I'm currently making one program in Visual Basic 2010 , and there are like 5 labels, and I want them to get bigger (bigger font size) when I put my mouse on them, and to get back to normal when I move my mouse from them (it gives pretty cool effect) now, changing Height and Width didn't do the thing. Then I tried to directly change their font size using label.font.size += 10 but it says that font size is read only...I also tried to bypass that by using dim a = label.font.size a += 10 but when I do that it absolouletly does nothing...
I'm currently very far into a project which has taken me several months. I have suddenly hit a snag. I have 6 Aboutboxes and of course 1 Form and Splashscreen. On the splash screen I have some lables and I can't seem to edit them, its like they don't exist, but there deffintly there.Another problem is that I cant resize the Form, and also 2 of the aboutboxes, won't resize either. I can resize it by holding shift + arrow, but this is highly unpractical and unnecessary, since it worked perfectly before.
I have the following code, which I use for in another control and it works fine, although the other control is a custom control that inherits from Control.
Public Class MoveableLabel Inherits Label Const WM_NCHITTEST As Integer = &H84 Const HTCLIENT As Integer = &H1 Const HTCAPTION As Integer = &H2 [Code] .....
I have a custom control label that I am trying to give all the same properties and functionality to as a regular label. I can change the text, font, and assign the auto size property. However, I cannot figure out a way to make the control re-size correctly. Does anyone have any suggestions or code examples of a custom control being re-sized to fill the entire control?
I'm looking for a way to insert a label into a flowlayoutpanel without it having to scroll horizontally. Therefore, autosize is out of the question. I have it right now so it doesn't exceed the flowlayoutpanel using the
I am trying to dynamically resize labels and position each subsequent label a perdetermined distance from the end of the label that was just generated. My code looks like this:
Public Sub ResizeImage(ByVal scaleFactor As Double, ByVal fromStream As Stream, ByVal toStream As Stream) Dim image__1 = System.Drawing.Image.FromStream(fromStream)
I need for a user to be able to resize a panel using at least one corner at runtime. I did this by making a panel and placing a small picturebox in the bottom left corner. I'm only testing it, so I just gave both the picturebox and panel black borders so I could test my code. Here's what I came up with:
I created so many listviews in my project, that im too lazy to add to each listview a resize event with percentages. Is there any other trick, who just scales the columns so as they are?
I'm starting work updating an UI for one of my company's applications and I'm running into a sticky issue. The parent control contains several panels, each of which can be turned on or off depending on user input.
The final panel in the user control contains another user control which gets resizes according to a toggle switch. Essentially, it "opens" up more information.
While the child control (ChildControl) is docked to Fill inside the parent control (ParentControl), when I add height to ChildControl I can't get ParentControl's height to get updated as well. Currently I'm handling the ChildControl.Layout event in ParentControl but I can't seem to reach that code. To resize ChildControl, I'm calling Me.Height += 200 in ChildControl.vb.
I have made a model in excel (windows vista) which predicts the rate of an organisms growth. The mass of the organism changes for a given year depending on the size of the time step. I would ideally like to have a label which displays the mass, at a given year of growth to demonstrate this. Is there a way a row number can be attributed to a value in a column? Something like:
mass = Cells(i, 2) i = "the row number where the number 6 is in column one!!" <<<<This is where the problem lies!
I have my datalist in my project and I cannot get the label to code behing in VB. I tried below one and doesn't work; Dim Picture1Label As Label = CType(DataList1.FindControl("Picture1Label"), Label)
I want to replace the text of label named "Picture1Label" with "Photos/sungate.jpg" in a public shared function as follows;
I am working on a form with several databound textboxes, each with its own label to identify it. I would like for the label to enable/disable based on code logic. I see the label properties in design mode, but cannot access the label properties in code. The intellisense tells me my label name is not declared. Am I not able to access label properties as in vb6 or the same as a textbox?
I've created another header row for a gridview programmatically. In this row I have a few controls including a label that I want to align all the way to the left of the cell. The one cell has a columnspan of 7 so it runs across the entire gridview. how do i align that label programmatically?
Dim cell As New TableCell Dim lblfilter As New Label Dim row As New GridViewRow(-1, -1, DataControlRowType.Header, DataControlRowState.Normal)

I want to display only the number in this link, in a label visual basic 2008 this is the code i have, it works it just displays the whole link in the label.
Dim theElementCollection As HtmlElementCollection = Me.WebBrowser1.Document.GetElementsByTagName("a") For Each curElement As HtmlElement In theElementCollection Dim ctrlID As String = curElement.GetAttribute("innerText").ToString
So im currently making a program, basicly i want the user to put in a certain code into a text box, then when they hit the button, visual basic opens the excel spreadsheet, and seaches for the code the put it, so i have this excel sheet that has like a billioncodes and the names of the codes, so the names of the codes are in column a, and the codes are in column b, i want vb to open the spreadsheet, search through column b from top to bottom, then close the spreadsheet, and put the name of the code from column a into a label so the user can see. and possibly pop up with an error box if it doesnt find the code.
Have a label on a form which I want to show run time status, and have a code module which stores some functions. How do I send text from code module functions to this label on form?
Need to enter characters into a label box as input that should display wingdings as output in a text box.How do you write code in VB to convert characters (ABC) from a label box to wingdings in a text box?
Private Sub BugReportsCentral_Load(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Load WebBrowser2.Navigate("http://xxxxxxxxxxx.net/update/link/on-off/threadreport.html")
[code]...
Why this code doesn't work? It doesn't print the label with the correct thing.
I'm converting an application from VB6 to VB.NET, and am required to declare and initialise some controls in code (control arrays). I have it declared globally, so other forms can access the data stored within them, and then I try to manipulate them inside the Form_Load() sub:
Public lblDataZone() As Label Private Sub Form_Load() Handles Me.Load lblDataZone(0) = New Label
[code]....
The error I get says "Object reference not set to an instance of an object". I feel like I'm missing something huge here, but what's wrong with it?
I'm working on a Hazardous Materials label printing program. One of the options is to do an "NFPA" label. Since there are 4 values required with 4 or 6 options, the ratings are entered via radio buttons in a group box. That's working okay. I display values in the NFPA diamond as they're entered: left quadrant blue, top quadrant red, left yellow, bottom red. I'm having trouble with the label in which the rating will be displayed on top of a jpg diamond for the white. In this quadrant the text can be up to 4 characters. I can accept the text going into an adjacent block a little, but the corners of the label overlap into another quadrant/color. I reduced the font size which solved the overlap problem but the font is then too small and looks terrible. I tried to make the background of the label transparent to let the color come through correctly but that's not a valid value for label.background. I'm figuring that the transparent background is the best solution. What can I use that will accept a transparent background so the color shows through?
I'm trying to set the transparent property via label properties properties, not via code. Here's the code if it makes any difference:
Public Class NFPA Private Sub Button1_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click Close() End Sub
