I'm running into random instances where it looks like another client might be modifying (by setting) the value of GetSetDateTime DURING the first client's run through of WhateverMethod(). This is alarming to me and I've been trying to figure out if that's a possibility.
I am writing a control application for an inteface card. The complicated work of initialising communication with the card is written and working fine. However, my problem is to update the text in a dialog label on the communication interface form from a module that contains all the coding for accessing the inteface card. From the module, the interface dll returns data that describes some typical connection errors and the module then calls on Public Subs in the form to display error messages; for example:This is the Public Sub in the Module that initiates communication with the interface card:

Now when I run the code, the msgbox shows the current text and then the new text. BUT the actual text in the StatusBar remains unchanged.
I have a VB .net application which works fine on a 32 bit systems. We tried using it on a 64bit Windows 7 system but it failed. So I set up an environment in a VM (windows 7 64bit VS 2005 SP1 all updated) and started debugging there. When a function from module is called the result is saved in a variable also from module. But the problem is the variable is not declared.

I have a Excel - VBA problem that I can't seeem to get around. I have written some code to search through excel sheets and return the values it finds. The code is written in a module, and when I run it by clicking the play button at the top of the VB editor it works perfectly.
However I have noticed that I need to link it to a button (on_Click) in sheet1, I have tried copying the code into the button sub, it throws up an error: "Method 'Range' of Object '_Worksheet' Failed" When it gets to the 'UpCount' line. This piece of code steps across a worksheet and when a "y" is found it copies the values form a cell at the top of the worksheet (which uses the upcount formula as the cell to be copied changes), and then it also copies some values to the right of the cell containing the "y" value.This code all worked fine when it was ran from the module2 window using the play button a tthe top of the VB editor page, it is just now it is attached to the commandbutton I am experiancing problems!

I understand how the class modifiers work like public, private, protected, friend and protect friend. They are pretty straight forward. However my question is, if I have a class is marked as friend, what should the properties and methods be marked as? Friend or public? Does it matter? I just want my classes at the lowest exposure level that will let my program work properly and that is friend. If I understand correctly, the public properties of a friend class are available to all members of the assembly. Wouldn't that be the same access level if the properties were all friend properties?The reason that I ask is that using the autocomplete feature to make new properties (type property and hit tab) it creates the new properties with the public attribute.

View 1 RepliesI need to be able to start with Form1, move to LoginForm, then back to Form1 taking 2 variables and the "values" they have in the LoginForm back to Form1 and using the variables. I start with the main form (Form1) and have the user enter some information. Once they click OK I have the LoginForm open. After they enter their credentials I will check to make sure they are legal users, then go back to Form1 (here is where I need to take the Username and Password with me) to log onto a server using the same credentails from the login form.
