I have a datagrid that I am saving to a database. If i am currently in a cell and have changed the value of it, but have not exited the cell or pressed enter the change is not reflected in the database. I think what I have to do is either mimic the Enter key or ALT key command on the activecell in the datagrid, I have tried using

im using VS2005. and the built-in sql express.when i run my code in debug mode, i can see that the required number of rows are being affected correctly.but when i actually go and see in the table data, the data has not been inserted/updated.i am using sqlcommand. executeNonQuery() to insert/update data.also, i must add that both executeScalar and executeReader are working perfectly.what could be the possible reason for executeNonQuery although showing the number of rows affected but does not actually do it when seen in the table data?int x = cmd.ExecuteScalar(); // X SHOWS 2 OR 3 depending on the number of rows affected.

Instead of using that I was wondering if I could do something like this:

But to get focus to the next element in line, like the next one from the current focused item.
What is the difference between SendKeys.SendWait and SendKeys.Send?Send obviously will just send they key immediately, but does SendWait actually wait for the message to be processed or does it also send it immediately?The function's name itself is just confusing. Which one should I use if I want to send keystrokes to a 3rd party app immediately, or is there no difference? To me, a few milliseconds is a big difference.

I'm looking for the underlying Win32 API call that the DotNET Framework invokes on a SendKeys.Send or .SendWait call, or a Win32 API Equivalent to SendKeys. I've already experimented with SetKeyboardState which seems like the way to go, except that it does not raise any kind of keyboard event that causes the set keystates to register with an active application or the OS (at least not until another key is pressed; for example I can meddle with the keyboardstate before events process on a natural keystroke, but I can't invoke a keystroke programmatically).

later i needed to convert it in vb.net I converted it, every thing is working fine, but one problem appears, an adodc's Recordsource query for searching records is not working, it only works if there is data in dataset (Datagrid),suppose once i pressed search button to search record and if no record found then dataset / datagrid becomes empty, now i wanted to search an other record with other name, but this time it does not work and following error appears Either BOF or EOF is True, or the current record has been deleted. View 1 RepliesWhen I am loading an Assembly dynamically, then calling a method from it, I appear to be getting the method from Assembly executing before the code in the method that is calling it.It does not appear to be executing in a Serial manner as I would expect. Can anyone shine some light on why this might be happening. Below is some code to illustrate what I am seeing, the code from the some.dll assembly calls a method named PerformLookup. For testing I put a similar MessageBox type output with "PerformLookup Time: " as the text. What I end up seeing is:

Once some computation is performed and another file is loaded into the datagrid, the column order of the new file changes .i.e the column header is changes its position from its original Excel file.

I'm faced with another issue I would like to have resolved. I have filled my dataset with records from a table and successfully displayed it in a DataGrid. Next i would like to change the background color of certain rows or records in the datagrid using values from a column. E.g assuming my first column stores numeric values, I would like to have records where value in column greater than 6 have it background changed to a different color.
