Select Multiple Random Rows In DatagridView With Keypress?

I need to select multiple random rows in DatagridView with keypress.Ex:
Row1 -selected
Row2 -not selected
Row3 - selected
I do have part of code that will update certain field in database on keypress, but i have no idea how to create multiple selection and display it on DataGrid.CTRL+Click is nice, but I would like to have option of selecting rows with keypress.In following code I am checking if certain field is marked for selection(i want to give user an option to start selection, exit program then continue selection later) but it allways select all rows in table (even if only one is marked).

I'm using DGV to display data. I also have a DFVCheckboxColumn. If user checks a checkbox column the data from that row is transfered to database. i'm able to select multiple columns with pressing the CTRL key.But i wanna select multiple rows without pressing CTRL key. Can someone give me samplecode or guide me in this

I have an EnumerableRowCollection that looks like the following:
VendorCode | GroupType | Variance
01165 G .16
01165 G .16
01165 CH .16
01165 CH .18
07754 G .25
07754 G .25
07754 G .39
Essentially, this is a massive list of vendor codes, their groups, and price variances. I need to compose a query that will create a distinct list vendor codes and group types. The catch, however, is that I need to evaluate all of the variances associated with that particular VendorCode/GroupType to see if they are all the same - it they are not, I need to return some way of signifying that the group has a "custom" variance, otherwise it needs to return the value (ie: if they are all .16, then return .16, if there are multiple values, return "custom")
The result would look like this, based off of the list I showed above.
VendorCode | GroupType | Variance
01165 G .16
01165 CH custom
07754 G custom
I have no trouble getting a distinct list of VendorCode/GroupType - this is what I have so far:
Dim distinctList = From q In query Select q.VendorCode, q.GroupType, (evaluated q.Variance here?) Distinct
(where "query" is an EnumerableRowCollection(Of (anonymous type)))
I'm at a loss, though, on how to evaluate the variance property to get the result that I need?

I am almost there but for some reason I don't find the answer to my issue. Here it goes. In my application I have a form which displays a data grid view with some info I get through XML from a web server. The data grid view have as first column a Check Box colum. The second column have the information I get into a variable (from cells), one by one, to pass it to the sub with the XML command.
What I want to do is to be able to select all the rows and send the cell info of the second row (only for the selected rows) to my sub which will execute once then send the second cell info and execute the sub and so on until all the loop is complete. Currently my code works only if I delete one row at a time (sending the XML code will delete the info in the web server and update the datagridview which in return will remove the item).

I want the user only to be able to select rows and not individual cells in a VB.NET DataGridView. Is there a way to make this happen? I don't see an option for the DataGridView object to control this via properties.

Is it possible to add a button column to a datagridview and then remove a select group of these from rows without removing the rows themselves? That is, I want the ability to hide or remove these buttons in certain rows after certain actions have occured. I realized that I could simply delete the rows with these buttons, but I want to keep the data in these rows visible without the user thinking they have to use the buttons. I am assuming that I can also disable the buton in the desired rows as well.

I have added an unbound checkbox column to my DGV. I have two questions on handling it:
1. How to have a checkbox on this Column header, which on checking must check all the rows in the DGV and vice versa?
2. How do i get the Boolean value of the checked rows in DGV on event handling? In other words, how do i know what rows are selected?

I need to highlight rows in an unbound datagridview at runtime.I've tried to highlight right after adding the row using dgv.Rows.Add(row0)dgv.CurrentRow.Selected = True
This has no apperent effect as none of the rows are highlighted.How do I get various rows to highlight at runtime.

I have created a bound DataGridView and then added an unbound checkbox (name=select) for selecting multiple rows. The problem I'm having is the row doesn't actually get selected when I set .selected to true which I'm doing in the CellValueChanged event. When I trace it the code is properly executed but the row is not highlighted when the checkbox is checked and consequently not selected in the grid.There is no mouse or keyboard and the input device is a USB button panel which we built.

i want to save into my sql server 2000 database multiples rows of a datagridview. i tryed something that first was working good, but i did a code change removing a column so now i'm trying to save again but i can't do it. It's shows me a message error like this: THERE ARE FEWER COLUMNS IN THE INSERT STATEMENT THAN VALUES ESPECIFIED IN THE VALUES CLAUSE. I rewrite the code, delete and add a new table and my code has the same values in the insert than my values clause. I don't know what else i have to do.

My below is not an error. It just I need an alternative way of doing thing. I have a DataGridView which has a DataSource of DataTable on a Form. In this form, I have a 'Remove Selected' button which will remove all selected rows in DataGridView. And another 'Remove All' button which will remove all rows in DataGridView regardless of rows selected or not.

Directly on the form I have a lable ("Customer Names"), a ComboBox (pulling actually names from a database) , and a Buton to add a customer to the database if i choose. Additionally I have ControlTab(3 tabs) that has "fields" and its own Buttons to insert data into a different table. I have a datagridview binded to a list of objects... I have a column named Selected containing a checkbox. When these checkboxes are checked and a button is clicked, I want those particular rows to be removed. I initially set it out to iterate through the grid's rows and RemoveAt(SelectedRowIndex) but of course when it removes an object from the List of objects at the selected row (IE Row 1, 4 and 6), the list indexes change and it fails to work properly when it goes to remove the next row since Row 4 is now row 3 in the list...? What is the best way to do this?

I am looking for a howto or someone expert in ADO.NET who can explain me how to properly solve the following scenario:I have two datatables in a dataset:
ParentTable (ParentID, Name) for user data ChildTable (ParentID, ActivityID, ...) for schedule data
Tables are linked together at the database level by ParentID which is an Identity column in ParentTable.
Both tables are data bound to a separate DataGridView on the GUI. There supposed to be a "1 parent/N children" relationship between the tables, meaning if I create a new entry in the ParentTable (a new user) I get a clean DataGrid in the child grid to type schedule data for the user. So I setup two DataAdapters for each table to fill their result into a DataSet. I also set up a DataRelation object and assign it to the DataSet to link the two tables by their ParentID columns. Also when I add a row into the ChildTable via DataGrid I use SetParentRow to set the parent row.

I am learning C# after tried Java. Ive tried to program a program that can detect keystrokes, however when i add onKeyDown on my form it work but only one key at a time. So ive tried to add my e.keycode detect to a timer and got error. private void key_Tick(object sender, System.EventArgs e, KeyEventArgs e)
That wont work and the timer wont run becuase i have 2 Args. Im really lost and do not really understand

How would i delete only the successful inserted rows for insert and then move the non successful rows up and allow the user to correct the data and get it ready for an insert. If i dont delete the successful rows then i will have multiple inserts of the same dataRow and we dont want that! AND if i dont move the data up then it will have blank rows uptop and will end the try and not insert the corrected data. You can better see what logic i am trying to perform at the bottom of my code, right after I insert into the database. Here is my code.
