We had our Crystal Reports report sheets in 2008 working and when we moved to 2010, some of them which their datasources were binded to dataset and datatables are not working.
View 2 RepliesI created a program that I am testing for my company. The program works fine except when I try to print the report, I get an error. The Print feature works fine in the debugger on my computer, but when I publish the application and install it on another machine, then they cannot view/print. In fact, it will not even open the Print Form with the Crystal Reports Viewer.
I have an input Form where you add data to the database. When you hit the "Print Button", it is supposed to open another form with the Crystal Reports Viewer where you can view/print the data. I get the error right when I hit the button and the form won't open. Like I said, it works perfect in the debugger on my computer.
Here is the error - Unhandled Exception has occurred in your application. Could not load file or assembly 'CrystalDecsisons.Windows.Forms, VERSION=10.5.3700.0 CULTURE=Neutral PublicKeyToken = 62fbea5521e1304 or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.
I recently did an upgrade on my computer.I went from Visual Studio 2008 to Visual Studio 2010.I also have Crystal reports 2008 installed. Everything seemed to be working fine for several weeks until Crystal Reports just stopped working.When I open crystal reports now it locks up.Crystal Reports opens up and goes to the start page but the hour glass never goes away and you cant do anything with the program.The screen just seems to lock up and the only way to exit the program is to end task.
Ive tried repairing the installation which didnt work and then I completely uninstalled crystal reports then did a fresh install which didnt work.You can also create a crystal reports with Visual Studio but before doing so you have to download Crystal Reports for Visual Studio for 2010.Visual Studio 2007 also had a crystal reports builder which I used for a while but I got to the point where I liked Crystal so much that I just went out and bought the whole program Crystal Reports program.After I installed crystal reports I could no longer create reports through visual studio 2007 interface,I had to create my reports indepently with crystal reports.That was fine with me because you had a much richer user interface with the full version.

I understand how the class modifiers work like public, private, protected, friend and protect friend. They are pretty straight forward. However my question is, if I have a class is marked as friend, what should the properties and methods be marked as? Friend or public? Does it matter? I just want my classes at the lowest exposure level that will let my program work properly and that is friend. If I understand correctly, the public properties of a friend class are available to all members of the assembly. Wouldn't that be the same access level if the properties were all friend properties?The reason that I ask is that using the autocomplete feature to make new properties (type property and hit tab) it creates the new properties with the public attribute.

For example, if I have a simple form with only one datagridview and one button, grid was sorted on column 1, then I press the button to randomly change data in column 2, then use column 2 to sort, the display order is not correct, but after the button click, if I click on a cell, the grid will re-sort by itself, and get the right list. I know DataGridView is not for Editing data...

I am creating reports in Crystal Reports that is integrated within Visual Studio 2008, and I noticed that some of the features are disabled. One is the ability to link tables with a Right Outer Join or Full Outer Join. I also cannot "Show SQL Query" in Crystal Reports. Is this something I can enable or do I have to purchase or upgrade?

View 2 RepliesBasically, I am looking for a method on how to preview reports from a datagrid or it can be from the access database which populates the data to the datagrid (then displays this in the datagridview) in vb.net vs 2010.I believe there are two methods using the ReportViewer or using Crystal Reports, but so far, I have no idea how to get them to work. The first idea would be favourable - using the data from a datagridview (which may of already been sorted, filter etc) and be able to produce a report on that.

Both ExecuteNonQuery() actions yields the exception message {"Syntax error in field definition."}The error message does not happen with the first if the boolean column is not there (I tried Tes/No as a definition - but that also failed.The second query to modify the ID column from autonumber to integer I assume fails because it is a Primary KeyHas?

I have a procedure that sets a datatable variable called dtP equal to prpParametersTable at the beginning of the procedure. I then add three new columns to dtP.Here is my problem. When I add the three new columns to dtP my original table prpParametersTable also gets those columns added to it, why? I only want to add the three columns to dtP and not prpParametersTable.
