. The problem I'm having is the row doesn't actually get selected when I set .selected to true which I'm doing in the CellValueChanged event. When I trace it the code is properly executed but the row is not highlighted when the checkbox is checked and consequently not selected in the grid.There is no mouse or keyboard and the input device is a USB button panel which we built.

VS 2005 Save Datagridview Multiple Rows?
May 5, 2010i want to save into my sql server 2000 database multiples rows of a datagridview. i tryed something that first was working good, but i did a code change removing a column so now i'm trying to save again but i can't do it. It's shows me a message error like this: THERE ARE FEWER COLUMNS IN THE INSERT STATEMENT THAN VALUES ESPECIFIED IN THE VALUES CLAUSE. I rewrite the code, delete and add a new table and my code has the same values in the insert than my values clause. I don't know what else i have to do.

Removing Multiple Selected Rows From DataGridView That Is Binded To List(Of T)?
Dec 8, 2011I have a datagridview binded to a list of objects... I have a column named Selected containing a checkbox. When these checkboxes are checked and a button is clicked, I want those particular rows to be removed. I initially set it out to iterate through the grid's rows and RemoveAt(SelectedRowIndex) but of course when it removes an object from the List of objects at the selected row (IE Row 1, 4 and 6), the list indexes change and it fails to work properly when it goes to remove the next row since Row 4 is now row 3 in the list...? What is the best way to do this?

Apr 27, 2011I have a datagridview with 4 columns (bound to a datasource).The following code ensures only numbers can be typed in the first column, all but numbers in the 2nd column, and only letters in the 3rd and 4th cooumn. It also converts the input in column 3 and 4 to capital letters.

The problem I have is that the user still has the possibility to place restricted characters in a column by pasting them in (with ctrl+v or right click-->paste), because the keypress doesn't notice the pasting.What should I do to make it impossible for the user to use restricted characters? In other words, how can i check the text the user wants to paste in a cell (cause that's the only other way to input data I can imagine)

Nov 28, 2011I am looking for a howto or someone expert in ADO.NET who can explain me how to properly solve the following scenario:I have two datatables in a dataset:
ParentTable (ParentID, Name) for user data ChildTable (ParentID, ActivityID, ...) for schedule data
Tables are linked together at the database level by ParentID which is an Identity column in ParentTable.
Both tables are data bound to a separate DataGridView on the GUI. There supposed to be a "1 parent/N children" relationship between the tables, meaning if I create a new entry in the ParentTable (a new user) I get a clean DataGrid in the child grid to type schedule data for the user. So I setup two DataAdapters for each table to fill their result into a DataSet. I also set up a DataRelation object and assign it to the DataSet to link the two tables by their ParentID columns. Also when I add a row into the ChildTable via DataGrid I use SetParentRow to set the parent row.

Jul 30, 2010How would i delete only the successful inserted rows for insert and then move the non successful rows up and allow the user to correct the data and get it ready for an insert. If i dont delete the successful rows then i will have multiple inserts of the same dataRow and we dont want that! AND if i dont move the data up then it will have blank rows uptop and will end the try and not insert the corrected data. You can better see what logic i am trying to perform at the bottom of my code, right after I insert into the database. Here is my code.

SQL Performance Timeouts - Adding Multiple Rows In Multiple Tables In The Database
Sep 12, 2011I have a vb.net web application and when a particular function runs , i get data timeouts in the rest of the application..(ie..row not found errors or column does not belong to table but it does) The function is adding multiple rows in multiple tables in the database and is running in a for loop. It seems to be all SQL related but I am not seeing anything in the error logs in SQL or in the application Right now I am assuming it is memory related where to start note..the for loop will be replaced with a bulk insert but right now I jest need to resolve the issue of the timeouts

I am attempting to fill a form with multiple rows from an access table based off of a parameterized query. My query works fine but I don't want to return one row at a time, I want to return all rows that match my query in multiple text boxes. I know that I can use a datagrid view to accomplish this, but I would prefer the look of a textboxes on a form. I have read through many books and searched the internet forums but think I may just not know what to search for as nothing has worked yet. Can anyone point me in the right direction. So far I have tried setting the text box value to the row().item(), creating a different dataset for each row, and even setting variables for the results of the query to then be passed to the text boxes. Since none of this work, I don't really have any starting code to post. If I could just get a starting point I could work from there, so don't feel the need to code anything for me, just set me in the right direction.

I keep getting an error "Invalid Operation Exception was Unhandled" error. All I am attempting to do is allow the user to select products from a list(or a second datagridview) and have it added to the datagridview so they do not have to type in every cell since the other cells are not visible because they do not purtain to their needs. Plus they will be able to save all items at the same time.

Am not sure whether am using the right approach to my problem. See i have this datagridview that contains rows that i would like have saved back into the Database as new rows but with a column altered to a new value.
Eg

What am looking at is Change FKColumn2 (some foreign key, maybe i can also have a combo box somewhere on the form and an "import to") values to something like 2 and save the rows back to the database without loosing the original rows.
DataGridView - Nonvisible Rows Are Still Visible And The DataGridView Is Empty Despite Having A DataSource

Background information: The DataGridView (DataGridViewCalib) is in one TabPage of a TabControl, some columns of the DataGridView are automatically DataGridViewCheckBoxColumn as the DataSource have some colums which are Boolean. This is a Windows Form written in VB.Net with Visual Studio 2008. The user loads an input data file.
The problems:
1) At first arrival in the TabPage, ShowDataGridViewCalib (code below) is called. All rows are then shown in the DataGridView, despite the code saying that some rows should not be visible. Breakpoints in the code show that the code do arrive at the Rows.Visible = False events. Despite all rows beeing shown a Watch in the debugger shows that:
