I would like to have a only part of a string... I have a string[URL] and i want only the part thats past the last / so i would actualy get only "file.part4.rar"I know that this can be done through Regex, But I have never used that, and I read the documentation on it, but I do not understand the part of...
Dim rx As New Regex("^-?d+(.d{2})?$")
What dose each of those characters do and how dose it effect the output...
blah blah blah Version V3.5/7(030114) blah blah blah blah
I'd like to parse out the Version V3.5/7(030114) part using a Regex or Substring, but not sure how. The surrounding text could be dynamic in length and the 6 numbers between the parenthesis could be a different length as well (maybe 4).
I have to match string like "DAY1","DAY2","DAY3"....."DAY31" with regex in vb.net. I tried something like this - ^?DAY(0[1-9]|[12][0-9]|3[01])$ but it did not work.
The pattern should have succesfull match if the source string is either DAY1 or DAY2 or DAY3 to DAY31 like so.
I have a small program that is used for managing media libraries for some software front-ends. Basically, it reads in the files of a directory and, one-by-one, creates a new directory by each file name and moves the respective file into the new folder.Everything works well, but I am wanting to extend the functionality a bit.I would like to include multi-part file detection so that titles that are named as such:
movie-disc1.avi
movie-disc2.avi
would be moved into a single folder named movie. The files would not be renamed. As of now, I simply have an option that will allow the user to ignore certain files that match a regex pattern:
Dim m As Match = Regex.Match(IO.Path.GetFileName(filePath), "(.*?)([ _.-]*(?:cd|dvd|p(?:ar)?t|dis[ck]|d)[ _.-]*[0-9]+)(.*?)(.[^.]+)$")
I noticed that in order for the e-mail address to validate, I need to put in at least 3 characters before the @ symbol. Is this a requirement? What if I just want to have an e-mail address with 1 or 2 characters before the @ symbol?
Using VB.NET, Is there a way to do this RegEx call in 1 step... instead of 2-3? I'm trying to find the word "bingo", or whatever is between the START and END words, but then also inside the inner FISH and CAKES words. My final results should be just "bingo".
Dim s1 As String = "START (random string) FISH bingo CAKES (random string) END"

I'm looking for a way to cut out unneeded text from a string. The remains of the string should be "Result: Sucesfull".
Example strings:
[Download Report] 26 october 2009 Result: Succesfull
[Code]....
As you can see the string in my first example contains 3 lines, and the second example contains 5 lines. In my application they differ depending on the situation. I want to cut out all lines, except for the line starting with 'Result:', which I want to display to the user of the application.
