Remoting - Threading Or Running Multiple Servers

after my last post i dove into remoting to try to solve my performance problem in a client-server fashion.
This works very well, but i come across a big problem which i don't seem to get solved.
I made a well known singleton servicetype on the server that retrieve all customers. Whith 1 db connection this works fine. But very often customers and i use in 1 sql instance multiple databases (for each administration a separate db). so the whole purpose of a singleton object is hereby destroys as soon i connect in my class to a different db. Is there some way to overcome this for example threading or running multiple servers (for each db it's own server-application)?

I have to connect same type of remote objects on different destination using .net remoting. For example, I have a database access middle layer on a remote server and local server. But both are same type object. but the remote destination addresses are different. So how to connect it using .NET Remoting?

I don't really know how to code but am pretty good at tweaking. I'm trying to set up a script that I can run to delete a single file, multiple files, a folder or multiple folders on a list of servers.I was thinking that the script could read the files to be deleted from a .txt file and apply the deletion to a list of servers in another .txt file.Example:

Im trying to check multiple services on different servers. The idea is that every time a client clicks on a checkbox for the specific server and press the "check service" button it will check the status on the service and if it's not running it will restart the service and so on for the rest of the servers.[code]

I have 2 servers that produce xml files and store them locally on their hard drives.Im not to sure what would be the best way to make these details viewable from any machine on the same network?I have created a asp.net web page which reads and displays the xml files. It does it fine locally, but would i have to host it on a dedicated web facing server so that it could display information from the 2 different servers on the network?

Running into problems creating objects through reflection and then running them on multiple threads.

When it comes to threading. I've managed to adapt one of JMcIllhinney's backgroundworker codebank examples to somewhat suit my needs, but not completely. I have a main form, and a second form that appears while I'm running through a for loop. It informs the user what is currently happening. I set up a backgroundworker that allowed me to continue to use the main form during the for loop, but the other "status" form was completely frozen, and any labels or graphics were shown as white boxes. I am struggling to figure out how to be able to move/interact with both forms while the loop is running.

One of our products consists of two different services:
- main service that launched at the startup of Wndows
- GUI that launched manualy when needed
GUI is representing data from main service.Main service starts X amount of threads that do some work and gether data.Some minor data and adresses to threads are stored in chache memory, so that GUI will have access to them.Everything works fine in 99% cases, but in some rare cases GUI do not display any data when used on machines with multiple processors (not milti-core). My guess is that it can't access the memory -> probably OS "decided" to run main service on one processor and GUI on another one.Is there any way to access the memory alocated for one processor from the service that runs on another processor?Or is there simple and secure way (same application will be also runing on single processor machines) to specify both services to run on the same processor?

I have created a background worker to go and run a pretty long task that includes creating more threads which will read from a file of urls and crawl each. I tried following it through debugging and found that the background process ends prematurely for no apparent reason. Is there something wrong in the logic of my code that is causing this. [code]Also my main thread runs a forms from where this background is called to run but the main thread is supposed to wait for the background process to end unless the user selects another option from the main form.

When the program starts, it checks for the amount of threads the user wants to use to download files with. The threads are then created. When the user chooses a file to download, the threads begin grabbing the file until it's fully downloaded.The problem is, some threads stall right from the start, & just sit there doing nothing.The global work variable is Sync-Locked, then quickly released by each instance, & to my eyes, there is nothing wrong.They are all instances of the same class, & do the exact same thing, so why is it that some run, & others don't?VB.NET is the programming language. They are looping Background workers.I would really like to know why some run, & others don't.btw... they have quick non-blocking sleeps, as well as blocking sleeps to allow others the chance to run (proprietary non-blocking DLL).So all i'm left to think on is that Microsoft's process queuing has some type of bug going on in there someplace....or is there a way to do multiple looping threads where they're guaranteed to run?

I am writing an automation program that runs 4 test boxes in line with a handler. Im having a problem with running 4 BGWs(back ground workers). The Program is running fine right now but its not running the way it was designed. What i am trying to do is get all 4 BGWs to run in parallel. what its doing right now is running 3 and then when those three are done running it runs the 4th. the crazy part is its not running 1 2 3 then 4 its running 1 2 4 and then 3. Also its not updating my status windows right either.

I have one Private sub that runs in a loop. I want the sub to run multiple times at once. For example the program runs, you press start; you run the program again and press start, again and again... the same program doing the job at once. now i just want one program do to it alone. I'm trying to use ADO to create several tables at once, into MS Access. Is it possible to do multiple statements in the one operation?[code]This fails due to a "Syntax Error in CREATE TABLE statement", although each of the create statements work on their own perfectly. Is there a way of doing this sort of thing? In the past few weeks, to speed up our database freshening process, I've created a couple of extra programs, basically copies of the exe file. The program itself, accesses web pages, images etc and uses threads to do so. The second program uses LIMIT 300,100 and the third LIMIT 600,100, to make sure they don't work on the same records.
Before the last few weeks, one occurrence of the program used to run without problem, from the task scheduler all through the day. Only one occurrence of each exe can run at a time.Since theres now three programs running, .net 2.0, on xp, the program often seems to get stuck and never ends. I have to kill it from task manager.
It runs fine in the IDE I just wonder if there would be any benefit from upgrading to vb.net 2010 ?

I have an application which is running off multiple user desktops (app is in vb.net/vs 2008). The application pulls its data from an SQL 2005 Server (which holds all of the main data tables as well as a bunch of reference tables). So for different projects, the application pulls in data from the main tables... ie, Project ID, Project Cost...and so on.. The data is contained by ID's and when the data is imported into the application, the look up tables are used to convert the ID's to names.. so instead of project ID, the user would see the actual project name. Before the data is written back to the db, it is converted back to ID's ... anyways, there are a bunch of these look up tables, (for vendors, different expenditure codes, projects, sub projects.

I have a sub-procedure which I want to run a different process, depending on what is currently running. I thought the easiest way to do this was by using an ArrayList of each of the campaign details & adding an 'Inuse' field to check to see if the Inuse field is set to 0 or 1. The problem that I have is that when running the process it is all happening at once & the integer hasn't been changed before the next thread kicks in so my threads are running the same campaigns. I tried to avoid the problem by adding a Thread.Sleep(100) delay inbetween starting threads but this led to exactly the same problem.
