I am trying to create a statement with my dataset that uses an underlying access table. There is a date column in one of the tables in the dataset/access db. Originally the date column within the datarow was set to 'nothing'.

I have a DB table with the following columns
PolicyNumber
NextPremiumDate
PremiumNumber
Example For each PolicyNumber i have 5 NextPremiumDates.I want to display the 1st NextPremiumDate which is easy ...but i want to show the next NextPremiumDate only after the last NextPremiumDate has passed...How do i check if the last date has passed?I mean if i have 5 dates in the table given above...how do i check if the 1st date has passed then show 2nd date ...if 2nd has passed show 3rd and so on.

This is what I have so far but there is a compiler error on the w.CompletedDate field in the Where clause.

I am pulling a date value from my database:

Then comparing these date values to the current date:

But for some reason its always returning the Else condition - even though the values in the database should make the query true. I'm guessing for some reason its not pulling the results as a date?
I'm developing a tiny program to update a single field in an MSSQL database table as needed.The user enters in an ID number, clicks Find Patient, and the TableAdapter output gets filtered into a DataGridView.Out of the entire table, I'm only displaying 3 columns (two locked for editing), and hiding the key column. When I go through the TableAdapter Configuration Wizard and have it build the Update queries, it complains: "Updating queries cannot be automatically generated because your SELECT query does not include some primary key columns. Do you wish to add primary key columns to your query?"

One of the things I loved about VB6 is that you had the ability to tell the development environment to break on all errors regardless of what error handling you had set up. Is it possible to do the same thing in VS2008 so that the debugger will stop on any error even if it happens inside a try-catch statement?

View 5 RepliesI got a quite a big sql statement and I get errors when dealing with dates and numeric values. All of this is in order to copy the data to a new table.so these variables I am trying to use for passing the data:

Dim country As Integer ' on my sql is numeric(3,0)
for the date I get an out of range exception,and for these two integers (custNtitle, country) I get invalidCastExceptions when dealing with strings there's no problem but dates and numbers causes errors for me?

The main table "Customers" contains all customers that have been placed in our system. I have searched a lot on the web about changing file attributes in .net , it takes me a long time to get the final code but it was really good. But after all of my search I didn't know why we use "And" when we compare file attribute like this:

I have a computer that takes in a barcode through a Visual Basic program on one computer and I want to be able to compare that barcode as a String to data on a different computer on the same network by ethernet connection where the data is stored in an Excel 2010 file (.xlsm) in Column A in a workbook called 'Data.xlsm'. Before the data is allowed to be saved or used further in the program on the first computer, I would like for the comparison to happen.
Some more details that you all may or may not need.
Computer 1 (where barcode is scanned): Windows 7, Office 2010
Computer 2 (where data file is stored): Windows XP, Office 2007
