RegEx - Extract Fields And Data Types From SQL Statement
Jul 9, 2009
I have this sql statement:
CREATE TABLE [dbo].[User]( [UserId] [int] IDENTITY(1,1) NOT NULL,
[FirstName] [varchar](50) COLLATE SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CI_AS NOT NULL, [MiddleName]
[varchar](50) COLLATE SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CI_A
What I want is regex code which I can use to get all fields and data type. So will return something like that:
FirstName varchar
MiddleName varchar
The sql statement will always have this format. I am using .Net to run this regex
I am trying to extract data from a string using Regex in VB.net This is my string CN=firstname lastname/OU=orgunit/O=org;shortname I am basically trying to retrieve firstname lastname (together),orgunit, org and shortname
I am looking to define data types by fields in SQL Server 2005. My source is an Excel spreadsheet and I cannot define by columns because each row requires a set of definitions applied to each field in that row. Ex, row 1 requires field1 to be CHAR while in row 2 field 1 needs to be DATE.
I have a table that has a "date" column and an "amount" column. I also have a form with two DateTimePickers ("dtp1" and "dtp2"), a button and a label. The label should show the total amount calculated from the rows whose "date" value is between the dates picked by the user with the DateTimePicker controls.
I keep getting an error with my SQL statement, and I don't know what to try. My code is as follows:
Private Sub getData(ByRef total As Double) Dim connection As OleDbConnection connection = New OleDbConnection("Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0;Data Source=C:\proyectogestion.mdb")
I have a table which contains a list of products for a company. They input data about how much stock they have and also the level at which they want to be reminded that they need to order new stock.
[Code]...
I want to list all the true results in a form which the user is then able to navigate through. What would be the best way to go about doing this?
Is it possible to dynamically change the type of the object in a class?say, I have a Filter class, that specifies a filtering condition for a list of objects of a specific ObjType
Public Class PropertyFilter Public Property ObjectType as MyObjectsTypeEnum Public Property MainObjectProperty As ??? OBJECT
I learn best by example, and I tried piecing it together by comparing the regex match above, to a URL in between hreft" and </a> - but I couldnt do it. Ive been working on this project for a while, and im getting tired.
I am creating a windows application using VB.Net and this application will take a SQl create .sql file as a parameter and will return all fields and their data types inside in a list or array.
Example:
USE [MyDB] GO /****** Object: Table [dbo].[User] Script Date: 07/07/2009 10:16:48 ******/ SET ANSI_NULLS ON GO
[code]....
Should Return:
UserId int, FirstName string, MiddleName string
I want to do this by any way, pure vb.net code or using RegEx.
How would I use Regex to extract the body from a html doc, taking into account that the html and body tags might be in uppercase, lowercase or might not exist?
I am parsing a file which contains customer address in the following 2 formats:
Format #1 12345 Melrose Place New York NY USA 12987
[Code]...
I need to put the data into Address, City, State and Zip fields. I am able to parse and put the data (specifically line 2) in the fields for format #1 but am having issues doing the same for format # 2 because format # 2 doesn't have USA as a reference point.
I have a project that uses regex, and while matching strings and regex syntax is working well [If rx.IsMatch(test) Then], i'd like to know (if any) a way to use regex to extract all instances of a pattern.
I was able to extract href value of anchors in an html string. Now, what I want to achieve is extract the href value and replace this value with a new GUID. I need to return both the replaced html string and list of extracted href value and it's corresponding GUID.
My existing code is like: Dim sPattern As String = "<a[^>]*hrefs*=s*((""(?<URL>[^""]*)"")|('(?<URL>[^']*)')|(?<URL>[^s]* ))"
.net framework 2 vs 2008?I need to extract a string from website. Loading a site in a big string works perfect. Im searching on google and here and I come to conclusion that regex is the easiest way to go. So...How to extract a string from one big string between known words using regex?reader string holds next data to use with regex:
I have been stumped on this for about 3 weeks now. In the beginning me and my partner have been trying to hit this at the internal angle. only problem is different html tables are constructed different than others. We are needing to extract from multiple pages and sites so we know that Regex will be the best solution. We can use the same script for everything. This is my first time working with Regex, I got it actually extracting the very first ip[proxy]. I have no idea why it isn't extracting every one on the page. I also have to add the . in between each each octave of the ip. That is weird because I have it in the Regexpession to find the .'s.What I'm Needing is for this to basically scan the whole page and grab all the ipsorts and add them to a listbox. Here is my
Dim request As HttpWebRequest = Nothing Dim response As HttpWebResponse = Nothing Try
I am trying to extract everything between the body part as I am building a forum crawler and since all the user posts are between the <body></body> I have chosen to experiment with Regex. So far I have coded the following but sort of stuck on how to output the result say in a textbox? Also I am not sure if the body part of the regex is correct.
