I set the PictureBox1 InitialImage to a BMP image as a:System.Drawing.Bitmap, but its not showing up any ideas?
Do I need additional code to get this simple test working? I am using an embedded picture, I assume? I don't want to call the picture from a path.
I'm new to .net programming, but I do have some experience programming. I've used a picture box to make a custom button. It works on the main form, but when I open a dialog form with the same image the transparent areas shows the desktop and not the dialog. Thishappened for images with an alpha channel and also images that used the transparency key. I tried it with a winform instead and the images with an alpha channel worked fine, but the transparency keyed images showed the screen. All
View 3 RepliesI have a truly huge picture (2500 x 3500 pixels), and I need to click on portions of it and record where I clicked. As I need to be VERY accurate, I'd like to zoom in on the picture (8x or maybe 10x) so I can select the correct pixel more easily. If I put the picture in a PictureBox and expand it to 10x its normal size (25000 x 35000) this breaks. So what I need is some way to display a small part of a picture, greatly expanded (and, of course, to be able to change which part).

View 8 RepliesI have VS 2008 and use VB, not C#/C++ or whatever else. I'm trying to make a battleship game, and I've decided to use the only method I can think of to control the grid. A 2D boolean array for position marking. I have the array set up, and the grid set up in the design form, but I can't figure out with all my research how to link them together. I'm writing this program to shake off the rust before school starts again, and for fun. I took VB in school last year, a half year class, so I have a foundation, now I'm self-educating myself above and beyond the class. I've searched for a way to use a picture box array to use the coordinates of the ship to .Visible=True the picture boxes. I've been working on this for 2 days straight with no results. I just need a little nudge in the right direction. The exception I've been getting with my latest concoction of code is NullReferenceException was Unhandled. I think its referring to the fact that I have no idea how to link the picture boxes into the array. Here's my code, and I'll comment where the exception is thrown:

we are having a problem in drag and drop some pictures, so here it is.have pictures put in the tool strip about 10 pictures, then we are to drag and drop it in our workspace made up of a one picture box. when we drag a picture on it, yes it appears, but when we drag another picture, the first picture dropped in the work space is overwritten by the second picture, meaning it was gone.

My plan is to use a database to hold her recipes and create a user interface with search controls and different stuff, this way she will be able to add new recipe's and the program will have a much more modern feel to it.
My question is, I have added a picture box control to the new recipe form and when I click on the picture box I want the program to load "my pictures" and let me select a picture to load into the picture box, like you can on ebay when you are selling stuff, you can select your picture and it loads into the picture box.
As far as starting this off, I can add a double click event on the picture box control, this will trigger whatever code I need to use to load the open file dialog.
