Putting Forward A Solution To Replace Typed Datasets?

A project I am currently employed with will have some time soon to improve and specialise a product that is currently in use. We may have about 4 man weeks spare in which we could replace the typed datasets that are in use.
The project is currently written in Vb.Net and we will definitely not have time to replace this code with C#.Net, although we would like to.
My question is what would you suggest as a replacement for the typed datasets.
I have currently suggested nHibernate as I have worked with Hibernate before and loved it.
Linq to SQL has been discounted.

I have a DB application that I've created using the Datasources wizard. A particular insert requires that two inserts must be done at the same time meaning that it has got to use transaction. how to use transaction in this situation.Only performance counts!

I just read this post url...Post #2 by jmc states indicates the use of Entity Framework instead of typed datasets.when jmc says something I usually pay attention. I have a large app that I've been converting from VB6 to .Net and I've used mainly typed datasets.It's a single user app that uses an Access database. I'm have no problems retrieving the data from a table or multiple tables and I'm very happy with its preformance.Is it worth scapping what I've done and learn how to use Entity Framework? I should add that I'm near the end of my programming career not the beginning.

In a typical session with the program I'm writing, the user needs to be able to access the data in 1 to 500 (maybe) tables (but always only one table at a time). Up to now I've been creating these single table datasets dynamically, as and when required.I've now come across the distinction between typed and untyped datasets (where typed seems to be the recommended option). It seems, though, that typed datasets are created at design time only and not dynamically. Is this correct? Are all of my dynamically created datasets therefore untyped?

I am using VB 2008 & Access 2007 for windows forms application having typed datasets while creating connection to DB vb asks to store connection string so i did it now that i want to know where is the actual path of file where these connection strings are stored. b'cas after runnig a macro in Access Database i lost all these connections from Data Source Configuration Wizard Combo Box & also i am anable to create a new connection to Databases.I have tried to reinstall the entire Visual Studio couple of times .

I have the problem that the DataGridView has obviously a shortcut key for SHIFT + SPACE which seems to select the row.What I would like to have is that pressing SHIFT + SPACE simply adds a space character to the current cursor position within the current cell (like for example in notepad)

Till yesterday I was working fine with my Project.I din install anything new, am not trying to open my solution file with a different version also.Today when i tried opening my solution, it was saying

I am working on a custom framework above the .NET framework, and some instructions are not written / called at the good places.
For example, a postback is done on the same page. Then, a Response.redirect occurs right within the page_load; but at this point, the new values of the controls of the page are not yet handled, so they get lost...
Therefore, I wanted to know whether it was possible to force the pagelife_cycle to go forward before the call to response.redirect, so that I can get the right values.
I can't just make that call in another function, because the page I am working on is called by many web applications (about 1-2k), and it would completely change their behaviour, which is not acceptable!

I'm having trouble coding some new items into a program of mine. The program loops through you Inbox looking for emails that are UNREAD and have a certain subject line. The subject line in this case, is going to search for: "FAX TO: ###########" (actually, it just searches for FAX TO). Next step, I need the selected email to be FORWARDED to the fax number in the subject line - including attachments. In my code - I've already got the message selected - but I can't figure out how to programmatically forward it? I need explicit code help with the following:
1) Check to make sure there are 10 digits in the original subject line. If not - bail out and ignore that message.
2) Trim the subject line and save the phone number to a string
3) Forward the message (plus attachments) to the [URL]
I'm assuming I'll need to create a new Outlook.MailItem, but I'm not sure if I need to. Is there just some code I'm missing so I don't have to COPY the contents of the current MailItem to a new one.

The file reads in parameters and two of the parameters used to be in Date Format YYYYMMDD but will now permanently be in format YYYY-MM-DD. This change, I believe, is stopping the import of the file from working. I would like to replace the new format YYYY-MM-DD back to YYYYMMDD in the code. If possible I'd also like to see some output so I know that the old format has been replaced with the new format. The code is below. I added the two rows with .replace code in green in expecting that to be enough but it is still not working.

I want to make application which will go back and go forward on internet browser in program.
I want: When I will click button1 then internet browser go back and go forward and so on all time. Click(button1) --> GoBack Browser - here must be break - 15 seconds --> GoForward Browser --> do it all again and again.

I'm trying to set up a WebBrowser control so that it will respond to the user pressing the mouse's Forward or Back buttons and navigate accordingly, regardless of where the cursor is located in the form. The WebBrowser control doesn't have any click event handlers, and I couldn't add one with AddHandler, so I'm not sure what to try. Searching here, I read about GetAsyncKeyState which can be used to get the status of the mousebuttons, but I don't know how I would use this to code an event handler for these buttons.

How could I make it where I could accurately go forward and backward? Whenever you press back once, then back again, it takes you to the page you started with. So how do you make it where it can go back as many pages as there are and then tell if your a the highest or last page when going forward?

I'm working on a timekeeping application in Visual Basic 2008 and am having trouble formatting a timespan for display. Here's how I want to the information:If a positive number my Label will be: lblTimespan.txt will show as "12 Hours And 15 Minutes" This works fine.If its a negative number I want to display it as "(12 Hours And 15 Minutes)'[ in red. I am trying to think of a regex replace to replace double quotes with nothing. Example:
hello("hi there") would become hello(hi there)
"hi" would become hi
"example "3" would become example "3
-edit Maybe an easier way to explain this is, replace all " that do not have a backslash before them.
