Sep 19, 2009I am building a POS app with a barcode scanner that auto-return( = pressing keyboard's enter key) after each scan. I need to handle this event by processing the scanned barcode against my items database table. I am using the scanner in keyboard wedge mode so I selected a textbox control to collect the scanned barcode, clear cache and ready to collect another barcode data from scanner. I have tried all the changed events I know on text boxes but I dont get the desired result, I cant clear cache and my cusor wont remain in the text box! I have used the keypress, keydown, textChanged and Enter methods, in most cases I got only the first digit in the barcode.

Aug 24, 2010I have a small project that requires me to have a font dialog, a color dialog and a print dialog. It has four text boxes that are formatted based on the font from the dialog and the color from the other dialog. I am to print it all out with the same font and color. I have easily put the font in the right place and have the rest of the print set up, but the DrawString wants Brushes.<color> for it's color. How do I make it the same color as in the text boxes? I am not trying to get you to do my HW for me, but everything I see online is the brushes or shapes... if you could suggest something to look into that would be great, but I doubt my grade would be much affected by my printing everything with Brushes.Black like everyone else in the world seems to be doing...

However, it is a requirement of the project I am working that users should not be able to use hot keys, especially print screen, ctrl P, ctrl C, and ctrl V. There are no other controls on my form, so how can stop users using these keys, but only in this browser? Further, my asp.net page uses an iframe tag to show a word document, and again, I need to stop them from copying and pasting from the word document into another word document through the browser. Millspaugh). but this one is making my head want to explode. please point me in the right direction with this.
Heres the problem. The company has instituted a bonus program to give its employees an incentive to sell more. For every dollar the store makes in a four-week period, the employees receive 2 percent of sales. The amount of bonus each employee receives is based upon the percentage of hours he or she worked during the bonus period (a total of 160 hours). The Calculate button will determine the bonus earned by this employee, and the Clear button will clear only the name, hours-worked, and bonus amount fields. A Print button allows the user to print the form. Do not allow missing or bad input data to cancel the program; instead display a message to the user.

Dec 14, 2011My instructor told us how to print documents and how to use databases. What the instructor did not mention is how to print or print a preview of records within a DatabaseDataSet. The book "Programming in Visual Basic 2010" does not explain how to print or do a print preview of Database Source records from within a form. The only thing I was told was to test the print document first before you try to do a print preview. Within a form I used a DataGridView to add, delete, and update the database. So now all I need to do is figure out how to print the updated records from the DataGridView and how to print a preview of the records within the DataGridView. So I hope my question is clear enough to give me assistance on how I can perform these two actions. Thanks this would be a great help, and since the class is online we can get assistance from any sources that we have.
