I'm playing with an Access database file. And I want to populate a ListView control with Access data. I'm not going to use the DataGridView control. The following is my Access file, which has a table labeled Employ1 with three fields (Usernames, FNames, LNames) as you see below.

Can someone help me with this code? I just need to make it so there is no limitation on how much data is loaded in the columns or rows, it populates very nicely for smaller comma delimited files , but if I try to load something that goes for example over to AV column, it errors out.I don't care about VIEWING this data, I am just trying to get it into a LISTVIEW so I can access the data for other methods in my code.Index was outside the bounds of the array. I have started the familiarize myself with WPF and have gotten stuck with the ListView I've read a lot of documentation about binding and I can't seem to find how to populate a ListView programmatically. It seems like a lot of work to create the binding and classes, etc, just to fill a ListView.
1. If you want to populate a ListView with data that a user has inputted, is the correct way in WPF to populate the ListView with binded data?

I've run it in debug, and the correct values are in the correct subitems. But for some reason, when the ListViewItem is added to the ListView, the subitems get all jumbled.

I understand that ExtractAssociatedIcon gives you the icon of a file, not a folder. So what are my options for this objective? I'm trying to populate an Access Data Table (5 columns) with a Visual Studio front end, but I'm not clear on how to pass the data through the parameters. I have a database that has tables in it. Tables can be added to this databse programatically as well as the data that needs to be in those tables.I need to be able to query that database to get what tables are in it, place the names of those tables into a listbox so that when a user clicks on the name of the table, It will update a DataGridview with the data that is in that table in the database.I assume that you would need to build a dataset at runtime based off of what tables are in the DB, but i have no idea how to do this.
View 2 RepliesI have a field in an access database with decimals in it. I am using ADO to read in the data and are trying to assign it to a textbox in a form. This works fine when its a whole number. But it doesnt seem to work when its a decimal for some reason.
I have declared the variable i have assigned the access field to as a double, but when i set up a test textbox which i point the variable at and times it by 1000, it doesnt work. Works perfectly when i change the access field entry to a whole number though.
This sounds like im not using the right syntax or something.
I have 3 forms, one frmMain - main form, second is frmUserType- childform, and the last frmCreateUserType. In the main form I have a menu item to open my frmUserType, In this form I have a button to open another form which is my frmCreateUserType, In this form I have a button to add records then update the listview in frmUserType. The problem is the listview will not access with my add button control in frmCreateUserType. I tried not to used mdiparent declaration for my frmMain and frmUserType as children and it works, so meaning that the problem is showing my frmUserType as childform?I am using vb.net 2008
