I have 3 combo boxes full of data. I have an access database with a table and 3 fields. I am using the following code to insert the data from the combo boces into each field of the database. The program runs and I get no errors but the data is not going into the table.

I have been trying for a month to get a row added to an Access database and can not do it. I have the databindings all set and can select different records, but can not add a new one. I have tried BindingSource.AddNew.row() but can't figure out how to add data to the new row, nor does it show in the database.
I have tried

But that doesn't do anything at all. No data added, no errors. I have tried updating a datagrid to be told it can't be updated when bound. I look on google and nothing seems to relate to adding data to an access database when bound to the project through the datasource wizard.

View 1 RepliesI'm creating an application that adds and deletes records from a microsoft access database. The language I'm using is VB2008. I am importing the database through a wizard. I can add records and delete records, but I cannot delete a newly added record without closing the form first. When i reopen the form, I can delete the record. Here is how I have my database setup:

how to do it, but the tutorial is not applicable on the program that I wish to do. The tutorial tells you to add 4 navigation buttons so that you can navigate the database(first, last, back, and forward). Then an update and delete button. But if this is what I will do, it would take 10 years to navigate the database and update a record. Now, what I want to do is just for the user to input a unique ID and click search button(which I have already done). Then the update would be easier. How can I update or delete a record using this method?

i connected vb.net to my access database by just clicking on "add new data source">>"new connection">>"microsoft access database file" and just continue..tested connection and done.
you can see in the screenshot of my form, by default the left side textboxes are disabled but they're enabled if the user checks the checkboxes and disabled again if unchecked.
assuming that the textbox is already enabled and i want to enter a value in the Brewed Coffee area of the form...for example 5. when i click on my Submit button the value of that particular record in the database will be updated, so in my table the value of the quantity field in Brewed Coffee will be 5.
another thing is that how can i see a particular value on a label or textbox from my database like on the Prices area. in my database if a product's price is 80 then it should show a 80 in the label. the values of the prices from the screesnshot of the form are not the ones on the database xD i just typed them in.
My program runs with no errors, but the actual .accdb file does not reflect changes when I make them in the running program. Also when I fill in the text boxes and click the "Add New Item" Button, the "ID" text box displays a -1. "ID" is the primary key in my Access Database.

Its supposed to take records from 3 different tables in Access to 3 different tables in MySQL. The first table is "Orders" and it sorts the ones to pull to the dataset, taxDS, by "Where Status = 'Waiting Payment' OR 'Cancelled'". Then the second table pulls its info(this is where i'm having trouble) by the "Control_Number" in the "Orders" table, so basically if the control number isnt already in the dataset its not going to pull the data into the new table "FNF Taxes".

I've been working on a program that generates a batch file, then when you press a button, it executes that batch file. There are multiple batch files attached to each item in the list box.

The only thing that it does when I press the button, is starts the batch file, then goes to function searchtitle, which executes the batch file again when it finds out it didn't work properly.The button text doesn't change, none of the items are being added to my first list box, and I can't do anything to the window after pressing the button. It constantly opens the batch file every 5 seconds or so.
I used the wizard to create a datagridview and then binded a grid to an access table.Data show up fine..But I can't dete records via the bindingnavigator.Hit the delete button then hit the save button ?Data does not get updated in the backend database.My properties are set to true for adding and deleting.