Dim URL As String = Textbox1.Text Dim request As System.Net.HttpWebRequest = System.Net.HttpWebRequest.Create("URL") Dim response As System.Net.HttpWebResponse = request.GetResponse Dim streamReader As System.IO.StreamReader = New System.IO.StreamReader(response.GetResponseStream()) [Code] .....
Has anyone created a regex that matches each of the cell references in a given Excel formula? I'm trying to extract a list of cell references into an ArrayList from a provided Excel formula. Ideally, the ArrayList would also preserve any cross-tab or cross-workbook reference information. The key is for the regex to be compatible with any potential Excel formula, as the formula will change with each use. This seems to capture cross-workbook references:
Still getting to grips with regex and have seen a few samples about that give me most of what I need so asking for opinion on this. I need to extract x words from a single line, so the regex could use w+ to get characters, however my line may contain anything inside the word like:
what i am trying to do is extract information beween two tags in some html from the source of a website. The contents of the text between the two tags will always be different. the code i currently have is;
This may take some explaining but the concept is pretty simple. A user will select a file which contains data that they wish to extract from, so keeping it simple they pick a file like so:
[Code]....
So, I need to show the user the file, allow them to select a line to match and/or extract from. So they select the first line ready for a match, they then select a word/s to mark as a constant for matching, so in this case it would be: MyGroup A simple version for text match would be like "MyGroup *" Now, I need to convert this to regex dynamically (I assume its the best method), its not a one off, the data that is selected is all open and up to user selection. There could be multiple selections and multiple extractions on the same line!
I'm trying to assign the pattern regex looks for using an if statement like below. Then I use match to test, returning t/f from match.success. The patterns work fine, and finds what i am looking for in a test data set. The problem comes when I try to assign a pattern to test for via an if statement (assigned to SearchRegexString below) and then try to match using the appropriate object. so basically
SearchRegexString = "TestStringA"Object = new regex (pattern, options)object.match(string).success
[Code]...
doesn't work. match.success always returns false when the if then construct is used even if the phrase exists in the string. Is this a compiler issue, beyond the limits of Regex? what is going on?
I'm trying to translate some C# LINQ code into VB.NET and am stuck on how to declare an anonymous type in VB.NET.[code]How do you translate C#'s new { ... } syntax into VB.NET?
I've just been burned again by the fact that there is no compiler warning when you fail to return a result in a Function that returns a Value type. I wrote the function:
Public Function CompareTo(ByVal other As MessageIndex) As Integer Implements System.IComparable(Of MessageIndex).CompareTo Me._messageIndex.CompareTo(other._messageIndex) End Function
which performs the CompareTo Function for two integers, then throws the result away and returns 0, because I forgot to either assign a value to CompareTo, or use Return, and that isn't flagged by the compiler because it's valid VB for a Value type.
I happen never to use "FunctionName = ReturnValue" because it hides information from maintenance programmers and also because I think it's insane .
Is there any way I can get the compiler to issue a warning whenever my Functions are missing a Return, whether it's a Value type or not?
I have an SQL statement which i need to code in vb:
CODE:
Notice the fields prodno1 and prodno2 in the table structure.. this is part of a number of sql statements i need to run and put inside a loop. my problem is i want to automatically use this same code such that on the next loop, this sql statement is going to be:
CODE:
Note that in this "2nd loop"
- the table name is now r3 from r2 in the first SQL statement - there are now prodno1, prodno2 and prodno3 instead of just prodno1 and prodno2 - in the WHERE clause, the p.prodNo becomes p.prodNo2
And so on and so forth.. so for the 3rd loop
- there's going to be r4 - there's going to be prodno4 - in the WHERE clause i will use p.prodNo3
