IDE :: Write Code To Convert Characters (ABC) From A Label Box To Wingdings In A Text Box?
Oct 26, 2010
Need to enter characters into a label box as input that should display wingdings as output in a text box.How do you write code in VB to convert characters (ABC) from a label box to wingdings in a text box?
I want to use a Wingdings character on a button control. I set it's font property to Wingdings but I don't know what to put in the text property field. In the Windows Character Map app the character code I want to use is 0xFC. I tried entering that but it displays as someting else. I also tried &hFC but that doesn't work either. I know how to do it in code, but I want to do it in design mode if it's possible.
I am doing project in vb.netI am using a Rich text box on which i can set different ont(name, size, bold, italic, underline),color to different selected text.I am able to do this in Rich textbox but i want to create bitmap (or assign to picturebox) of this of different text with different font style & color but i am getting not much font as like textbox in image..
i would like to be able to double click on a label for a text box and write a value into the .tag property and then change the color surrounding the label.for example.. if the user double click the default label..(which looks like the stardard label) then I would write a "1" to the tag property for that label, and at the same time, change the line color surrounding the label to red(maybe even changing the thinkness of the line).
when the user would double click the label again.. I was see that it was already selected and change the setting back to the default.
I want to read a text file and write the lines on different labels. Is it possible to generate labels?
I tried with four labels with label1, label2, label3, label4 names but I don't know how to create a loop to read every line of the file and write it in every different label. First line in first label, second line in second label etc.[code]...
I'm trying to implement Bandwidth Total calculation into my little desktop monitoring program using 2 *.txt files. Everything else is working great except for the writing/reading part of it. I had put this together originally without the intention of bandwidth monitoring, but I've decided it would be a good thing to have.I want to have 2 monitoring types: Windows Session Bandwidth Total & All-Time Bandwidth Total (since the program was 1st run on the machine). The counter is on a Timer (2nd of 2), and I want it to write and add the label values each second into the file, then when Form3 is opened, to read the text file and show the results.
I have made an application in VB 6.0.In this application ,i am connecting one controller through serial port to laptop.I have used MSOMM control for this purpose.Controller is sending data as a string .On VB 6.0 applicaton in laptop ,i am getting data displayed in one text boxall in ASCII code/characters.Total chatacters in string are 61.My problem is this that all 61 characters are comming in one text box.I want thateach character should come in seperate text box so that i can be able to display them individually,i.e. 61 characters and 61 text boxes.
writing data to a text file. I use the following code:
Sub WriteFile(sFile As String, sData As String) Dim nDestFile As Integer, sText As String ''Close any open text files Close
[code]....
The variable sFile above is a valid file name. The problem is that the WriteFile method prints an extra empty line at the end of sFile which is not desired. Is there any way to stop the "Print" method from doing so?
i am trying to write to a label via a loop incrementing the label number on each run .The Labels are part of a "windows form" if that makes any difference .The code bellow is an example of what i wish to do [code]
Have a label on a form which I want to show run time status, and have a code module which stores some functions. How do I send text from code module functions to this label on form?
I have a group box with 4 radio buttons and another groupbox with 4 text boxes.how do i write a short code to clear all text boxes and radio buttons within each box.i have written code the long way, ie..[code]but i think there is and easier way but i cannot find the statement.
I know there are work-arounds like using a Select Case, but in my situation, it would make things a lot easier... especially since I won't know exactly what will be entered. I can't force the user to use a combobox or anything like that either, because it is going to be unique code for every situation. If there is no way of doing this, I will figure something else out, but it will require a lot more work.
I'm making a custom control suited for handling passwords. I have created a control that inherits from a text box and I have implemented a lot of things so far. But what i want to do now is create a system so that when a user types It will display his last character typed for a X amount of time.Is there a way to turn only selected characters into password characters and still be able to get the password text from the Text property ?
I have a string of characters, but I would like to have a string of hexdecimal characters where the hexadecimal characters are converted by turning the original characters into integers and then those integers into hexadecimal characters. How do I do that?
my project was intially mandated to be done in c#.however a large contributor to the project wrote much of the business logic, which he knows well, in vb.net.How difficult would it be to convert the following c# code into vb.net.
