Reflection - Running Threading With Reflected Objects?

Running into problems creating objects through reflection and then running them on multiple threads.
I just cannot seem to figure out what I need to here:
For Each WorkerNode As XmlNode In oRunSettings.GetWorkerValues
orkerName = WorkerNode.Attributes(SETTING_NAME_ID).Value
Dim oWorkerType As Type = Type.GetType(String.Format("Worker.{0}", sWorkerName))

It is causing errors at the "AddressOf" because Object does not have a method called that. Do I need to do something with an interface?

I am trying to create an object browser similar to what VS2010 uses for the quick watch window. I can use reflection to iterate through the properties and display their names and values until I get to the point in an object where the property is an object of my own creation and not a system type. I can't seem to find the correct approach to be able to iterate the properties of these "sub objects".
Below is the just of what I am trying to do

I coded a class that scans an object and maps data from a data table into each one of the corresponding properties, it works very well, however I am not able to set the property of one of the child (coplex objects)

I want to set the value for the child object TypeCurrency.TypeCurrencyID thus I set the value of the variable sTargetPropertyName to TypeCurrency.TypeCurrencyID but the application willnot work stating that the property can not be found.

I have created a simple windows forms application. I would like to be able to connect to that running application and view certain properties from a seperate windows form application. In VB6 I would have run the first application and then called GetObject to connect to the instance. Does anybody know how I could do this in .Net. I'm guessing I'd have to use reflection to get a list of applications running and then somehow connect to them but I'm not sure how to do this?

after my last post i dove into remoting to try to solve my performance problem in a client-server fashion.
This works very well, but i come across a big problem which i don't seem to get solved.
I made a well known singleton servicetype on the server that retrieve all customers. Whith 1 db connection this works fine. But very often customers and i use in 1 sql instance multiple databases (for each administration a separate db). so the whole purpose of a singleton object is hereby destroys as soon i connect in my class to a different db. Is there some way to overcome this for example threading or running multiple servers (for each db it's own server-application)?

When it comes to threading. I've managed to adapt one of JMcIllhinney's backgroundworker codebank examples to somewhat suit my needs, but not completely. I have a main form, and a second form that appears while I'm running through a for loop. It informs the user what is currently happening. I set up a backgroundworker that allowed me to continue to use the main form during the for loop, but the other "status" form was completely frozen, and any labels or graphics were shown as white boxes. I am struggling to figure out how to be able to move/interact with both forms while the loop is running.

I have a windows forms application built in VS2005 and migrated to VS2008 that I "inherited" that occasionally will not show some of the objects (i.e. a button or something) when a user runs it. This is sporadic and does not seem to have any notable pattern.Are there any specific types of things I should be looking for that might cause such behavior? I tried looking at available memory and hard disk space issues and that did not seem to have any bearing on the problem.

I am trying to add some scripting to my VB.NET 2010 Windows Forms Application.I have figured out how to compile and execute VB.NET code stored in an external script file from within my app using Microsoft.VisualBasic.VBCodeProvider.CompileAssemblyFromSource and InvokeMember. im using VS2005. and the built-in sql express.when i run my code in debug mode, i can see that the required number of rows are being affected correctly.but when i actually go and see in the table data, the data has not been inserted/updated.i am using sqlcommand. executeNonQuery() to insert/update data.also, i must add that both executeScalar and executeReader are working perfectly.what could be the possible reason for executeNonQuery although showing the number of rows affected but does not actually do it when seen in the table data?int x = cmd.ExecuteScalar(); // X SHOWS 2 OR 3 depending on the number of rows affected.

If i am currently in a cell and have changed the value of it, but have not exited the cell or pressed enter the change is not reflected in the database. When I am loading an Assembly dynamically, then calling a method from it, I appear to be getting the method from Assembly executing before the code in the method that is calling it.It does not appear to be executing in a Serial manner as I would expect. Can anyone shine some light on why this might be happening. Below is some code to illustrate what I am seeing, the code from the some.dll assembly calls a method named PerformLookup. For testing I put a similar MessageBox type output with "PerformLookup Time: " as the text. What I end up seeing is:
First: "PerformLookup Time: 40:842"
Second: "initIndex Time: 45:873"

long story short, I have created a ListView type control, using UserControls for the parent control and the ListViewItems. Most the of the control is written and works fine, right up to the point where I tried to replicate the 'Control.SelectedItems(0).Index' property and the 'SelectedIndexChanged' event.
Each child object knows its index value, and could pass this value via the SelectedIndexChanged event (assuming this is how it works in a normal ListView control -- user clicks on an item, and that item fires an event updating the selected index value in the parent object).
How does the child object raise an event in the parent object? I have a feeling this could be done with Delegates, but I'm still learning about their usage.

I have a nested class, let's call it class1 and it has class2 inside it; VB.Net eg:[code]

I have been trying to use reflection to get at all variables I have in classes. I have a bunch of classes and they all use private fields, with public properties to access these private variables.I have used the method Type.getFields() to get to all the public fields, but it doesnt return anything. It seems to completely ignore properties. If I add some test public variables as normal, it picks these up, however I was hoping to keep using the public properties in these classes.
Is there anyway to force the Type.getFields() to pick up on public properties? I see it has some binding flags, and one for getProperty, however it doesnt seem to work.
