Reading PDF/DOCs From A Folder And Printing Them?

I want to be able to code a small system that reads a set directory, for new PDF or Word DOC file types.
Then i want to print them.

that i can use MS Word automation to print the document, but i would like the application to read the folder constantly in real time and then print what ever is 'new' in the folder.
Would there be any advantage to code my own print driver?

I've got a a simple database setup with a parent child relationship.Imagine one expense report can have many line items associated with it.Now inside of this line items table I have a column that stores the link / pathof an attachment on our local storage server. Some example values could be:

I have several docs in a folder in iPads dir (Help Files). When the user selects help it shows a dialog which has a listbox, richtextbox, and three buttons ( open, close, update < to launch the updater)

I am about to develop a software (VB .Net) that generates and reads barcodes. The backend db is sql server. 1. I have a major id and sub ids. For example I have major ID A, and subgroups A0, A1, An. Also I could have more detailed subgroups like A01, A02 and so on. I need to generate and print these barcodes from my VB application. 2. The handheld scanner is used to read the generated barcodes and pull their data and show them on the screen.

I want a program where the user can browse to a particular folder, select it, then the program will print all .xls files within that folder. More specifically I want it print on the sheet named Turn-In within the .xls file. Is this even possible, seems like it should be.

I would like to read the NT Security (Read, Write, List, Inherited, blah blah blah) permissions from a file. I already have some code, and can get the names and SIDs, but can�t seem to figure out the actual access bits. I have found how to SET them, but not read.

I'm trying to return a integer / count of the ammount of files in the directory and sub directories in the 'Windows' folder, I need to be able to do this as fast as possible (no lag) and tell when it's done, hope I explained this right.

I have a folder that contains multiple word documents. I need to monitor this folder for any changes in these word documents. I am facing the following problems.
File system watcher never reports the exact name of file being changed. For example for file abc.doc, it reports "~$abc.doc is changed" on first save.For all subsequent saves to that file, OnChanged event in the following code is not called. When I changed the filter to watcher.Filter = ".", I found that for subsequent saves, it reports "~WRL0001.tmp is changed".
So the bottom line is that I never know the exact name of the file changed.[code]...

I've been searching the web in general (and this forum specifically) for information on setting up Help documentation on a project - but the 'help' in the search just seems to give too much.I've never set up help documentation and was wondering if there is a good primer anywhere on the web or in a book - I've looked through VB books and none cover this topic also the I've so far been unable to absorb the official MS docs.

On a button click i'm reading it again, because the contence of the text doc may have been updated, what I want to do is show in one textbox the actual file and in another one just what is new. How can I compare them?

Is it possible to build a search engine to use on a DVD that contains Word documents, text documents, etc.? Say I wanted to find all documents with the name "James" in them. In the search box I would type "James", and it would return the results of everywhere James is found. Or suppose I wanted to find all Land Deeds where James is found, is that possible? All search engine examples that I have seen on VB Help has to do with databases, and I guess to an extent, my DVD would be the database.

I know there is a lot of forums out there regarding this, but I haven't been able to find what I need and I am somewhat new to this. I would like the simple openfiledialog code button click to attach a word document or PDF and upload it to a SQL server table to be saved. I would like to use my current datasets and controls without creating another SQL query within my project as I have seen in other forums, unless that is the only method. I know that the data needs to be saved as an image type with the file name and extension but I just need the code for this. I would then like to download the doc or pdf to view it within a form.

This is the MSDN example for handling the BeginReceive callback.BeginReceive is called over and over until no more data is available, i.e. EndReceive returns 0. However I am finding that the callback is only fired when there is data available.
I'm guessing that the example is simply wrong or refers to expected behaviour in a previous version of .NET, although it says it is for 3.5.So how do I ensure I have received all of the available data?

I am using VB 2008 & Access Databases for creating WinForm Applications. Also i am using Crystal Reports for Report solution. my question is How do i created reports such a way that they can be printed in faster Ascii Format on any DotMatrix printer. The default true type fonts make printing very slower.
I tried to use "Draft 10 cpi" font which come to available me after i installed a correct driver for my Epson printer. which also helped me overcome this problem. however it wont be the scenario with all my clients i.e. they might have different printers having different Make with different drivers installed. i have tried to open such project on there PC but the printing wont come in Draft instead the fonts get expanded too much & the print wont come right.

I basically have an application that generates reports in a .html file, I use a .html file for the ease of making tables and formatting text.Now I would like to introduce a way of printing the reports from my program. Because I use a .html file, the formatting would not the correct if I was to print it directly from my application (as far as I know). For this reason, I would like to print it just like my web browser would have in order to keep the tabular data intact and the text formatting.

I'm creating an application which has an scheduler to print and it checks if there is a pending job on the print queue before it prints the next file. I use a timer which checks if there is any file to be printed on my database. Example, the timer ticks and selected 10 files to be printed, it should print the 10 files 1 at a time, if there's no print queue, that's the only time the next file should print. I think another timer is required which will keeps on checking if print queue is done. How will i do this?

I am setting up printing (to a printer or file) in my application, and it doesn't seem to print out any new lines that I specify. Here's some of my printing

When I print the output to a PDF file using PDFCreator, it stacks all of the letters onto each other rather than creating new lines at the places I've specified. I've also tried using vbNewLine instead of vbCrLf, but I haven't had any luck. I searched the web for this but couldn't find anything about it.

I am using Visual Studio 2008 Setup project. I need to copy one folder and the sub folders into the program files but when I tried to copy or add the folder to "Application Folder" in File System editor, I am able to add only files and not folders.