I have been asked to read text out of a Word document, convert to UTF-8, then write them to an xml file with their character codes. On a scale from 1 to 10, I have about .0001 experience with encoding, so I will try to explain and answer questions to the best of my knowledge.
Currently, in the Word document we are reading as a test document (for learning how this works), we have the following characters in a bookmark range in the the middle of other text[code]...
I am trying to write a program and I am stuck on the first part and it goes as follows:A word is converted to a password were these letters are converted to the following:
a is converted to * e is convertedo 5 i is converted to 9
I'm trying to create my own special filetype that can be read by others, but I need to make it a special language that a program can convert to. Basically if I have this text[code]...
I know that the topic is kind of weird, but I will explain that here. I am reading text from a text box and inserting that into a listbox. I am wanting to read what the user inputs into the text box and add a character between each character they type. Here is what im wanting to do written out[code]...
I've been asked to re-write an application that was written sometime ago by another programmer. This application reads data from a database table, massages it, and then writes out the results to a text file that is later shipped off to another company. When I run my new application, it generates a file that, according to the byte count, is twice the size of the file output from the old application. However, to look at the two files with note-pad they look identical. I found that by using 'Ultra-edit' that the new records have a low-value byte hex '00' between each real character.
I have a form that I am loading text (strings) from a database into a label.text (so the text from the database shows up into the label) I have done this code in a class that keeps all my database stuff seperate.
Public Function getQuestions() As List(Of String) Dim question As New List(Of String) objConnection.Open() objReader = objcommand.ExecuteReader
[CODE]...
Within the form that the label is in I have done this code
Private Sub Form1_Load(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Load Label1.Text(db.getQuestions().ToArray) End Sub
I am basically making a quiz, so that when the form loads, question 1 is on there is 4 possible answers. You then press next button and it goes to the next question.
I want to make a program that for example i will type in text box 1 "sample" but the text that will appear is a different letters or word, example of that is i type in text box the word "single" but the text that will appear is "sample".... i know this will be in the key press event?
i have a notification j-query plugin .. i taste it in my page (working 100%)but when i want to use it in a event SqlDataSource1_Deleted with the response.write method it does not work
Protected Sub SqlDataSource1_Deleted(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.Web.UI.WebControls.SqlDataSourceStatusEventArgs) Handles SqlDataSource1.Deleted Response.Write("<script type='text/javascript'> showNotification({message: 'This is a
I know how to declare a variable, a function, to write a string of characters or numbers (I still looking in tutorials and depict from there what i need to know) but...WHAT I DONT KNOW is how to USE them? At "what" or "how" are you thinking when you make a program? I try for SOME LOooNG TIME to understand but I think im too stupid to understand from pages on the net (or i dont find THAT tutorial who can explain right for me).I try a lot of programing languages starting with pascal,c,c++,darkbasic, alice, Visual-c,c#,c++,basic,php,even assembler, some programing zones in Excel and Word but from all of this i cant manage to understand the life behind the words.
I have a multiline textbox from which I create a single string[code]...
What I'd like to do is write this to a DB as-is by adding wholeThing as a parameter using to SqlCommand.Parameters.AddWithValue, but all of my painstakingly-inserted newlines go away (or appear to).
I saw this and was hoping I didn't need to concern myself with CHAR(nnn) SQL stuff.
I have a text document that is a roster of licensees. I am looping through this document to create a html table of this data. I've come across names with non standard characters.
This is one of them
Aimeé
I tried running all the inputs through the following function, but when it comes across the above character it doesn't replace it.
Function ReplaceBadCharacters(ByVal input As String) As String Return input.Replace(Chr(233), "é") End Function
How can I replace each character with the html equivalent?
EDIT
When I debug the above function it shows the input as Aime[] and not Aimeé.
I have found that an image can be stored as some string. To give an example I have included a ms word part that has an image.I saved a word file with image and saved it as xml format .when i opened the xml file in a notepad i got following section. It must be the image being stored as some stream of text. Is there a similar way to do it in .net.
