I have a situation where I have several VB.NET Modules in the same Logical-Module of a large application. I would like the update function of each module to be public, but I would like users to be forced to qualify the function call with the module name.
ModuleName.Update()
instead of
Update()
Is this possible?

I'm running into random instances where it looks like another client might be modifying (by setting) the value of GetSetDateTime DURING the first client's run through of WhateverMethod(). This is alarming to me and I've been trying to figure out if that's a possibility.
I am writing a control application for an inteface card. The complicated work of initialising communication with the card is written and working fine. However, my problem is to update the text in a dialog label on the communication interface form from a module that contains all the coding for accessing the inteface card. From the module, the interface dll returns data that describes some typical connection errors and the module then calls on Public Subs in the form to display error messages; for example:This is the Public Sub in the Module that initiates communication with the interface card:

What happens when these Public subs are called from the module is that the MSgBoxes I made to test the routine show up but the label text doesn't appear.I've tried; Refresh, on the label and the form without success...

I have a VB .net application which works fine on a 32 bit systems. We tried using it on a 64bit Windows 7 system but it failed. So I set up an environment in a VM (windows 7 64bit VS 2005 SP1 all updated) and started debugging there. The problem I come across is, I have a module (Public variables and function declarations from a driver provider FTDI). When a function from module is called the result is saved in a variable also from module. But the problem is the variable is not declared.

Right what i want to do is when i click my button it goes to the timer3.tick.. i then want it to use the public function on the listbox's.
I have an 100 aspx files with one module file for code. All these aspx files have the same backend function, so i created on public module for all these files to access. These files are in the same folder. But for some reason the aspx files cannot access the function from that module.

I have a console application consisting of two modules. One module named "quote" is the main module for the application. Another module named "common" contains commonly used functions and subroutines that are shared between multiple applications.
In the "common" module is a function named "quote". If I attempt to call the "quote" function from the module named "quote", then I get the following error: Error 1 'quote' is a type and cannot be used as an expression. However, if I copy the quote function from the "common" module to the "quote" module, then I no longer receive this error.
There shouldn't be an issue with calling a function that happens to have the same name as a module, but only when that function is located in a different module.

View 1 Repliesi started with 1 solution, 1 project a usual. Then i did it again, different project. Then, i wanted to have the 2 projects in 1 solution - so i copyed the project folder from solution 2 into the folder of solution 1 and added as existing project the project 2. So far so good.
Now i have a module with some public functions in project 2, that i want to use in project 1 as well. So i added to the solution a class module (some classes i want to share also) and i moved the module, (that i want to commonly use) into this class library. But it seems wrong - my application does not find the function again.
My application has a total of 1 form. I have several modules, one of which is a module that handles a background worker dynamically. But what I need to be able to do is update a textbox from the background worker thread. Again, this code is contained within a module, not directly on the main form, so I am totally clueless as to how to make a reference to it. View 4 RepliesI'm at a complete loss here, its probably me being stupid and missing something simple but i don't appear to be able to update a testbox (CreditInfo) on Form1 from a module (SerialData). It doesn't give any errors, it just doesn't work. If i put a Button on Form1 to update the testbox(CreditInfo) it works... however i need it to be automatic.. Dave
